This is my first post so apologies if I didn't do this correctly.

I think we finally got further confirmation on that Chanarach x Shallan mother theory that's been ongoing for years now. That new stormlight 5 prologue reveal had some interesting tidbits that I think point to this theory inching ever closer towards confirmation. For one we had the very random throwaway comment by Gavilar asking about Chanarach's hair color being fire red - why include that if not to remind the reader about another redhead in the series, our favorite messy queen Shallan. What really takes the cake though is the Stormfather confirming a herald died right before Gavilar's assassination, the timing of which matches up (in theory since they happen the same year) with Shallan killing her mother. Brandon did say Taln never broke... The whole thing with the Everstorm work around muddies that thought process, but to be fair we still don't really know what's going on with that anyway. What are we thinking?!

What are you talking about? Did brandon do some secret reading of the prologue or something?

Accordingly, I do think this is an inappropriate forum for that discussion.

I'm not sure what the appropriate forum WOULD be, but probably in Stormlight.

Ok, it's here:
