Variance stood in a corner, form fuzzy. Keeping their captive senseless had taken a lot out of him, and he was definitely worse for wear. "Will my help be needed anytime soon? I should probably know in advance."

"I haven't really been blocking signals so much as making us appear to not exist. It's sort of hard to explain."

And do you really think they let little ships past as long as they are not on their scanners? What do you think happened to their eyes? Went out of their head overnight?"

"No and no. We're far enough from their visual scanners that we'd probably just pick up as an asteroid - if they saw us at all."
