Don't the Desolations come because of the Heralds showing up? Or vice-versa? They're positively correlated, at the very least.

When the Heralds leave Damnation, the Desolations come to Roshar. I was just taking the view of that planet, which also be the place of the Tranquiline Halls.

From Rosharian terms, I probably should have eritten it as: Are you are Herald? Because with you I can brave any Desolation.
