Marmota he/him Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Maybe you are right, maybe you aren't. This is a hard one to call. I am not so keen on the new POV unless they leave sufficient room for the characters we have grown to love. I do hope our current crew will get decent page time in the second half, unless they all turn out dead, which would be dramatic. I hate when authors kill of their cast as the replacements are never as good. I really hope you are right, because than we are getting 2 thousand page books in the second half hehe But Brandon already said that the guys from the first half will appear frequentely in the second half, so one less concern. I just said that probably the books will focus a little more on the new ones
missionaryofgod he/him Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 As I said in another thread, most people think Adolin will die by the end of book 5. I sincerely hope that will not be the case, but I am afraid it will be. Needless to say that if he does die, I will have a hard time reading the second half. Sure you can spare some time for the other characters when your grief is gone 1
missionaryofgod he/him Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 If Adolin dies at least we solve the case of Adolin and Kaladin beating eachother to death over Shallan
Guest Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 If Adolin dies at least we solve the case of Adolin and Kaladin beating eachother to death over Shallan It would be a very poor way to settle the issue................ Number one worst way to solve a love triangle must be killing of one of the character that or turning one of them evil... It avoids the girls actually having to make a choice: life chooses for her. I hate when such plots are used and I am confident Brandon is a better writer then that: if Adolin ends up dead, it won't be to leave room for Shalladin.

It seems you already married Kaladin with Shallan and as one you call them Shalladin 1

AerionBFII he/him Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 I'm so desperate for book 3 I'd read from Gallants POV I think Kal deserves somebody else, I like Shallan but she's far from my favourite character. I like her and Adolin together. I hope Jasnah turns cougar but she seems A sexual to me lol. I think Kal will get with the horse trainer or Laral. 1
Guest Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 I'm so desperate for book 3 I'd read from Gallants POV LOL. But I would prefer a Sureblood POV... Didn't Brandon say he did not mind using dead characters for flashbacks? Should I hope?
ChaseGiants he/him Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 4. Jasnah 5. Lopen 6. Lopen 7. Lopen 8. Rock 9. Lopen's Cousin(s) 10. Lopen 1
Moash Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 I think Renarin and Lift need to be dropped possibly. I just think Lift is really not the character for a flashback sequence and main set of pov chapters. Sadly though she is the main edgedancer so it likely will have to be her book. For Renarin I really don't find it necessary to give him flashbacks. I feel like you can explore all you need to know about adolin and renarin through dalinar's flashbacks which would be pretty good I think. I hear something about how giving shalash flashbacks changes it so that not every book has an order of the knights radiant. If so that must be changed. I would have liked a Mr T flashback set for sure but unless he becomes a radiant which I cannot see then it wouldn't work. Originally brandon meant to give mr t a book. If he did not give mr t a book for not being of an order why would he then give 2 members of one order a book each?

I feel like you can explore all you need to know about adolin and renarin through dalinar's flashbacks which would be pretty good I think. I think we need one of the Kohlin boys flashback as Dalinar's probably won't go as far as their birth. I also believe there is a strong possibility the flashback may present images of what happened between the SA arcs. Why give the flashback to Renarin and not Adolin? I don't know apart from the obvious that Renarin is a Radiant and the main representative of the Truthwatcher order. Although there is a strong chance Adolin may join his family in the matter. Adolin-Dustbringers-Shalash is the one thing that has always bugged me about those flashbacks... Originally brandon meant to give mr t a book. If he did not give mr t a book for not being of an order why would he then give 2 members of one order a book each? I think it would be more just to say he entertained the possibility to give Mr T a book, but it never was a done deal. Since his latest plan includes Shalash, the herald of the Lightweaver, I would say the reason he dropped the idea of a Taravangian's flashback is not linked to his potentially non-Radianthood.
