The Splintercast Reads Mistborn: Secret History, Episode 3

Mistborn: Secret History. Also known as, ‘Kelsier Punches Literally All of the Deities.’

Our trip through the Cognitive Realm leads us to some unexpected new acquaintances as we start to leave Scadrial behind… Kelsier makes friends and cons them, because that’s what he does. I go back and forth on how to pronounce the word “Ire” before finally actually figuring it out and we finally figure out what gave Vin the heebie-jeebies before she met with Hoid in Hero of Ages!

Unfortunately, I do have a bit of a confession to make. Despite the fact that the recording says that there is an episode after this... that data has unfortunately been lost. I don’t totally know what happened to the recording, but it’s no longer in my files. I am really upset to have lost it, but after thinking it over, I’m not going to leave you guys hanging right here at the end. Tune back next week for a wrap up and to hear my thoughts on the end!

And I promise I will make 100% sure my good microphone is actually connected this time. Editing the quality on these past few episodes has been terrible, because it just came from my terrible laptop mic. Horrendous. I’ll do much better.

The Steel alphabet version of Aon Ire is sooo cool, I was really proud of myself when I figured that out.  I also figured out the Ire were from Sel/Elantrians the moment Leras spelled the name to Kelsier, because I am obsessed with Aons and so instantly recognized it.

Question, are you planning on doing a Splintercast for White Sand?

I am not, mostly because I finished it a few days ago and didn't even think to record while I did! Ha. It was good. Makes me want to read that very old prose version that I've had forever and just never got around to reading, though. Oops. Bad Cosmere fan. Khriss is so fabulous, though!

Do you ever consider making this a podcast with multiple people? I'm sure you get asked this all the time but it might be nice to have a dialog between multiple people. Although I have only listened to this one so far.

Ah, new listener! I personally haven't done podcasts with multiple people before on Splintercast, though I know the other admins will occasionally do Shardcast, which usually has multiple people! With the nature of Splintercast being me reading things for the first time, it's kind of an individual experience, but I wouldn't be opposed to doing some other kind of other podcast with other people in the future...

That's the plan; the main Shardcast has just had perpetual scheduling issues. There will also be more of the Theory podcast for more theoretical discussion. Soon(tm)
