"No one here can kill me either. What, are you worried that something you say will create a danger?"

"Oh, that's right. I forgot you were immortal."

"That depends on your definition, but you may consider me so. What were you going to ask?"

"Oh, nothing. Just wondered if you could give me an in-depth explanation of how your powers work, and how perception-based magic came about. Probably not the best time right now."

"There isn't too much to say. If Perception magic is practiced today as it was in my time, it probably seems pretty tame, not too useful. The access that a typical or even very gifted person has to Perception is too limited to do anything for very long, especially something complicated like a disguise or invisibility."

"That would explain why I haven't encountered it before." Shimoeth flashed brightly, color returning to his normal yellowish glow. "That's everything I wanted to know. Do you have any other questions for me?"

"Do your powers have any sort of combat application?"

Variance turned to Allera. "I think you're the only one here that can get that."

@Szeth_Pancakes

Allera obliged, tapping a button on the control panel.

"My light powers? I could make a flashbang or produce heat via infrared light. Not very effective. Although I could perhaps kill someone with gamma radiation over a long period of time, it's hard for me to shorten my wavelength that much."

"Okay. One more thing." Variance looked at Shim intently for a moment. Then, a man replaced the spot where he had been.

This should look exactly like he did when he wasn't cursed. To Shim, he is visually I in the body, and can control it, though he can't really  feel it or anything like that.

You can describe Shim if you want. You definitely don't have to, though, since this is very temporary

Surprise covered the Shim's face for a moment, then understanding. "Interesting. Very interesting." Shim's human form was tall, with a pale, thin face and light blond hair. His most striking feature was his eyes, pure black holes that seemed to pull one into eternity. "It's been a long time since I've seen myself in this form. I must thank you."

"You're welcome. I'm afraid it's to taxing for it to be worth keeping up right now, however." Shim returned to normal.

"What's going on," Ayia whispered to Variance.

"We talked. I figured I'd give that a try. It seems that there is a bit more to my abilities than I am aware of."

Shim shone a ray of light on Ayia's hand. "Shimoeth Akladin, greatest necromancer to ever live. Pleasure to make your acquaintance."

"That seems like a tautologically paradoxical title, but okay." Ayia... shook the light. She stuck her hand in her pocket. "Alright, we're gonna need to get going soon. There a few vessels in particular that would work well here."

"Are we going to be at risk of being seen?"

"Well if we can't get rid of him, then he can come with for now." Ayia stuck out her hand to the newcomer. "Ayia, captain of this whacko operation. You?"

@Nameless*

Allera narrowed their eyes at Ayia.
