Shatterer Posted June 11, 2023 Posted June 11, 2023 In WOR we have seen that Sly can sense Odium's presence. I don't know whether it is a Honorspren thing or something else. So my question is when Szeth went to kill Taravangian, his unnamed Highspren could have realized the presence of Odium.

It's possible, but also possible that his spren wasn't there with him. His Highspren isn't like Syl, his more distant, reserved towards Szeth, observes him but barely speaks or shows himself to Szeth. The Highspren didn't even reveal his name to him. It's likely that he wasn't close enough to Szeth to notice Odium's presence. And Taravagian looking into the future points towards this conclusion, RoW ch 113: Quote They think that’s me, Taravangian thought, reading the possible futures. Szeth didn’t see what happened to me spiritually. He doesn’t know Odium was here. Almost all possible futures agreed. Szeth would confess that he’d gone to kill Taravangian, but somehow Taravangian had drawn Nightblood—and the weapon had consumed him. They thought him dead. He was free.... 1
