Casual Ati Enjoyer she/her Posted July 4, 2022 Posted July 4, 2022 I wanted my sisters to read SA, so I volunteered myself to read it out loud. It's been three weeks, and we're on page 930. I'm considering making them read it or listen to the audio book, because STORMS my throat hurts. But it's worth it to see my sisters in the same Kaladin-flavored pain I was. 9

I once tried to read a brother the first book in the Five Kingdoms series, and I couldn't get past the first few chapters. You have some serious commitment. 1
The Wandering Wizard he/him Posted July 5, 2022 Posted July 5, 2022 My dad used to read me and my brother books, at least untill I decided he wasn't reading fast enough and I started reading the books to myself.

I can't allow them to finish before they experience the salty sad boy in all his glory
Suda21 Posted July 6, 2022 Posted July 6, 2022 You are doing the Stormfathers work! I know how hard it is to read out loud. I used to read to my dog to help me work on fixing my speech impediment. It is not easy at all but your are so committed! I wish I had that drive! The paint you feel is both the pain of glory and also your throat giving out. 1
cometaryorbit Posted July 6, 2022 Posted July 6, 2022 I've read mistborn era 1 out loud but Stormlight, now that's long...
Casual Ati Enjoyer she/her Posted July 6, 2022 Author Posted July 6, 2022 I figure if the characters can live the story, the least I can do is tell it... though maybe I should've started with something shorter.
Olmund Posted July 8, 2022 Posted July 8, 2022 I've read 2 of the 4 Stormlight books aloud to my wife. It is a workout, but it's a lot of fun doing the voices.
