NaNo 2017: The Gatekeeper (Myth Taken Redux)
Jo and the Bush replied to Talanic's topic in Creator's Corner
Ooh, all of this is new. I'm wondering if this is going to be Sophie, or someone entirely new. -
November 3rd; only 861 words, but I'm tired. NaNo tells me I need to write 1776 words per day to finish on time, so tomorrow, I will spend my day off writing an entire 2000 words! Also, Mikael is being annoying in this one and ignoring the direction I wanted this to go.

NaNo 2017: The Gatekeeper (Myth Taken Redux)
Jo and the Bush replied to Talanic's topic in Creator's Corner
I really really want to see this mentioned in some epilogue for the series. 4,000 years down the line, Hewn finally returns her bag to her. Anyway, your heck of a day did not prevent you from writing a quality update. -
So yesterday I impulsively decided to participate in NaNoWriMo. I spent yesterday dusting off one of my story ideas that hadn't gotten a lot of love from me, and spent today writing chapter 1 (Or possibly 2). I'm going to follow Talanic's example and post each day's work here as I finish them. I would definitely appreciate feedback and comments. Without further ado, I present UNWANTED GHOSTS Noveber 2nd. 1417 words

NaNo 2017: The Gatekeeper (Myth Taken Redux)
Jo and the Bush replied to Talanic's topic in Creator's Corner
Awww, he's already fond of her! Was this what happened to the gate in the original 2014 story? I always assumed the Nucklavee had closed it. Mmm, this definitely feels different than the 2014 version. Hewn feels more confident, and the Elf feels more directed and dangerous. I look forward to tomorrow's update! -
The Modern Magic Thief - A NaNoWriMo project
Jo and the Bush replied to Talanic's topic in Creator's Corner
Since you are rewriting this book, I decided to reread it for fun. It is still incredibly enjoyable Talanic. Reynardine! I know who that is now. Oh hey you kept this detail. Nice to see you have the mechanics laid down somewhere. Oh man, I did not catch that three years ago. Removing buildings like that is cool. Glad to see it wasn't forgotten later in the story. I love Hewn's calmness. 'Oh dear, my arm was just ripped off. Drat.' -

Mid-Range Game 25: Lowborn Intrigue
Jo and the Bush replied to TheMightyLopen's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Slightly irritated that i'm being lynched early on again, but have a defense anyway. There seem to be 3 main arguments against me. 1. I voted for jondesu for roleswapping despite doing the same thing. 2 roleswapping, and 3. Retracting my vote. In my defense: 1. Yes, i voted for Jondesu because he offered a roleswap at the firat oportunity he had. I only roleswapped with people after i had talked to them, and gotten a better feel for how they were playing. I at least tried to make sure i wasn't talking to an eliminator before i offered to swap. Jondesu did not. 2. I have been role swapping. Partially this is because i am an Eavesdropper, and a conversation I had with Lopen indiciates that Eavesdroppers are mostly useless unless there are a lot of PM's. He laughingly wished me good luck in actually eaveadropping on anything important. So i went into these PM's knowing my role was fairly useless, poisoned or not. I tried to gather info so that i could actually be effective, so that i could coordinate with people. 3, Oh no! I retracted my Vote on Jondesu after he defended himself! Heaven forbid we actually listen to the people we're accusing. I explained why i was suspicious of him, and he provided reasoning for his actions that made sense, so i took my vote off of him. How Evil of me. My dinner break is almost over though, so i'll be off for the next 4 hours. Enjoy the game. Lopen, please make sure i get defenestrated somehow.- 433 replies

Mid-Range Game 25: Lowborn Intrigue
Jo and the Bush replied to TheMightyLopen's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Popping on to say that Jondesu's response settles my suspicion enough to make him less suspicious than before. (StrikerEZ, your response also satisfied me, you're back down to no read) At this point i don't have any suspicions, and i might not be online for long enough to make a post until night 1, since we actually have a busy day at work.- 433 replies

