The woman stood in silence for a moment.

She turned to her party. "Take these two-" she gestured to Insa and Bookwyrm- "to the village. I'm staying here to help this one." She pointed to Rabbit.

"My name is Kalra," she said to Rabbit. "Let's figure out what's going on with you, shall we?"

“Sure, but there’s not much to figure out.” She says, “I mean, I have to kill someone. Then I’ll be able to leave here.”

Kalra nodded. "I meant why. And..." she gestured to the unconscious Gak. "Would he work?"

Insa starts to follow.

The remaining travellers, led by the one in the green Mistcloak, led Insa towards the village. They entered through the front gate and into a town that was more civilized than what one might expect. There were houses made of stone along with those of wood and sod, and in the center, there was a large mansion-like building. The town was lively, filled with people working and children playing, and most of them seemed quite happy to see their friends and family return. They also seemed to be respectful towards Insa, giving her nods and smiles and friendly little waves. Most of them were concerned about the unconscious Bookwyrm in one of the warrior's arms.

The travellers took Insa and the unconscious Bookwyrm to the large central building. On the inside, it seemed to be both some kind of government facility and an inn, with rooms for staying in on either side. The male warriors, which consisted of the Mistborn, the large one carrying Bookwyrm, and another fighter, turned to the left.

"He'll be fine," one of the women said to Insa. She wore a green tunic and a brown cloak, and held an ornately carved wooden staff. The other woman wore leather armor over her tunic and a deep green cloak, and had a short sword strapped to her waist.

"Come with me," the woman with a staff said. She had light brown skin and wavy brown hair, and eyes that were a startling silver color. "My name is Sivilia. We'll get you settled."

“Why’s none of your business.” Snaps Rabbit, “And no, the Gak wouldn’t work. You don’t know how many times I’ve tried to use something like him to get out of this prison. It’s ‘blood for blood.’ That means I can only use… you know.” She turns away. “Maybe I should just stay here. No one gets hurt, and you’re all happy.”

And now she was scared. If she couldn't control this she could hurt a lot of people on accident. The strength of the current flowing through her kept fluctuating and the stronger it was the more it wanted to leave. And she wasn't sure she could stop it.  "You can help me not do... that... right?

Telrao is extremely delighted to be permitted into the clinic. She sniffs at Shadow, who glances at her with some disdain. In the distance, she can hear extremely cringe-worth straw puns.

Those are STRAWFUL. She thinks to herself as she explores the house, watching a couple of the humans talking about a ring - something about a marriage? Humans are so strange.

Suddenly, Telrao's "Someone's stuck" tingle. She finds the wall that @The Halcyon Girl is stuck in. She places a paw against the wall, pushing her conscience into it, searching for Halcy's.

Greetings, human.
You appear to be content to remain in a wall,
But you are missing out on so much withall,
So withdraw from your refuge
and open your eyes
See, I will give your therapy,
And a mild rest from insanity.

Content with her spur-of-the-moment message, Telrao waits for Halcy to emerge and/ or reply. She curls into a fluffy loaf, patient.

It's probably worth mentioning that Haly is not in the clinic, so this doesn't make a lot of sense.

Emma extracts herself from her parents and with a choked sob. And her left hand reaches up to push her hair out of her face, her ring glinting in the light.

"What is that?" Asks Jerrica a grin on her face.

"It's my wedding ring." Emma looks at the surprised looks one her parent's faces and she quickly answers the next question. "To Calano."

And Emma quickly catches them up to their burgeoning grins.

The story Emma tells is long, and during it, her parents sit down. Calano juts in at intervals to give information on something Emma missed.

Calano takes Emma's hand when she starts talking about the First Chicken Siege, and Wizard's death.

Emma's parent's faces fall when they hear about it, and Jerrica begins to quietly cry.

Calano nods. I understand. I'll take over.

"During that time, I lost my life." Calano says, rubbing Emma's hand, "I... went to Limbo. It was dark, and gray in Limbo. There were whispers that told me all sorts of terrible things. It felt like forever I was in there. It was only a year for her."

Calano turns to Emma. "I don't know what she went through. I know that Bookwyrm convinced her to come with him into my mindscape, into my Limbo, to try and save me. When Bookwyrm had tried before to enter my mindscape, I... in my grief and agony, forced him out. But, somewhere deep down, I guess, I realized I couldn't do that to Emma. Not after everything I'd already done before, and not after I'd spent so long rebuilding our relationship."

He pauses, and turns back to the four other adults. "While I was engulfed in my grief, Emma did the only thing she thought she could do to save me. She proposed to me." Calano squeezes Emma's hand.

"That broke me out of my funk, and somehow, saved my life. Of course, I said yes. And then immediately called her a hypocrite, because I had proposed a while ago, and she had said no." This draws laughter from the room. "After that, we planned a wedding, started the search for you four, put that on hold for the wedding, got married, and came and searched for you guys. And we found you."

There is silence for a second, and the door slams open, "Boss!" Cries Freddie, a therapist at the clinic, "We have a problem! Sorry to interrupt, but the patients have organized a revolt and they're tearing down the clinic!"

They're not in the clinic. They are far, far, away and aren't going to come back for a bit. Contact Lark, he's one of Nameless's characters in the clinic instead.

*cracks knuckles* time to absolutely ruin this beautiful moment

Calano kisses Emma's head. "Best decision we ever made."

Joe and Jerrica ask about Wizard again. They struggled to comprehend what Emma told them before, but now they really want to to know the deal.

"Wizard, in order to save us, gave his life. His death released a massive wave of energy, destroying the chickens that sieged us. There's a statue, in the Clinic lobby, of him. And of me apparently, as I died during the Second Siege. Wizard came back shortly before I did, in the form of a tiger. A white tiger. His Guardian. He still lives, kind of. He was at my wedding, but he had other stuff to do, so he couldn't come with us here."

Jerrica bursts into tears, and Joe puts an arm around her shoulder. "Thank you," Joe says. Calano nods.

Insa nodded. "Alright."

Sivilia's companion left for some purpose or another. Sivilia led Insa to one of the rooms on the right wing of the manor-inn. It was of moderate size, not very fancy, but by no means shabby. The wooden walls seemed lived in and welcoming, and a large window on the outer wall let in a generous amount of light and a nice view. The bed looked comfortable, and there was a desk, a vanity, and a door that must have led to a side room.

"You can stay here while your friend heals," Sivilia said. "And don't worry. Even without the help of our healers, he's surprisingly resilient. Most likely because of his magic." Sivilia put a comforting hand on Insa's shoulders. "He'll be fine. And I'm sure he'll forgive you."

***

Bookwyrm floated in darkness.

Something had happened...with Insa....she was still learning to use her powers. It was fine, but they'd have to work on it.

Bookwyrm became aware what was around him. He could faintly sense his physical self, resting in an unfamiliar place. But that wasn't his focus at the time. In his mindscape, Bookwyrm saw the space between universes, and the many dimensions that made up the Clinic's universe. The one he was in currently was one of the largest, as was the universe where he detected Calano and Emma's consciousness.

Something drew Bookwyrm's attention. Coming from the Prison dimension, a small tendril of Kaos wormed it's way through the interdimensional medium.

It was heading towards Calano and Emma.

I have to warn them.

But as Bookwyrm tried to send a message, something blocked it. It wasn't letting a mental communication to get through.

They're in trouble...

Bookwyrm forced himself awake.

I'm furthering the plot, if that's okay. A tendril of Kaos is advancing on the dimension you're visiting.

What exactly that means....I'm not sure.

Calano felt... something. A feeling.

An urge. A warning.

He stood, and went to the window, looking up at the sky.

And saw... nothing.

That couldn't be true.

Bookwyrm? Are you there?

No response.

Crud. Something was going on, and it wasn't good. He went back to the group. "Ok, everyone, listen up. This is sudden, I know. I'm sorry. But we all need to leave. Something is happening, or something is coming, I don't know. Something's going on. I know a safe place. The Clinic."

You'd have to say it again and summon Nameless as Lark, basically.
