Possible Error?

So I recently went back and reread Alcatraz after reading Brandon's recent Ask the Author on Goodreads and realized that Alcatraz 5 might finally get published.

 

I have finished Alcatraz 5, but I don't know what the publication schedule for it will be. I think Tor wants to re-release the first four before doing five.

 

 

But in doing so, I uncovered an apparent error that I've been unable to reconcile.

 

In Knights of Crystalia Alcatraz Chapter 20 recovers the Translator's Lens his mother had stolen from his father.

 

"Aha! I said, pulling not one but two pairs of translator's Lenses from Fitzroy's jacket. pg 275

And again

 

At least we had it, as well as both pairs of Translator's Lenses. pg 278

And yet again

 

But we caught Archedis, saved Mokia, and got back my father's pair of Translator's Lenses. pg 303

But in Chapter 2 of Shattered Lens Bastille seems to contradict all this.

 

"She Who Cannot be Named got away, your mother got away with a pair of Translator's Lenses," pg 4

The copies of the books I've been reading are both first editions. I've looked around, but I haven't found anything about this anywhere. Can anyone help me out with this?

Yep, it's an error. This is fixed in the UK individual editions. Maybe not fixed in the UK omnibus.

So, what's the canon continuity now? did Alcatraz mother  got to keep a lent, or did alcatraz recover both?
