  1. Has anyone considered that instead of either burning the lerasium or using it for Feruchemy, that he does both? He could have just cut the bead in half.
  2. That's related to his Yolenese Lightweaving. He uses it in the Liar of Partinel chapters that have been released.
  3. WoB is that he did. Why he didn't use it is the question... I think the grammatically-challenged fellow above me was trying to say that he didn't want to reveal its existence to Ruin.
  4. Speaking of how it's made, did anyone catch that bit in one of the epigraphs (it was from the in-universe Words of Radiance) where it mentioned that the Skybreakers had almost-supernatural skill at making things? I took that to mean that they, perhaps with some help from other orders, were responsible for constructing Shardplate.
  5. Given the way he replies to specific questions, it makes me wonder if Cultivation is still alive. That quote only says the holder is still alive, so perhaps she abandoned the Shard somehow, maybe to create the 'equilibrium' that the second Letter mentions.
  6. From the second Letter: The sphere might be even more important, if it is the main thing Hoid is searching for, as this implies.
  7. He was, when he first appeared. Current theory is that Wit took the Honorblade and replaced it with a regular Shardblade.
  8. Everyone else has pretty much said what I wanted to say, so I'll just go with saying that when I got to the end of Chapter 88, I was running around, jumping up and down and cackling maniacally. Nightblood! NIGHTBLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD! Also, I'm really getting a 'Marvel-end-credits-scene' vibe from Hoid's bits at the ends of the books.
  9. God, I hope Axies... That would be amazing.
  10. Oh, he was talking about Cultivation... For some reason, I thought that might be a reference to our mysterious worldhopping Terriswoman.
  11. I'd suggest just ordering it online. If you do it now, it should arrive at about the same time as they get the paperback in.
  12. Did anyone else notice that Nazh, the person who wrote the note in the WoR interior illustrations, also annotated the AoL map? Could he be another agent of the 17th Shard, or an agent of Odium?
  13. I'm fairly certain Odium's been confirmed to have a part in the magic systems on Lesser Roshar. Nice theories though!
  14. I'd probably go with Allomantic electrum and Feruchemical zinc; you'd basically be an atium Misting, but you can still use the Feruchemical zinc in other scenarios.
  15. I doubt he would have needed to; aluminium was all but unknown in pre-Ascension times, and there would be extremely few people who could burn it (one have to be both a natural Mistborn and part of the Canton of Inquisition, as regular Inquisitors wouldn't have it due to aluminum Mistings being almost impossible to find for the spiking process). But then again, if they had access to it, it seems odd they wouldn't use its Allomantically-inert properties, so who knows. Could've been that Preservation's messing with the system made it affectable by Allomancy. Basically, if anything, Harmony changed it back to being Allomantically inert.
  16. Nah; there's only one power on Sel (the Dor), with multiple ways of accessing it. The going theory right now is that because, unlike Preservation and Ruin, the Intents of Devotion and Dominion are fairly close, so they meshed together into one magic system.
  17. I'm pretty sure there's a quote sitting around somewhere where Brandon basically confirmed that all spren are on a sliding scale from Honor to Cultivation. As for the magic systems' Shards, I think http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/6152-surgebinding-mistborn-more-speculations-about-hoid/page-2 (towards the bottom) is close to accurate.
  18. We need a famous actor for Hoid, just to peg people in that he's important. (And to mess with them)
  19. Perhaps a better way to put it would be (Honor -> <- Odium) + Cultivation
  20. It does, but as far as I understand, the Intent of the Shards were close enough to one another that only one magic system came out of it.
  21. Ah, ok. That actually makes a lot more sense. EDIT: Actually, doesn't that incompatibility produce balance systems? The way I see it, both Surgebinding (spren have been confirmed to be on a sliding scale of Honor to Cultivation) and Voidbinding (assuing that it is Odium's magic) are partly of Cultivation, seeing as they're sorta compatible, and that incompatibility of Honor and Odium produces the third magic system as a balance.
  22. Ah ok. I was wondering if it would work like Compounding in the other direction, storing Allomantic power Feruchemically.
