Rhythm of Discord Posted May 19, 2023 Posted May 19, 2023 What would happen if someone got there hands on 2 Honorblades? Would they gain access to 4 Surges? Would the user get access to like 6 Surge combos? Could someone bond to more than 2 Honorblades? What do you guys think?

You can bond more than 1 Honorblade, and you would get all Surges they grant - 4 from two blades. You can bond more, you could bond all 10. 5 is enough to grant you all 10 Surges. Resonances would be tricky, as the more powers you have, the weaker resonances get. Likely Honorblades don't give resonances at all, or give something weaker. Spoiler Aradanftw Let's say you wanted to be the Mistborn equivalent of a Surgebinder, having all ten Surges, would the best way to do that to bond at least five Honorblades or can you bond more than one spren? Brandon Sanderson You could bond five Honorblades. That'd be the easiest way by far. Because convincing multiple spren to bond you is going to be really tough, so by far the easiest way is just to get... you'd actually need all ten Honor... No, you'd need five Honorblades for the five... Yeah. Aradanftw You'd have to get the right ones. Brandon Sanderson You'd have to get the right ones and then you'd have all ten. Aradanftw And then, there's nothing wrong with bonding five individual Blades? You don't have to have five arms? Brandon Sanderson You do not have to have five arms. You could bond five Blades if you wanted to. Aradanftw Really cool. Thank you. Brandon Sanderson Particularly Honorblades. Aradanftw They're special. Brandon Sanderson Mhm. Starsight Release Party (Nov. 26, 2019) Spoiler OrangeJedi Do Mistborn have resonances? Brandon Sanderson *Hesitantly* Everybody does, but they're not as pronounced. OrangeJedi Is that because they just have so many powers? Brandon Sanderson Yeah. Orem Signing (March 16, 2019) Spoiler Ray745 You have stated that each Knights Radiant Order gets their own unique ability, for lack of a better word, due to the combination of their Surges. For instance, you have stated this ability for the Windrunners is strength of squires. My question - is this due to the Nahel bond, or just inherent in the Surges combining. Would a non-Radiant get these abilities from the Honorblades, or would they be out of luck due to no Nahel bond? Brandon Sanderson Good question! The unique abilities have more to do with the powers interacting, same as how Twinborn will often manifest some odd side effects of the powers interacting. But there are limitations. For example, Jezrien didn't actually have any squires, as none of the Heralds did. General Reddit 2016 (Oct. 4, 2016) 2
Rhythm of Discord Posted May 19, 2023 Author Posted May 19, 2023 Would someone who had bonded to multiple blades also have access to like 6 surge combos like how windrunners have reverse lashing which is 2 surges working in tandem?

Hard to say. Most orders don't have that distinctive "combos" like Windrunners do. Like what Edgedancers have? It might be that because all powers are granted by separate Honorblades, you won't get anything more than normal Radiant orders get. Or you would get something more subtle, some weird little things that you can do with Gravity and Progression, because of how those powers interact together. However there is nothing on this, no information, no WoB, that's all speculative at this time. 1
cometaryorbit Posted May 20, 2023 Posted May 20, 2023 It would be so cool if we actually got to see this. Hopefully with someone competent and used to Surges, Amaram's use of all Ten (or nine?) Surges was kind of underwhelming.
