That was... unexpected, she sent as the guards approached.

The two outer guards looked surprised, but the middle was unfazed. "Even so, nearly all gods have been outlawed for ten years, their seats of power destroyed."

I am unpredictable!

"OUTLAWED?! ME?! IS THAT A THREAT?! MY SEAT OF POWER SHALL NEVER FALL! IT IS THE SKY AND THE EARTH, THE WAX BABIES AND THE WAX BABIES!!! YOU CANNOT SURVIVE WITHOUT I!!!" A dozen bolts of lightning come down and strike the earth in a circle around the three guards.

"Uh, maybe we should-" one guard started.

"It was not our choice, nor our place to protest." The middle guard looked at Aventine. "Hm..."

"THEN WHOSE CHOICE WAS IT?!"

Elan looks at Aventine. "THIS IS MY WIFE!" He shouts, "GODDESS OF OFF-BRAND BARBIE DOLLS AND ALSO OF FOLIAGE! LOOK UPON HER IN FEAR!" Elan casts an illusion to make Aventine look more goddess-like.

"Rahil's," the side guard answered, a small amount of contempt noticable in her voice.

"Lord Rahil's. And as I said, gods are illegal. So whether you are who you claim or not, we must take you to him. You are either in violation of his Divine Law, or runaway slaves. Neither of which he will accept."

"TAKE US TO THIS LORD RAHIL!Elan says. This was a really bad idea. He sent.

Bookwyrm appeared behind Insa.

"Shut up," he said to Saar.

Insa hugged Bookwyrm.

"Look at you. Always ruining everything."

Horrible, she agreed.

"Oh, I plan to." He launched a spear up at Elan, and it impaled his shoulder. It prevented him from using any of his abilities. Elan fell to the ground in pain.

The guard signaled the other two. The female guard joined him in capturing Elan, while the third grabbed Aventine's arms and pressed them against her back. She grunted in pain.

The guards began walking them to the castle.

Absolutely awful. Stupid wax babies.

"So what world is this?"

"No." Elan wasn't able to tell, but the guard was close to cracking a smile.

"My gosh. This really is heck. No gods, no sandwiches, and no respect for little wax babies! Next thing you know their entire diet consists of only off-brand kroger food and Kraft mac-n-cheese!"

"You have no idea," the female guard muttered.

"Quiet, both of you," the other one commanded. The order was accompanied with a hit on Elan's back, aggravating the wound where the spear still was. The female guard obeyed.

"Ow."  Elan said, quietly enough that no one could hear. That spear hurt. He debated whether or not he should start complaining "are we there yet?" over and over, but decided they'd probably just hit him again. Was it worth it? Maybe.

Aventine tried to look back at him, but her guard kicked her into looking forward again. They were near the top of the steps to the palace now.

Elan looks up in awe at the palace. He jerks at them kicking Aventine. "Don't touch her." He said warningly.

We don't want to. The voice in his head was that of the female guard. But we have no choice. We're slaves as much as them. "Them" referring to the laborers. If Elan tried to send a message back, it still wouldn't work.

Elan pauses for a heartbeat, and contemplates her words as they finish up their trek.

Elan and his guards were now in line with Aventine at the palace gates. Elan's male guard saluted the ones posted there, and the doors were opened. They were shoved inside.

There was a telepathic communication between the three guards, and they changed directions several times on the way to the throne room.

Who is this guy? Elan wonders, also sending the thought to Aventine. Why did you bring us here?

The sword passes through The Being's arm, which re-connects after the slice. The blade is left dripping, no with the Essence, but away as the essence, melting away. The grip, however, loosens, and Tal is able to pull his arm away. "Insolent IDIOTS. There is nothing that can stop Infinity!"

The Being flings a hand out, and a strange weapon, long with two spiked sides like a harpoon, a hollow area in the center, appears in his hand. He points it towards the boulder and it is sliced in half, smashing into the walls, all made of Essence now, and melting away. "I don't have intestines, feeble entity."

"I AM LORD ELANTORIX, GOD OF THUNDER AND LITTLE WAX BABIES! BOW DOWN BEFORE ME!" Elan says. His voice is deep and booming, and as he speaks the skies turn grey and begin crackling, his eyes glowing white, and he starts to float upwards off the ground.

Almond didn't let up, almost not even seeing the results of the boulder. "I will send your "Essence" to the deepest darkest reaches of the multiverse where evil beings beyond description will rend you limb from limb forever!" Almond sends a barrage of boulders, beds, pianos and even a fridge.

The thoughts were still blocked by the power of the spear. Elan and Aventine were forced to their knees in front of the man on the throne.

Most of the barrage melts away, having no effect. The fridge, however, slams into him and splatters his body all over. Each place it splatters builds up, and forms The Being, until there are around fifty of him standing there. "You will DIE."

"Howdy." Elan says to the man. "Do you have a waffle? I'm hungry."

"Elan. Stop," Aventine whispered.

"What are the charges?" the man demanded, not looking at either of them. He was studying his cuticles.

"Impersonating gods and evading labor," Elan's male guard answered.

At this the man looked at the two prisoners. When his eyes locked on Elan, he felt as though the man were seeing into his very soul, and every horrible thing that had ever happened to him was brought to his mind. Judging by the gasp Aventine let out when he looked at her, she was experiencing the same thing.

Tal stumbled back so that he was completely in the cell, watching the fight warily. I have to help them...if I leave this cell, I'll become a bigger problem. He starts shaking.
