Tamriel Wolfsbaine Posted December 22, 2022 Posted December 22, 2022 Was the aluminum Hoid brought to Azure on Roshar all soulcast by he himself? Is this a trick he is letting out to others or is he keeping it close to himself? Was that metal known by other characters native to roshar before?

Rosharans are aware of the metal, especially the more scholarly types. They call it Ralkalest (I believe Taravangian mentions it as a metal that falls from the sky). Some of the OG Knights Radiant also used in in Urithiru. It comes up in Rhythm of War and Dawnshard as well, utilized in fabrial science. I could be wrong, but I believe that Hoid supplied the aluminum from off world as he wasn't able to Soulcast until the end of Oathbringer. Hope that helps! 2

Hoid almost certainly got the aluminum from offworld, as we see it on worlds like Scadrial, and Hoid couldn’t Soulcast until the end of Oathbringer, as you said. It’s possible he got it from a hidden Radiant stash somewhere on Roshar, as Radiants could’ve used it in other locations aside from Urithiru. But, as is always true when it comes to our dear friend Hoid, we just don’t know. “There is always another secret”
