Theoretically, could you use a wooden handle and form the Shardblade into a ring with the handle in the middle? If so, would you then be able to lash the wooden handle and launch the weapon through basically anything? Just contemplating potential uses down the line

The problem would then be, if you release the "blade" to recall it, you have also "lost" the handle (and it won't come back).

However, if you don't mind "disposable" handles, you would probably easily have a collection of cloth/leather/wood "handles" that are hollow on the inside. A living blade should be able to "congeal" where and how desired, so if it became a chakram with the center post already though the hollow handle you lash that and just try to collect the "empties" after the fight (knowing you'll never find them all). . .

I feel like that's an acceptable loss. A few wooden handles for ranged, nearly unblockable weapons that can permanently disable body parts of nearly anyone. Especially since you could probably use just about any roughly handle shaped object you pick up once you practice forming the blade
