"Yeah, I guess I'm alright. What are you sorry for, though?"

“I don’t know. Being quiet, I guess.”

She couldn’t be quiet. That wasn’t who she was. That wasn’t the person TAAron liked.

"You have nothing to be sorry for. I'm here to talk about... whatever you might want to talk about. But only if you want to."

She was quiet for a good five seconds.

“I don’t have any powers anymore. They were… they were making everything impossible.”

Spoiler

Oh, I thought she did the marshmallow from thin air trick during their earlier conversation. I assume you want to retcon that?

"Ah. I'm sorry, that must have been hard."

Yeah, I’d like to be a lil bolder with wherever her arc is going

“And… it makes me wonder. If I actually belong here, I mean. I can’t help with any problems that come up, and… and the reason I came here is… solved. I can control my powers now, kind of.”

"You do belong here. And if you don't want to stay anyway, I'll go with you." There was no hesitation in his voice.

A little bit of color rose in her cheeks. That was sweet of him.

“I like it here. I really do. But… but for some reason, it feels so lonely now.”

"I can see that. Things change without you, people come and go..." Haly again got the uncanny impression that she was feeling something from him, this time a sharp twinge of pain. It showed on his face as a brief tightening of his expression before it softened again, his eyes meeting hers.

"I'm sure you probably felt lonely when you came here the first time, right? With time, it'll probably get better."

She pulled up her knees and rested her chin on them. “I wasn’t lonely the first time. I was just excited.”

Then she added, softly, “But thank you, TAAron.”

He nodded. "Of course. Whatever happens, I'm here for you. I don't intend to lose you again." She could feel his resolve and care as much as she could see it in his eyes, along with a burning self-reproach.

….I don’t know where anyone is anymore….

Insa woke up slowly. Her whole body ached. She sighed to herself, she’d been waking up like this more and more often. Most days she just stayed in bed. The ache didn’t go away all day but it was somewhat more manageable if she just stayed in bed.

I need to get up today.

She slowly sat up.

I need to like get food or something.

She tried to stand up but a sharp pain ran up through her and she collapsed back onto the bed.

Get food and maybe some painkillers. From Ash.

Insa slowly got up again and tried to make her way to the infirmary. She had to constantly stop and take breaks.

Eventually she made it to the library. There she collapsed into a chair.

They’re mostly in Ave’s and Haly’s bedrooms and a hallway

Want me to come over towards the library?

That would probably work the best. Insa isn’t doing so hot.

She’s not really okay. She’ll probably put on a brave face but she’s not okay.

There was a god who was extremely emotionally manipulative. And she gave Insa a scar thing on her neck. A lichtenberg scar if you want to see what it would look like. But it's gonna be causing her problems because its magical. She doesn't know that though.

She watched TAAron and Haly leave, then turned to Lerac.

"You can go, if you need to." She started walking towards the library.

Aventine stopped for a moment between the library's double doors. For a few seconds, her fingers gently grazed the wood grain, tracing it. She blinked and went further into the library.

Insa heard someone entering the library.

She sat up straighter wincing at the pain. She reached for her pouch so she could grab her tablet and look busy, but it wasn't there.

She groaned. It must still be in her room.

Aventine came into view. She didn't acknowledge whether or not she saw Insa (she did). She grabbed a random book from a shelf and sat at a small table. Maybe reading - or at least pretending to read - would calm her down.

Once there were four children whose names were Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy. This story is about something that happened to them when they were sent away from London during the war because of the air-raids.

Insa watched Aventine out of the corner of her eye.

I should be reading something. Then she probably won't talk to me.

The nearest book shelf was just a few feet away. Insa stood up and took a step toward the shelf. Pain shot through her again and she let out a small gasp. She froze but then made her way as fast as she could manage (not very fast) a grabbed a book.

Maybe... I shouldn't have sent Lerac away...

A teen guy with incredibly unruly blonde hair strolled into the library, then stopped. That was weird-- he hadn't expected to find people. And he definitely hadn't expected to find sad people.

"You guys okay?"
