Wisdom he/him Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 Hello Everyone! I've been lurking around the forums for several days now and figured it was about time I went and revealed myself. I am an avid reader and read the Mistborn trilogy (no Alloy of Law yet) several months ago. I was so impressed with them (and the ending! ) that I decided to keep my eyes peeled for any more books by Brandon Sanderson. With that in mind, I checked my local library recently and picked up the Way of Kings. I am still recovering from that fateful day when my mind was shattered by the sheer epicness of that book. When i found out there wasn't another one out yet I felt the deep black abyss of despair open up beneath my feet. Its been a struggle, I admit, but I hope with your help this forum can save me from Brandon Sanderson withdrawal. So with that out of the way, let the counselling begin P.S. Would someone please tell me what TWG stands for? P.P.S. I was tempted to call myself Order and set myself up against Chaos but was ambushed by inquisitors realised the greatness of Chaos and the staff and the futility of believing I could compare. 2
Joe ST he/him Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 Hey there Wisdom, are you wise? Epic introduction and indeed we all avidly await the next Stormlight (or even any next book from Brandon XD) TWG stands for Time Wasters Guide, a website that used to act as Brandon's official forum. Unfortunately it got hacked a few months ago and the owners decided to not fix and return it, so Brandon moved the officialdom over to us . You actually show great wisdom by not pitting yourself against Chaos. For, you see, he has spikes XD and is known to stalk people.
Wisdom he/him Posted January 3, 2012 Author Posted January 3, 2012 Is it Wisdom to know that you are not wise? On reflection that actually seems like a fairly deep philosophical question, although I could be mistaken - it would not be the first time. This, obviously, will not do - I cannot call myself Wisdom if I actually am wise. Then again I suppose it would have been wise to refrain from callling myself Wisdom and avoid this whole problem, so Wisdom is the only possible name I can have. Right? As to why I actually called myself Wisdom, it's partly because I am eagerly hoping for a Shard called Wisdom and partly because it's a trait I seek to emulate - without much succes admittedly. Also, thank you for the cookie 1
Joe ST he/him Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 I think the wisdom is that you know you have far to go. I'm sure there'll be one of the theorisers come in here unfortunately disproving your choice of Shard name, because of reasons... those guys have deduced too much lol

dhalagirl she/her Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 P.P.S. I was tempted to call myself Order and set myself up against Chaos but was ambushed by inquisitors realised the greatness of Chaos and the staff and the futility of believing I could compare. Don't let Chaos intimidate you. Trust me on this one.
