Rysn and Dawnshards?

so i’ve read Dawnshard but i still don’t understand what Rysn’s importance is and what a dawnshard is…

So on a Cosmere sense Rysn is only important in that she's around important things like Larkin and Dawnshards.

In the book she just owns the right ship.

Dawnshards are massive magic amplifiers that put surgebinding on levels capable of destroying planets. And we're the weapons used to kill Adonalsium.
