Adolin Dustbringer
I am rereading Way of Kings and something in the prelude unsettled me. In the Prelude there were 7 honor blades, if we add Taln's and Kelek's blades that would make them 9, where is the last one?
Chaos
Hi, the 17th Shard Discussion board is for discussion of website matters itself, not book discussion. I have moved this to the Stormlight board.
LuckyJim
I assume Jezrien hadn't given his up yet, he was waiting for Kalak first before he was going to plant his in the circle with the others.

This is pretty convincing, but I would wait a little more, maybe someone has an answer for it.

It's pretty well implied that Kalak and Jezrien are still holding their blades when they begin their discussion in the Prologue: Spoiler “What is this, Jezrien?” Kalak asked. “Where are the others?” “Departed.” Jezrien’s voice was calm, deep, regal. Though he hadn’t worn a crown in centuries, his royal manner lingered. He always seemed to know what to do. “You might call it a miracle. Only one of us died this time.” “Talenel,” Kalak said. His was the only Blade unaccounted for. “Yes. He died holding that passage by the northern waterway.” Which is further confirmed by Dalinar's vision in Oathbringer (Ch 38) and shows what happened after Kalak and Jezrien both departed: Spoiler He knew the path to take, one that led him and Navani across the field of corpses, then into a shadowed recess beneath a tall rocky spire. The light had caught on the rocks here, intriguing him. Before, he thought he’d wandered into this place by accident, but in truth the entire vision had pointed him at this moment. Here, they found nine Shardblades rammed into the stone. Abandoned. Navani put her gloved safehand to her mouth at the sight—nine beautiful Blades, each a treasure, simply left here? Why and how? Dalinar stepped through the shadows, rounding the nine Blades. This was another image he’d misunderstood when living this vision the first time. These weren’t just Shardblades. “Ash’s eyes,” Navani said, pointing. “I recognize that one, Dalinar. It’s the one…” “The one that killed Gavilar,” Dalinar said, stopping beside the plainest Blade, long and thin. “The weapon of the Assassin in White. It’s an Honorblade. They all are.” Edited June 30, 2022 by Treamayne
Letryx13
The last blade is Taln's He's the only one of the Heralds that was killed during that desolation, so he's the only one that went to Braize. This is basically confirmed in RoW. Spoiler "And of course, the blade of the StoneWards was never ours to protect." Szeth, answering Dalinar's question about the Shin having the HonorBlades.
