"Out," Vicius replied. "We have a hover carriage- we should be able to catch up to the envoy before they make it back to the Queen. Hopefully we are not too late."

"No," replied Vicius. "Ours is not Named- though it does have a unique feature that is of particular value to us."

They reached the exit of the tunnel, which lay in the shadow of the floating mountain above. Vicius strode confidently over to a patch of empty ground.

Hyron blinked, then, lacking the trademark stupidity of a main character, realized the carriage was related to it, and Vicius wasn't being dumb.

Vicius reached out into the empty air. It shimmered, resolving into the shape of a carriage that floated above the ground, similar to the one the group had stolen earlier. Unlike the other carriage, however, this one looked battered and worn, with no golden decorations.

Vicius hopped into the front seat, gesturing for the others to follow.

Miyako grumbled as she climbed into the back. "I've seen more impressive invisible carriages. This one barely scrapes the bottom of the list." She riffled around in her backpack and came out with a large smile. She handed Hyron a blanket wrapped around a round object. "That 'bout five -currency-."

Those are pretty experimental though. Besides that...you guys are probably best suited for this. This isn't really my expertise. I'll stay up here and work on active rune circles and decoding more of the language."

Vicius pulled up hard on the control lever, shooting the carriage into the air. He lifted the spyglass to his eye and muttered another curse.

"They're already halfway back," he stated. "They do not look as though they have yet been possessed. Perhaps the Queen wishes to meet with them in person? Even so, it will be tough to beat them there."
