Music Music: expression. For me and the artist. Or the artist in me.   Restless I lay in my bed, covers askew, Tossing and turning, Shivers then sweat.   Each time I drift, I awaken again.   I try to relax, But comfort is fleeting.   At some unknown time, I fall to sleep. Yet my brain takes notice, And drags me away.   I sit up in bed, Tired…or not? Wishing, o’ wishing, I would

More poems! Some of the prompts I got from users.   “Small Text Files” More information, Reject all. Click, Click, Click. Save options.   Mess Built, contained, Stored, hidden.   Too much, crammed in. Others take notice, or don’t.   Spilled, overflowing. Too much, too long.   Relief, outpouring. Better, at last.   Stung Heart throat eyes, stung. Pain lump tears, contained. Held

Me I gaze upon the reflection, And who do I see? Is that me, Who I want to be?   What? What, which? Thoughts, feelings, Thought-new, realized-old. Who, why? Right, wrong?   Change Reading, seeing. Realizing, thinking. Comparing, viewing. New, old, same.   Want? What is it that I want? What is it that I dream? Do I want what I want? Do I want what I think? Will I know what I wan

9/1/2026: Sapience in only 300 million years?

I'd decided to play a game of Bios: Megafauna, since there was I power outage then and I didn't have anything better to do. I wasn't using the actual solo rules, because those had become too easy on both Earth and Mars (I intend to tackle Venus another time). I was instead playing multi-hand, so I was controlling all four players using default Earth rules. Really early on, Laurentia, the craton with Player Orange (hydroskeletal, so mollusks, annelids, etc), collided with Baltica, the c

2026/01/09 (More poems...!!)

Lots of poems today! Yeah... *gulp* (Poems begin after the following story.)   Complicated For Nora, immortality was…complicated. Some of it was the loneliness and loss that everyone talked about. Some of it was thinking of all you could have done in a time far-gone. Over time, Nora had learned how to let years pass like weeks. But sometimes she missed something. Or felt like she did. Truth was, you only realized what you missed after the fact. Nora could do nearly anyth

2026/01/08 (Poems!)

Note: I made a lot of poems or poem-esque in the second half of this day's (which was actually yesterday!) chunk of writing. So...hope you enjoy! You might not understand all the poems, but isn't that sometimes the point?   Dreams She dreamt of him again that night. The mystery boy. She didn’t know him, but almost felt like she did. And when she woke up, she missed him—or the dream. She just wanted to ignore that irritating alarm and drift back to sleep—back to him. She knew she c

Choice Amber didn’t know how to proceed. Who would? Much less someone who hadn’t thought about it as much as they should. Amber had told herself she would consider both options, that had been weeks ago. She had thought that would be plenty of time. But then the days had slipped by, and…here she was.   Some days I only write one or a few stories, but next post (which should be posted in a few minutes) will have lots more! (Including some poems, which I've rarely written before this

Transcendance: Chapter 1

They speak of the Shards as gods. Distant, powerful, inevitable forces. But they forget the truth: each was once a person. A mortal with hands, a face, and a heart that beats with fear.   Torshi ran down the wet pavement. Today, it was cold and raining in Edöl, the capital city of Altaakanûl. This was not normal. Altaakanûl was a world of three suns and perpetual, warm daylight.    Its people, the Kanûlians, were a sun-worshipping culture whose very essence—their Identity—was

Those Among the Stars: Chapter One

‘BEEP BEEP BEEP’ I rub my eyes and look at the room around me. The curtains are closed which creates a dim glow eminating from the window. As I sit up I look at my calendar. It was August 11th. Tuesday. Wait, Tuesday? The 11th? It was not just a normal Tuesday. It was the Tuesday. The Tuesday I had been waiting for my whole life! The entire point of my existence! The sole thing to keep me going through my long and arduous days. Today I was going to Aldwyns! I leap out of bed

Transcendance: Prologue

The power was a scream—not a sound, but a powerful force in the Spiritual Realm that violently bled into the Cognitive and Physical Realms. It had no name or purpose because its Vessel had been killed right after the Shattering of Adonalsium, during the first conflicts between the new gods. Its raw power had been left untouched for thousands of years, a wild and untamed force.   Aris, a scholar of Realmic theory, had spent her life studying this power. She knew that an untended Shard w

