Theory on Trell or Trellagism and Trellism and the nomenclature about the two.

There is Trellism and there is Trelagism.

The 'agi' part of Trelagism sounds familiar like 'urgy' of 'Hemalurgy' and it also sounds like 'ati', as in Ati and Atium (idk what hemalurgy could have to do with this but it's interesting nonetheless to Me).

In 'Lerasium' the 'asium' part sounds like 'Atium' and if you remove the 'Trel' from 'Trelagism', and Miles called the religion Trellism isntead of Trelagism for some reason so it could be relevant, and you have 'agism' which sounds a lot like 'Atium' too.

L - eras, Lerasium, Atium ('atium' resembles 'asium')

L - 'lagism', Ati (as in Ati from 'agi')

I think that Leras and Ati were actually the same person and that's why these similarities are so striking (well to Me at least) and that is why it's said, like by Allik in BoM, that Preservation and Ruin were always together, the same, yet always apart, and He/She is returning as Trell to be or bring about Discord.

Before I begin responding, could you please confirm which Mistborn books you have (and have not) read (so as to avoid Spoilers if you haven't read all six novels, the Novella, and both short stories)?

As @Treamayne said, it would be important to know what you've read so not to spoil you, however I can already say:

you're breaking the word up differently than how it is formed. It's Leras + -ium, which is an ending for metals (like Aluminium or calcium)

Scadrial is older than any of the religions on it. Your argument makes it sound like Atium was somehow an older word than Lerasium (which, granted, it could be, but the metals are both the same age), and that... could you rephrase what your argument is? That because the Trellism is right and Preservation and Ruin were the same, Leras and Ati were the same person too, and that's why they removed part of the name?

I think it's a lot simpler tbh. There's a god that people believe in, Trell. There used to be a religion that believed in Trell, but they called it different. Like how some Christian groups will always name Jesus first as their God and Lord, while others will name God. It's the same being, but they talk about it differently.

The fact that Lerasium and Atium sound similar is because they have the same ending, and that's because godmetal names are formed like that.

Yeah, Leras dies shortly after his conversation with Elend (as the mist-spirit) while Ati dies only when Vin sacrifices herself to kill him.

And both bodies are described distinctly different when Kelsier sees them in Secret History and when they appear in the physical realm after the death of the Vessel. More specifically:

Leras

MSH Ch 1-1

Quote

“You let him kill you.”

Kelsier spun, surprised to find a person standing beside him. Not a figure made of mist, but a man in strange clothing: a thin wool coat that went down almost to his feet, and beneath it a shirt that laced closed, with a kind of conical skirt. That was tied with a belt that had a bone-handled knife stuck through a loop.

The man was short, with black hair and a prominent nose. Unlike the other people—who were made of light—this man looked normal, like Kelsier.

HoA Ch 56

Quote

If Elend had waited just a few more minutes on that ashen field, he would have seen a body—short of stature, black hair, prominent nose—fall from the mists and slump dead into the ash.

As it was, the corpse was left alone to be buried in ash. The world was dying. Its gods had to die with it.

Ati

MSH Ch 4-4

The figure wore robes and had bright, flame-red hair. He bore a welcoming smile, but Kelsier could see spines beneath the surface of his skin.

HoA Ch 82:

Sazed fell to his knees, grabbing Vin by the shoulders. Beside her, atop the pile of dead koloss, lay another body. It was that of a man with red hair, one whom Sazed did not recognize.

MSH Ch 6-8

Or ... no, it wasn’t Ruin any longer. It was just the Vessel, Ati. The man who had held the power. Ati ran his hand through his red hair, then looked about. “Vax?” he said, sounding confused.

“Excuse me,” Kelsier said to Vin, then released her and trotted over to the red-haired man.

Whereupon he decked the man across the face, laying him out completely.
