Valence sighed, very tempted to just knock the attacker out. "This guard was probably defending his commrade, but that is irrelevant. Regardless, by all that was, is, and may yet be, I promise that you will not be attacked if you come peacefully and calmly. This needs to be sorted out in a calmer environment where both sides of the story can be heard."

Valence sighed mentally. This conversation was a loop, one with no end in sight. And who knew how long the half-bound Guard had before his soul moved on. Not bothering to respond to Myrto, he hit him on the temple with an economical blow designed to knock him out.