I decided to post another set of stories today so that I can finish catching up tomorrow.   Ready He was ready. He had packed supplies, made numerous plans, and waited for this moment. As the metal beast continued descending, heedless of the skyscrapers, he went through the plan one more time. First, he would find a way inside the vessel. The rest of the plan would crumble like those buildings if he didn’t. Since the ship was landing, that would make getting onboard easier. O

Note: I am reposting this since I accidentally published it out-of-order.   A Different Life Everyone moved slowly except for Lucy. They had done so for as long as she could remember, and had grown accustomed to it at this point. She sat, sketching the scene of the lecture hall before her, as the professor slogged through the lesson on character development, one word at a time. With so much more time than everyone else, Lucy had explored and developed several interests—from art to

The Essay Peter stared mindlessly at the blank white screen before him. He hadn’t moved in an hour. He knew he had to finish the essay by tonight, and it was already nearing evening. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t think of anything. He decided to take a short break. Maybe a walk around campus would do him some good? And so, Peter strolled on the rainy day on the concrete walkways of his university campus. He tried to enjoy the fresh air, but found his mind returning to the to

8/1/2026: Terraformed in only Eleven Generations

So I played Terraforming Mars with my brother and another non-Sharder non-Sanderfan friend of mine. We were playing with Corporate Era and no expansions. I was ThorGate, my brother was Mining Guild, and the other person was EcoLine.  One really good thing that happened to me was that as one of the starting ten cards, I got Aquifer Pumping, which was arguably one of the best cards in the game. It's a blue card and costs 18 to play, and it's action is that you can spend 8 MC to get an ocean.

Origins of Ideas

Hi everyone! This is my first post in my story of how I realized I was trans! Alright, let’s get right into it. So, it was during the COVID-19 pandemic for me, which meant the strange, isolated world of online school. Like many people during that time, I found myself with basically unlimited internet access and a lot of quiet hours to fill while the world outside seemed to stand still. I was spending my afternoons watching YouTube, like anyone would, just trying to pass the time between Zoo

Welcome!!!

Hi everyone! I'm Akimikoisthecutest, if you don't already know, and I'm a trans woman! Here I'm going to share my story with you all! My first actual post should show up soon (I thought I scheduled it for noon today, but I guess not.) Sooo, yeah! Here we go!

Hungry     His stomach growled, but he couldn’t sate it. Not yet. He still had patients to deal with. As the next one—a young man—entered, he forced himself to focus on anything other than his hunger. Each time he finished the meager rations, he looked forward to the next meal—if you could call it one.     His patient turned out to have signs of that new sickness that was rampant in these parts. He hoped he hadn’t caught it. The sickness hadn’t claimed any lives…yet. Though it was also fairl

The Moment It was time. The moment he’d been waiting for all his life. Pack on his shoulder, he squinted up at the midday sky where the large reflective vessel was descending. All around him, people were standing, bewildered, in the streets. Cars were stopped, with people leaning out the windows or getting out to gaze at the metallic beast from beyond.   Highway I rolled down the driver-side window and gazed through the windshield at the landscape passing alongside the highway. Roc

6/1/2025: Mentat

I played solo Dune: Imperium Uprising. I'd played many times before, but this time was the first I played on Mentat difficulty, which makes the bots stronger. My leader was Princess Irulan, and I randomly drew two rivals, which turned out to be Staban Tuek and Princess Irulan (yes, I'm playing against myself) Both had a high Swordmaster value, which was good since I hadn't played Mentat. Really early on, I started using my Signet Ring ability to cut down my deck. For whatever reas

Note: this post was from Jan 1., which is the reason for the title. I will be posting the stories I wrote in the past week over the course of a few days until I am caught up. I will still be writing stories each day (as I did today), but I won't post them for a few days - to avoid messing up the order on the blog. Enjoy!   Forgiven He forgave her. It hadn’t been her fault, nor his. It was their doing all along, those deceivers. He held out his arms, and they embraced one another

2025/12/31

Note: this entry is entitled "2025/12/31" because that is the date I wrote the following stories.   The Diary I had a lot of books. Most of them were collecting dust, scarcely touched. One day, I turned from my desk as a loud crash sounded, and books came tumbling down. On top of the pile? My cat, Ivy, sat, licking her paw innocently. I sighed—she was always doing things like this. I carefully shooed Ivy off the books, and the pile shifted precariously. Then I saw it. I had lost it y
