I have not read it yet, just popped it open, but I want to say.... This is ONE of the many reasons I really like Brandon Sanderson. "Be sure and check back for further excerpts and sneak peeks" .... I cannot wait for March.

Kal felt an energy as he held the weapon, an excitement that washed away his pain.....But the length of wood felt 'right' in his fingers. He was amazed at how wonderful the moment felt.... Ends with Brightlord Wistiow dead and Kal's father with a goblet full of spheres. -
Hate to interrupt all the GRRM talk, but to follow up on my above post.. Wonder what the likelyhood of Gavilar* having visions. Now Navani is encouraging Dalinar to embrace and chronicle the visions, which makes her feel in some way responsible. She may think she could have somehow stopped the chain of events.

The Parshendi who revealed they were responsible could not tell anyone what the King was doing. That would just ensure someone else did it. Dalinar is now making the same changes and he will be the one who pushes the wrong button, IMO. Also, plays into the Navani quote, about being able to stop it. She saw the same changes happening in Dalinar as she saw in her husband and in hindsight was easy to see how she could have stopped it.

What would happen if Jasnah were to marry? From what I gather, she would then be her husband's secretary basically. You have all heard the "ball and chain" saying... Well, in Jasnah's situation it is hard for her not to see marriage as just that, chained. I am not saying something did not happen that may have contributed to her view of marriage, but she doesn't seem to be a man-hater at all.