Mid-Range Game 25: Lowborn Intrigue
Jo and the Bush replied to TheMightyLopen's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I am revealing my role pretty much willy nilly, because i am against PM Safety in general. I am voting for Jondesu more because of how he phrased his alignment. It sounded like he was uncomfortable saying he was a villager to me. That followed by the roleswap is what is making me vote for him. I interest of hinestly, i have already roleawapped with 3 people.- 433 replies

Mid-Range Game 25: Lowborn Intrigue
Jo and the Bush replied to TheMightyLopen's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Summary of Night 0 PM's: Darkness_: Very little game content, no read gathered. Walin: He wanted to bluff that he was an eliminator on day 1, but was convinced otherwise. offered me a role exchange without prompting, has made anti PM Codes with people. Overall read is that of a villager. Eternum: Doesn't want to die, doesn't have a plan. Seems like a villager. Sart: Openly said he wasn't paying attention to the game yet. No read Shqueeves: Neither of us made any attempt to discuss the game. No read. Randuir: Doesn't want to be taken in by evil Orlok again, extremely against Role swapping. Strongest village read so far. Jondesu: Offered me a roleswap right off the bat. Didn't bother to tell me his alignment since he had no proof. Strongest Eliminator read, though it is a tenuous one. Straw: Apologised for not responding earlier. No read. (You never did get back to me) Arinian: The only player to read my PM to him, but not respond to it. No read. Manukos: Agreed with Randuir's post about, though added that his post is something an eliminator might make. Not sure how I read him. Megasif: Surprised that the game had started. Nothing else said. No read. Drake: Hasn't made any plans yet. very little said. No read. Orlok: Plans on taking the game easy. No read. StrikerEz: Didn't know his role while we were pm'ing. he had to look it up. I read mine as soon as I got mine. I would lynch him for that, since it is possible that he was distracted by a doc link. Eliminator read. Roadwalker, Sami, and Brightness Radiant: Never read their PM's, though Road and BR have since. Do spies have a doc and can i have the gun? =P- 433 replies

When do the Wardens kill? Do they have a kill?
-
Since this seems to be the "Twist" of the game, I will focus on this stuff. First off, the actions divide as it applies to technically warring factions. Because only Right People can take actions at Night, and only City People can take actions at day, it seems that both factions can rob the other with relative impunity, assuming they can target their 'rivals'. Right people aren't going to rob eachother, they'll rob the City People, and the city people can't protect themself during that action period. A similar problem; If the Crooked Wardens have a faction kill, can they use it durinf either night or day? Either choice means they only have to worry about that Factions doctors, effectively halving the Villages protection. And minor note, how will the role manipulation roles work if they cannot act during the lynch? Then there is the Not Talking for a third of the game. Will there at least be open PM's? PS: You are right about the first book being the best.

Interesting. And Lo, an artifact of SE is made. Joe's Mug, with the ability to store and preserve anything in it. Currently, it contains Bloody Money, given out of Kindness.

Eh, not a bad reason to vote for me. Not really anyway i can defend myself against the vote, and i don't think the Seer will really be that active in voting for a player this early, so i'm basically goong to ignore this vote. Haven't really had any thoughts on anything else. One person knows my role so far, though Rae just pm'd me so it might be two soon.

This definetely doesn't remind me of Evil!Joe doing this same thing in the Death Note game. Nope. Not at all. Specifically, the part where he wants to be lynched on D3. Not only can the seer convert you before then to get the info, but Seer!Aman could use the info he got to convert the right people before D3. Possibly 3 players before he dies off. But, i actually do agree with his stated objectives of gathering information. I will happily share my role with people, in exchange for whatever they offer. I also agree with no lynching to give both us time to organize, and the Seer time to find converts (i want a fun game, not a quick game) Also, quick note: not every Thug is a Seer pretending to be a thug, pls remember that.
