Argent he/him Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Gods, yes! Her acting is so incredibly amazing, I have to repeatedly remind myself that all of the clones are, in fact, played by a single person. Every episode I am stunned by how individual and unique Tatiana makes them all feel. 1

I can maybe see Helena (when she laughs) and Sarah (which is totally amazeballs, because they are supposed to be the most related) being the same person, but Alison, Cosima, and Rachel are all distinct in my head.

Argent he/him Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 It does start off a little harsh, I guess. I guess now that I think about it, Sarah is probably the least likeable clone. Which, for some reason, strikes me as really weird.
Iredomi Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 (edited) She really does start out as this sort of anti-hero type character, but as the series goes on this changes significantly. But I've always reckoned that if you don't like the first episode then the rest aren't going to do it for you, even though it starts off quite differently to how it is going to continue on. If Orphan Black is anything it is thought provoking and weirdOf course in regards to the rather questionable morality of Felix and Sarah, I wonder what it would have been like if it started from another of the less abrasive character's journey's... Edit: Tatiana Maslany's performance for Orphan Black is pretty incredible. She is one of the best actresses on tv today actually on any screen. Edited July 21, 2014 by Iredomi 1

If you aren't a fan of the show you're not a fan, but I'd suggest giving it another go just so that you can appreciate her amazing acting skills. Ummm, god yea. Whenever the clones are in the same room I get about half way through the scene then say " oh god. It's all one actor." Truly incredible the way she can make each character unique but still have them share certain characteristics. Which is your favourite? Mines Helena because she is bat-dung cray. I mean what she did to the main proleathian... that was scary.

For some reason I am left with the impression that she heals abnormally fast, and she is definitely way more perceptive than a kid her age deserves to be. 2

She should have broken at least some of her ribs. She knew that Helena was outside the house before she got hit by the car. She also knew that Cal was her father, no child is that intelligent.
Reiyeka she/her Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Ummm...yes, Tatiana Maslany is awesome. The show does have some plot things here and there where it's just like, "ahhhh, why did she do that, that was stupid," or "how is she stiiiiill getting away with this." But I continue watching because her performance has me hooked. She does such a great job, especially when she is one of the clones pretending to be one of the other clones. Ugh, it's great! I heart Cosima, but I think Alison might be tied for my favorite. She seems more grounded in reality than the other ones. Sure, she's paranoid, but for good reason, crazy stuff is always happening. Sometimes she seems like the only one who is actually scared of the consequences of all the clone tomfoolery.

SmurfAquamarineBodies he/him Posted July 23, 2014 Author Posted July 23, 2014 Yeah, I recommend watching the show just to see her amazing performance. @Reiveka: There are quite a few little plot holes yes, but I can forgive them because they are writing the bulk of the script as the show comes out. And because Tatiana Maslany is incredible. @Swimmingly: There are several scenes where she is one clone who for whatever reason needs to fool people into thinking she is another clone. Each time it happens it fools me then when it's revealed that it is another clone, I rewatch the scene and can see how that character influences the character they were pretending to be. Yes it does get quite convoluted but that is mostly to show off Tatiana's acting. At least it got renewed for a third season I want to learn about Castor and what happened to Helena.

I noticed that season 1 was mainly focused on plot development but season 2 was more focused on character development. So the clones really become much deeper characters in the second season. Though they still get good development in the first season.
