Here's the topic where Felt the Worldhopper of House Venture was discovered (or the possible worldhopper, that is). http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/7365-felt-the-worldhopper/?hl=%2Bfelt+%2Bworldhopper

That's funny. Felt was the top of my list, but try searching through an e-book for "felt".

Personally, I am not convinced, but I will put it on my list of "maybes".

EDIT:

Oh, and I forgot, one more fun thing as part of this, some of the people from Roshar we have been talking about could be on the list:

Someone brought up the Heralds, and that seems to be interesting...

We know that the Heralds go back and forth between Roshar and Damnation. Kaladin says Damnation is also called Braize. We know there's another Shardworld called Braize. It might be Braise, I'm too tired to look it up right now.

If we can't safely assume that Mr. Sanderson is in fact talking about the Heralds going between worlds, I for one accuse him of trolling. This raises an interesting question. Since they seem to shuttle back and forth automatically, does that make them Worldhoppers? If you can't control if, if you're just sent back and forth, are you a Worldhopper, or are you simply Worldhopped?

But there's something else interesting. In the Prologue, Kalak talks about how dying instantly sends you back to Damnation, but if you survive you're supposed to go anyway.

Spoiler for WoR

The one and only time we see Jasnah successfully, fully, and physically enter Shadesmar, she was stabbed through the heart with a knife.

... is it possible that death, or at least mortal damage, is necessary to worldhopping? If so, that's... an interesting puzzlement.

More WoR spoiler

Szeth held an Honorblade and was slain. If Nalan hadn't brought him back instantly, is it possible his death would have been what transported him automatically to Damnation? Is that the rule? Whoever is given the Honorblade, if he dies, takes the roll of a Herald and is tortured in Damnation to prevent Desolations?

Still, Kalak says the Desolation is over, yet he wonders if all ten survived. So clearly at least one Herald going back isn't necessary to stop a Desolation. A Desolation could end with all Heralds alive. Man, what I wouldn't give to know what specifically "the end of a desolation" means.

I think you forgot to mention the greatest worldhopper of them all, the all powerful STICK!

outis, i upvoted you just for inventing the term "worldhopped"

It's supposed to be quite difficult on Sel, most theories for Scadrial involve one of the god metals being involved, no idea of how it could work on Nalthis except potentially the flowers being involved.

the difficulties of worldhopping are to travel to or from sel, but it tells nothing about how difficult it is to learn to worldhop there. it would be like seeing the conditions of the roads and judging from those how difficult it is for the locals to buy a car.

We have been told that the difficulties of worldhopping on sel are because the shards there are shattered. So I suppose the presence of a shard is like a beacon in shadesmar.

As for actually becoming a worldhopper, if my theory that you need to have a lot of investiture on you is correct, then it would be easier for rosharans and nalthians, since they can get huge amounts of investiture on them with stormlight or by accumulating breaths. It would be very difficult for allomancers, cause they are not invested normally and only becomes invested when burning metals. however, demoux being a worldhopper makes my theory quite shaky. he is an atium misting, so no way he could have found enough atium to burn to accumulate that kind of investiture on him. unless his finnal battle in the pits left him changed in some way from burning all that atium at once. but still, it doesn't seem very likely.

On the other hand, I would bet something that at least worldhopping has nothing to do with the specific magic systems of the planets and requires manipulation of raw investiture. how that is accomplished, i have no idea.

EDIT:

wait a moment, I just noticed mraize is stated by several people to be a worldhopper. I never noticed it. what are the clues? what is known about him?

A good chunk of his trophies are presumed to be Cosmere goodies, meaning that they originate from another Shardworld. For example a Tear of Edgil aka. the special Naltis flower. From there people assumed that he has been to those worlds to collect all those items. Although, from what I know there is no proof that he in person actually visited those worlds.

Carrying on with that train of thoughts, every worldhopper is also apparently ageless, and we know that massive investiture grants it. So to become a worldhopper one need a lot of investiture, much more than what is normally available. but that still don't tell us how it actually is done.

Raoden? He is significantly more powerful than the rest of the elantrians, and the Dor chose him as it's canal. He must have a greater investiture than the rest. But I could be wrong on this front, but who is the worldhopper from... I dont clame to know the planets. Also could the monks of Dakhor send someone to other planets? Just saying Dilaf was hidden, the same could be done for others.

These are both HIGHLY speculative statements. Just saying.
