  1. Thanks Duskshard. I will try to analyze the passage, to the best of my knowledge. Ok the almighty created 10 orders of knights with specific purpose. (does rebuild hint about Dalinar thought about how useful the Shardplates would be if the common folk used it?) Ok I'm thinking couple of things here. Can I take it literally? did the knights went on a assignment? did the almighty "called" them and they arrived? The almighty taught the knights something (is it purpose? powers?) The spren, imitating him, gave them something he had given men in general (surgebinding?). Edit: Instead of double post I will add another thing, it's OT but it warrent a lookout. and Why the instruction to create a fortress? Can I assume the old one in the Purelake got destoryed if not why not use it instead? even so Can't they operate without a fortress that can handle the storm? the army did fine with the storm till now. Is the fortress location significant to the location of the enemies? you build a fortress in important place to launch attacks from.
  2. Also wanted to add, I read in other thread about Voidbringers opposite powers to KR's 10. I don't believe there are such powers, just the same 10 with different alignments of the user. Can someone post the excerpt of the Stormfather talking to Dalinar about his surprise the spren copied his power (not the same words ) I just can't find it.
  3. Maybe Dalinar gave himself up into the hands of Eshonai.
  4. What if Jasnah is wrong and the parshendi weren't the voidbringers. If the oathpact is an agreement between Honor and the heralds about giving them spren to bond with and gain powers to lead mankind against the Desolations. What if the voidbringer is actually a nick name put on human who bonded with spren of their own volition without the acceptance of honor, they are not KR officially just renegades with their own agenda. And why everyone against them bonding with spren? could it be they cannot be called KR as the oathpact is shattered (thinking gem here maybe it was shattered in the Shattered Plains) and just be Voidbringers when acted evil -> bring the Everstorm. Maybe we can take it as a clue who are the Voidbringers, Darkness who we believe is one of the heralds think of her as potential voidbringer. Also to support the theory. Sorry if it was discussed before couldn't find anything on it on search. Please help me develop it or disapprove it since I'm not strong about the lore.
  5. Maybe the Nahel bond turns Syl into a Shardplate(and Blade?) later on.I mean transformation not trapped inside. or she become completely Physical being, a woman?
  6. It could be the spren dying within the armor and blade or it could be their feeling of betrayel that the KR abandoned their "gifts" and cut the bond, doom all the spren to be the mindless, feeling less as they were before (Syl talking to Kaladin) and by that giving up on saving the world.
  7. I love the theory Moogle, Can I add something to the theory that maybe seems obvious? I think you can add that it explain Gavilar speaking to Amaram in secret (Jasnah prologue). I believe Gavilar sent BrightLord Amaram to act as highmarshal in the northern border to invade Jah Keved since he believed this country was ruled by ardents/Ghostbloods who wanted to rule over all of Roshar. It also explains Amaram actions of self justification about killing Kaladin's squad members. There are many things to think about to arrange your theory and Confused theory to make some sense of it all. I also think "Take this. They must not get it" refer to them about having the dark sphere. Edit: without meaning to I stated some of Confused canon from the book. wasn't intentional really.
  8. You're right about Kaladin. His specialty is with the spear so it's unlikely he will teach someone how to use a sword. I wonder, the choice of words "prince" and "kindly" is it someone of lower station? or snide request of someone of equal/higher rank. About the glimpses focus, I hope it's him taking a bigger stage in the book than him dying. there is so much for him to grow into it'll be a shame.
  9. I think the book is more about Shallan past and present. Her role will much more prominent than what you mentioned. by Peter words ("I bring greetings from the future!" thread) and Reflections of Radiance there will be something explosive revealed about her in this book.
  10. ^ it could be the other way around, it could be Renarin asking Kaladin to refresh his sword training. than at the training kaladin asks "Prince Renarin, would you kindly slay this rock for me?" but did they ever talk? why will he go to him specifically when he got other options. unlikely imo.
  11. Nice thought out theory, Can you explain with it why she killed her father?
  12. Stoneward used his/her power to erect a wall to block an entrance. (work less if he/she turn into a golem to block them) Sadeas seems pondering a solution to bypass it, he looked to his left "Prince Renarin, would you kindly slay this rock for me?" "erm...I'm not sure how to use my powers but I'll give it a try" *slash* *rock split in half* Edit: *kamehamehaaaaa* was too cliche.
  13. I'll be the mood killer, I think it's Adolin that's going to fall and I think it's permanent. I think Dalinar, for this book, going to stay alive he's too important to the situation (the war, visions,KR). Renarin will get his own spren partner in this book or next so the potential of him being part of the new KR order in the future is high, there is a lot of room for him to grow with his blood weakness, new shardplate and shardblade(which his brother gave him, another thing to make him gloomy after Adolin death). and let's face it, all of Kaholin family surviving till the end, all of them with powers, it's just too easy. now why Adolin? he's the backbone of the Adolin family, he got the thrill, he's impulsive and somewhat arrogant. if he's going to hit the bucket many changes are going to happen to his family - Dalinar going to force his way to end the war, and Renarin will finally leave his brother's shadow and get himself known for his brilliance. so there you go folks, my reasoning.
  14. I would receive it than run away so they will never find me till I finish the book, than it won't really matter If I really had to give it back, as posted before me, I would've scanned the pages and give them their copy back. get inside my room. lock the door and dig right in.
  15. I believe Adolin had it coming for quite a while, he will be the reason Dalinar will kick some a$$ to make the king end the war and return back to Alethkar, but that's my gut feeling. From the excerpts and Reflections of Radiance:
