Rayvyn eyed her suspiciously. “Who are you?” She asked. “Should I kill you or are you going to put that down, slowly, and behave?”

Rayvyn stepped forward, placing a knife by her throat and another near her hands. “How much do you value your fingers?”

No one steals Rayvyn’s knives. She has them back before Enter knows what happened. “What does that mean?” Rayvyn asked, a dangerous gleam in her eyes. She pressed her knives a little harder. “My…friends…may want you to live, but I have no such limitations.”

Gone looks at Tacien, ignoring the commotion around them. "Hello," he says. "I'm Gone."

Yes. I know.

Klave stepped into the shed. This feels almost too easy. I thought the organization would be bigger than two people hiding out in a shed.

The device began pulling at her essence, as though trying to absorb something from her. It made her extremely nauseated to the point of vomiting.

Tacien just stared at him, terrified.

Rayvyn nods to the others, but doesn’t move her knives. “Why did you take him?”

Should I get a message telling me to kill Tacien now?

Why not? Go ahead

"Knowledge," she whispered. "All of it. You know not what you have."

Marilyn covered her mouth and did everything in her power to keep from vomiting. She kept backing out of the shed trying to ignore the pull.

Now would be a good time for her to drop the device.

Hello, little bird, says a familiar voice in her head. Rayvyn stiffens. I have instructions for you.

Master. I got roped into a quest. Can—

I know where you are, the voice said. You need to kill the boy.

Gone?

No. The other one. Tacien.

But—

You swore an oath, little bird. Do it, or there will be consequences.

Then the voice is gone. Rayvyn falls to the floor, shaking.

Klave frowns, looking from Rayvyn to the woman. "What did you do to her?"

"Nothing." She stood up and began walking outside.

Klave held out a hand, wall of flames shooting from his right hand, blocking the woman's path. "You don't get to leave so easily."

Marilyn sat up a little. "Don't let her take the thingy but also not a good idea to touch it."
