Benny and the Jets he/him Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 So after reading Secret History and seeing what the Cognitive Realm is like on Scadrial and knowing what it also looks like on Roshar i was wondering what i would look like on Sel? On Scadrial its mists, Roshar its little orbs things so if we're going to follow a pattern would it be glowing light?? Idk, thats what makes the most sense in my head! Since the Aons glow golden i would think maybe the Cognitive Realm would be golden too? 1
Jondesu he/him Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 It's possible, but it's also a crazy dangerous place right now the way the Dor is bottled up in the Cognitive. I suspect before that happened, though, it would have been a place of great symmetry, but also smooth flowing lines. I don't think the other nations on Sel have anything to do with golden light in their magics, though, so that's something that seems to be more uniquely Arelish/Elantrian. Perhaps the Cognitive would be similarly distinguished by the corresponding Physical locations, though? I would love to see the Cognitive Realm for Nalthis. It's probably a mind-boggling explosion of color. jW

What are the other magics on Sel anyways? I mean i remember a little but its been so long since i read the book that i kinda forgot!... I think Nalthis would be cool too! Kinda like your tripping on acid!

With a relative temperature to match.

Yata he/him Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 At the moment I think Sel's Cognitise it's like a permanent HighStorm or something like that.For the "Aon world" I don't think... as far as we see.. There is some hidden logic far less simple than "a world made by Planet's focus" (and in the end, the planet's focus is Form not Aon).

Maybe its just a giant expanse of multidimensional structures with bright light, kinda like your tripping on acid! Really bad acid....

Well, it's likely given what we've heard in M:SH about the sky representing the Spiritual Realm, and the names of the Expanses from the WoK map, that the sky will have a crack in it where the investiture has fallen through into the cognitive. I'm with the others, it'll be some form of symbol that's being used for the actual manifestation of investiture in the cognitive.
