A bird just flew into our front window. He (she?) was breathing okay, but pretty dazed. I got a box ready and put him inside so he doesn’t get eaten by a cat or something. Hopefully he recovers in an hour or so and then back to the Wild!
@Sunbird, can you tell what type of bird it is?

Kind of? I called her Birdie, my brother called him Jackson, and my sister called her Dazed. 'Cause, you know, she bonked into the window and became dazed. Whatever her name, she's free now!

A bird just flew into our front window. He (she?) was breathing okay, but pretty dazed. I got a box ready and put him inside so he doesn’t get eaten by a cat or something. Hopefully he recovers in an hour or so and then back to the Wild!
@Sunbird, can you tell what type of bird it is?

I went to check on her and she wasn't there! There is no trace of her inside or out, so I'm assuming that she found her wings and flew off.

Yeah. She seems to be consistently getting better though! At this point I'm just wondering how long she can go without food. She was in the backyard for five minutes or so, in a bush in a hope that she would fly away. She didn't, but maybe she found a bug to munch on?

She's not in the corner anymore! She keeps moving around, which I think is good. The main issue now is that she can't fly. She can flap her wings and do little flutter jumps and stuff, but not fly.

She has hopped herself into a corner. I can't get to it, and she is staying very still. She is breathing.

So she hasn't flown away yet, but she's moving around more and more. She's in a Ziploc container cardboard box and I left the lid open so she can leave when she's ready. She is currently wandering around the mudroom. She hopped out of her box herself, and her wings don't seem to hurt. However, she isn't flying at all, just little hops here and there. She is a very nice bird.

There aren't really any rehab places close enough, but she's starting to pep up. We are leaving her in the mudroom with the screen doors closed, but the lid open so she can hopefully want to get out and stuff.
I would really rather just take her to one of the rehab centers, but it's not going to happen.

Birdie is getting a little peppier. We tried to let her out but she stayed still. She made us chase her to put her back in the box, though. Just hopping. I think her wing is hurt. Bruised or broken, I don’t know. We’re going to give her some more time to heal and recover.
We got some great pictures of her!

Birdie is starting to feel a little better. S/he's pooped and moved around, and done a little flapping. I tried to let him/her out but s/he wouldn't yet.
