  1. It would be a pretty good advantage to Dalinar to have one in the pocket, now that everyone thinks he's vulnerable-er, being without plate or blade - and the fact that everyone's going to try and stick that pig now, as high-prince of war. Plus I can see honorable Dalinar keeping it safe for his brother, and maybe some day going up to Elhokar and "your father's lightsaber"
  2. This question may have been mulled over already in the WoK section, but it just seems like such an odd thing to be omitted from the story. You would think someone close to him would have inherited it, but Elhokar's fits a different description. Jasnah has not revealed anything towards her having it, via PoV chapters, and I figure if Dalinar had it - Sadeas would know - as he was present at the same time when Jasnah conveyed the message. Still, as I talk my way through it - Dalinar seems like the best bet, as I'm confident he has a second shard blade (or just one, as he gave up Oathbringer) Again, apologies if I'm mulling over something that's been posted before.
  3. Quite honestly I've taken to calling him Agent Smith - he acts as a lawman and has intimate knowledge compared to your average person, but twisted viewpoints or not - I don't think going around and offing people who could become radiants as a Heraldic duty, even a little bit. To me he felt like someone who was justifying his actions - but is likely a member of a soon-to-be-revealed 'other' group. We fast approach only the second book, I think with the flow of things, it's entirely likely. Of course it's also entirely likely that it's just Nalan.
  4. Ok firstly, before I lose my train of thought on the matter. The lullaby to me represents what happens in the warcamps and presumably everywhere else when you want to re-juice your currency. (money laundering ftw) aside from the chasm part - it fits, unless the chasm simply means the basket or whatever. Also, referencing shardblades - most of them are massive. Intended to kill thunderclasts and the like. Honorblades are similarly massive but have different behavioral quirks (like vanishing when holder dies) but we have been confirmed to see 3 types of blades so far, meaning in WoK. Presumably the 3rd is Szeth's, which is considerably smaller and therefor an interesting mystery - as it would not be effective in killing thunderclasts, IE it has a taste for people. (It could also be the Parshendi shardblade that is the third type, but IIRC aside from styling it was similar or unremarkable to Dalinar) I can't imagine the safe being made of shardplate, because I sort of thought it shaped and sized itself to a living being, IE human and apparently parshendi. This is about as far out of the park as anything can ever be - but IIRC from somewhere, Odium isn't currently on Roshar proper. What if he WAS, and occupied a cramped safe that let his bling-rays out? (when I say was, i mean, at that time. we know he was there)
  5. LOL I just hope it's more than a single sentence, like the memories of light for AMOL's release. They were horribly well chosen to be taken out of context.
  6. If your assumption about shards being created by the bond - would that preclude the possibility that now, with a resurgence of Surgebinders, more blades/plates could be created? The reason I pose this question is this: IIRC there was mention of some 200 or so blades in existence during WoK. Due to the priceless nature of them - they are almost exclusively restricted to privileged seats. Kings, Highprinces, and others of the sort. But as of the pre-release content, with this new Agent Smith fellow who went after Lift, and just other spine tingle feelings I've had, I am beginning to think there are a lot more shards out there than 200, if that number was wrong - a vast underestimate, or if new ones are being. Grown? Either could be accurate. Plus we know that Parshendi have access to them as well, at least to some extent. And another question - more than likely somewhat related. Chances that Dalinar has a Glock-26 strapped to his leg? (By that - I mean a second shardblade. It has been confirmed that it can happen - and IIRC it was stated that he was a highly competent duelist and had won many shards - while he could have given them to friends and whatnot, I find it odd. Especially beings Andolin grants his brother his blade, even if he is the bobby hill of the Kholin family, I would have figured that honorable pops would just give him one if he had a back catalog) ^That may have already been postulated as well, I'm new here still and working diligently on catching up to everything.
  7. It's kind of confusing - the water 'hides' for some reason or another. This makes me believe that the water has a reason to recede. Plants exhibit the same behavior for survival - but the storms are weaker in the area, I doubt much water would get sloshed about - so there is likely something special about the region, if not the water in particular. With highstorms plowing over every few days though - you would think that it would accumulate in the lake bed, at least to some degree, which would dilute the water, when it returned. Thus it's clearly not the fluid contents of the highstorm that are the problem. Maybe the water doesn't like the stormlight? Perhaps I have it backwards - maybe what's under the water really likes the stormlight
  8. In a less-creepy, online and mostly anonymous way. Hello friends (I presume that you will cooperate and be just that) - I shall allow you this brief time to introduce yourselves and stuff. I'm very happy to finally be making an account on this wonderful website - so that I have the opportunity to discuss Brandon Sanderson's amazing works of fiction with people who won't look at me like a crazed and drug addled taun-taun. You know the feeling. "These books man, they're like. A series, but not a series. It's all metaphysics and shards bro. SHARDS!" From there, it goes down hill fast. Anyways, I'm excited to see what is in store for me here, and in the future with these books. Love, Blackwood.
