Spoilers, though minor, for both Bands of Mourning, and Words of Radiance. Continue reading at your own risk. Iyatil is a Hunter from Scadrial. Call me wrong, but it makes perfect sense. A mask covered in glass shards in a mosaic format, calling people savages, and the mask is being overgrown by her face. It all fits.

I haven't seen anyone mention the strange lady that Wax danced with at lady Kelesina's party. Pretty sure she is the one who is writing the Ars Arcanum. Reasoning? Who else in that world would know what red shift is? Talks about the things that are IN the arcanum at the end of BoM. She is studying combinations on Scadrial, like she has done on roshar to a small extent. I do believe we now have confirmation of her identity.

Thank you for all of your clarification. I am still curious as to how the greatshells are bonded to their little arrow spren.
-
Where is it that we acquired this particular information? And if fabrials are powered by spren in gemstones, does that mean that stormlight is nothing but the essence of a spren? If it is a spren, why can't Rock see them? Also, how is it that spren are trapped in a gemstone? By the Eshonai interludes, we know that spren are independent of stormlight, so how is it that fabrials can harness their power?
-
I didn't know that fabrials used spren. Now I understand the arguments here a lot better. Thank you for your clarification CongnitivePulsePattern.

Brandon said that "Stormlight makes plants grow," not their bond with spren. Thr stormlight its self is the catalyst for the plants growth. And spren are NOT nessisary for magic on Roshar. Must I remind you of fabrials? They are structures that draw upon stormlight in order to produce the desired result. Dalinar (or someone else, I can't be bothered to look up the reference right now) wondered how the chasmfiends found nearly enough food to sustain them, concidering their size. As for how they seem to be larger that the O2 content would allow a normal thing to grow, stormlight substitutes the need for breath, as we see with Szeth on multiple occations.
-
WoR spoilers... Maybe? On page 348 of WoR, it states that a gem heart, one recently extracted, was glowing softly. It also says earlier in the book that the Listeners are using stormlight to grow their crops so that they may live. What I propose is that Chasmfiends and other Greatshells go into their chrysalises to gather stormlight in order to live on. Also, when later in the book, a chasmfiend corpse endures a highstorm, is harvested, and the gem heart is glowing brilliantly, showing that organic mater is no impediment to investiture. The reason that the Alethi have never noticed this, or given it any great thought, is because the gemhearts are empty, or well on their way. They also don't know that stormlight can grow plants. This isn't really a question, so much as a though exercise. If this has already been covered by another, I appologize gor wasting your time. If it has not, let the conversation and debate ensue.

I did not know that intent was nessisary, nor that initial placemet was either. Thank you for your clarification. On a side note, I find it odd that hemalurgy is so extreamly structured. With aondor and Forgery it makes sense, seeing that the Shards are "dead," but Ruin is still alive. Back to the topic on hand, I can see your point on how it would be impossible to create a hemalurgic spike with Forgery.restoration of said spike would be significantly easier. Another application, I wonder if you could Stamp a kandra? If you could what would happen? Could you change the First Generation back to their human state? Forgery is a really complex art that we have so little information about.
-
Only the end placement of the spike matters, and the solder that HoA spoiler Your point on the metal composition is a good one, even if I'm not convinced that a steel arrow head could not be Forged. It would also pose the problem of the stamp taking. You would have to restamp every time, BEFOR the stamp wore out, seeing as a hemalurgic spike will not kill you where a normal one would.
-
Are the Worldhoppers in the Cosmere similar to the Travelers in the Pendragon series? Hoid at least seems to be where ever and when ever he needs to be. Just some strange parallel that comes from my sleep deprived brain. Flumes are nowhere near as cool as worldhopping though.
-
What if you found an arrow on a battle field that had killed a normal man, but then forged it to say that it had killed an allomancer? This would create a hemalurgic spike. It already killed someone, meaning it has taken a part of their soul, we know this happens, but now the arrow believes that the part of the soul it took is actually the part that makes someone an allomancer. Significantly less Investiture would be required.
-
I was mainly speaking as if the Forger were a world hopper, allowing their Forgery to be believable. I can see how Forgery would be of a lesser investiture, seeing as the transformations are so fragile. I am also under the impression that you can not create a soul stamp with AonDor, as the aons drawn must precise. Forging a hemalurgic spike would pose the same problem of making someone an alomancer, because you would need to create a portion of a spirit web... I suppose if you knew what you were doing, which would require extensive knowledge, one could create that spirit web portion on a spike, and the spirit would link itself to Harmony, or whichever shard you are aiming for, and the shard would provide the power... Hmm, more thought is required. Back to you guys.

Best Twinborn Combinations (Excluding Compounding)
Divine0Flame replied to DeadFencer's topic in Mistborn
Can I have your list when you're done with it? I would love to have Allomantic Electrum with Feruchemical Zinc. Autium with out the Auti! you would be able to see everything that others would do by analyzing your shadows motions, reactions, and expressions. Another cool one would be to have Allomatic Tin and Feruchemical Brass. There you have a True Sentry. Allomantic Pewter with Feruchemical Bendalloy would be pretty great, as a pewter drag probably wouldn't kill you.- 111 replies

I was thinking that something similar to when Elend burned autium and duralumin. He became hyper aware of everything and a large amount of information was pushed into his mind. If one were to compound copper, by my own reckoning, one would become omniscient.
-
If I am not mistaken, a Forger, from Sel, changes somethings presence in the physical relm by altering the object in the spiritual relm. This can also be done with people. My question is this, "Can a Forger change someones spirit web to make them a Mistborn, Feruchemist, Elantrian, Returned, ect. ect?" If it can be done, could the same method also be used to strip someone of their powers? The applications of Forgery, much like thoes of Hemalugy, are extreamly unexplored, and, unfortunately, all we can do is speculate. What are your thoughts on the matter?
-
We have symbols for both the feruchemical and alomantic uses of metalic investiture, but do we have thoes symbols for hemalurgy as well?
-
um... the power of ruin is still in the pits of hathsin. Why? Because at the end of HoA they burnt all the atium and the power went back to the pits. Harmony isnt going to go consume the beads that form in he Pits because that would make him imballanced. He will likely just let the world have their fun with it.

This thred ruined this section of the forum for me. My brain, trying... to much geometry. PAIN!! Rithmatics is significantly more complicated than I first thought. Multiple things show that you can let LoF touch at more than thw corners/ends. I am namely refrencing Joles's use at the end of the book where he has Melody construt a "maze" to trap the wild LoM. This disproves that putting a bind point on a LoF makes is it a straight LoW. It is likely however that you must draw the line with the intent to make a LoW. Why is this so complicated!

When Does The Rithmatist Stop Drawing Rithmatic Line.
Divine0Flame replied to High prince of geeks's topic in The Rithmatist
That is a wonderful idea! Other than they have no fabrials, the WC don't die in the normal scense, and you would have to get your chalk somewhere strategicaly useful. sorry for raining on your parade. -
Isn't there something that says tjat you can access other peoples necrosil minds? If that is true, then could any feru be able to fill one? I am not sure what you ment my the innate investiture stuff, but I think that some elaboration woud be nice.
-
But in AoL, there are only necrosill alone, maybe a twinborn, so storing investiture would be useless unless you are working in tandem with another feruchemist, as you can't access the other metalminds, even if you did charge it. Pleas corect me if I am wrong.

Plot to Destroy Adonalsium - CONFIRMED BY BRANDON
Divine0Flame replied to imriel452's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Sorry, who is frost? I think that basing it off of their location makes some sence, but where would they be? As I understand it, the Shardworlds came after the Shattering, so in what world were they dwelling? There are so many questions with out answers! And when we do get one, it just spawns more!( I feel like we are fighting the Sandersist Hydra.)- 66 replies

Plot to Destroy Adonalsium - CONFIRMED BY BRANDON
Divine0Flame replied to imriel452's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Oh. Wasn't sure how that worked. So there was a council of people when "He" Shattered? Or did they find the power and take it for them selves. How did that happen?- 66 replies

Plot to Destroy Adonalsium - CONFIRMED BY BRANDON
Divine0Flame replied to imriel452's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I am thinking that the plot to destroy adonalsium was what brought "His" opposing force to his attention. Now that he knows of His Rivals existance, he realizes that, if left unchecked, these plots wil continue, and one will eventualy succeed. thus he sacrifices his conciousness, simmilerly as Preservation will do, to contain "His" Rival's power, and stop him from raveging "His" creations. Now that Adonalsium has become but a shadow of "His" previous self, "His" power shatters, and seeks out thoes individuals that imboddied their opposite atributes, looking to change the worst into their Perfection. What do you all think of my version of the Shattering? I like it because it also explanes where that force is now. I'm not the only one wondering where that force is, am I?- 66 replies
