Szeth Pancakes he/they Posted May 27, 2023 Author Posted May 27, 2023 "No; generally it's pretty warm, unless you get close to the poles."
Szeth Pancakes he/they Posted May 27, 2023 Author Posted May 27, 2023 "Depends on what you're looking for."
Channelknight Fadran Posted May 27, 2023 Posted May 27, 2023 "Good enough. Uhm... so are you... a bird?"
Szeth Pancakes he/they Posted May 27, 2023 Author Posted May 27, 2023 "A Winged." Quote Fyi: their appearance is Rito-esque, but more human-sized and with smaller wings in proportion to their body
Channelknight Fadran Posted May 27, 2023 Posted May 27, 2023 "Cool. I'm what you guys might call 'not from around here.'"
Channelknight Fadran Posted May 27, 2023 Posted May 27, 2023 "Interplanetary travel is a thing around here, right?"
Szeth Pancakes he/they Posted May 27, 2023 Author Posted May 27, 2023 "Yes." Allera paused for a moment. "How... would you not know that? Where are you from, anyway?"
Channelknight Fadran Posted May 27, 2023 Posted May 27, 2023 Ayia squinted up in a sort of concerned furrow. "Not... here. Or anywhere near here. Listen, can we touch down for a few minutes? I can... explain my situation."
Szeth Pancakes he/they Posted May 27, 2023 Author Posted May 27, 2023 Allera looked behind them nervously. The stardragon wasn't anywhere within eyesight, but it was hard to tell with the storm. "Follow me," they said, flying off quickly, but at a pace they were reasonably sure Ayia could follow.

Quote how's the lighting rn?
Szeth Pancakes he/they Posted May 27, 2023 Author Posted May 27, 2023 Just now, Channelknight Fadran said: how's the lighting rn? Quote Pretty bad. It's evening-ish, and the storm's definitely not helping.
Channelknight Fadran Posted May 27, 2023 Posted May 27, 2023 Quote Great. Ayia's 'flight' will be revealed in time, then just timeskip to... wherever it is we're going?
Szeth Pancakes he/they Posted May 27, 2023 Author Posted May 27, 2023 The cave, which opened up on the side of a hill, appeared in front of Allera suddenly; giving the impression of a monster's gaping maw, about to swallow them whole. Inside, it was dark, and smelled vaguely musty; Allera groped around inside until they found where they had attached a torch to the wall. As they curled their wing around it, the red stone embedded in their forehead began to glow, and a small fire erupted from the top of the torch, illuminating the stone walls of the cave. Allera gestured for Ayia to follow, then, on foot, delved deeper into the cave.
Szeth Pancakes he/they Posted May 27, 2023 Author Posted May 27, 2023 Allera thought for a moment. "Lyri," they decided.
Szeth Pancakes he/they Posted May 28, 2023 Author Posted May 28, 2023 Allera didn't know if they should feel complimented or offended, so they stayed silent and continued walking, their claws making clack-clack noises on the stone ground.
Channelknight Fadran Posted May 28, 2023 Posted May 28, 2023 "So you guys have interplanetary travel here? Is that, like... spaceships? Or portals?"
Szeth Pancakes he/they Posted May 28, 2023 Author Posted May 28, 2023 "Spaceships. Hyperdrives." It was unsettling having to explain something that, in their mind, everyone knew. The basic facts of the universe.
Channelknight Fadran Posted May 28, 2023 Posted May 28, 2023 "Great. Yeah, I got here because of portal opened up in the middle of nowhere and dropped me into that storm out there."
Szeth Pancakes he/they Posted May 28, 2023 Author Posted May 28, 2023 "Where are you from, anyway? Another... galaxy?"
Channelknight Fadran Posted May 28, 2023 Posted May 28, 2023 Ayia shrugged. "Probably? Maybe? It's a little complicated, but basically I'm not from... here."
Szeth Pancakes he/they Posted May 28, 2023 Author Posted May 28, 2023 Great. Thanks. That helps so much. "So... if 'where are you from' is the wrong question... would 'who are you' be a better one?" Allera raised their beak at Ayia - a Winged gesture of kindness, though they realized that the person might not know what it meant.
