That's kind of crazy. Is yours more than a string orchestra?

Nope, he did say he had to transpose flute music for a class and that was why he called them flutes.

Okay fellow strings players, I will not let this thread die. Why are there so many scudding cellists here?!?

Because the cello is the best instrument, little contest, we got a violin to agree that cellos are better yesterday and it was fun.

What instrument do you play?

Violin, you fool. (Okay, I just have to say, cello is pretty good. It’s my second favorite.)

Oops. Forgot to quote you.

Just saying, double bass is better.

Also, I picked viola because I was told it would sound like the cello but be easier to carry. (I think I misinterpreted something back in 4th grade)

Yes you did, you should have chosen the cello. It's not that hard to carry around and it can make beautiful sounds.

I understand that this is supposed to be a section for all strings but let me just say this is quite blasphemous.

Which part?

Cellos are obviously the best instrument in the orchestra. violins, violas, and basses are good, but cellos are clearly the best (In other words, all the instruments are good, I'm just biased as a cello player, but that's how it is for most people who play instruments)

That isn‘t blasphemous. You‘re being blasphemous.

I will move away from this argument. Does anyone have good music they are playing this year.

Our bases would say no, but they almost always seem to rarely get good music :P. Got the best cello music of a long time this year.

Yeah, poor bases. My music isn't fun, but at least we have notes. So, it's technically better than last year.

Oh yeah, we did research in orchestra today, by watching a few short clips from beauty and the beast :D.

So do you have music from beauty and the beast or…

Yeah, we're playing it in class, it has some pretty good cello music for a disney piece. The basses absolutely hate it.

Well that’s nice. I would have never guessed. Except the part about the basses. They rarely get to play anything good. Wich is just unfair.

It is their part in the orchestra. I do feel bad for them, but at least most of the bassists seem good natured about it.

Ooh what'd they play?

I can't remember the names, but they played two jazz songs, then a funk song, and finally the school pride song, but jazz, as arranged by one of the saxophonists.
