  1. Dude, every time Tien gets mentioned I choke up, EVERY TIME That line hit me like a truck..the whole page was leading up to it, then bam! It actually made me feel sick, since in a way I was supporting that Elhokar needed to go (even though I hated the idea of killing him); I felt so bad. After feeling bad that whole page for letting down Elhokar and Dalinar, he rips in with that and my eyes just shot open! Felt like a guilty kid who had been really mean to his sibling for no reason at all; I felt evil and horrible and sad. So you can imagine when Kaladin sticks up for him...bleeding through his lips as he spoke the words, I very nearly exploded Great story arc there! When I was introduced to Vasher I was immediately thinking of Jezrien; I thought I was pretty smart! When all the weird things happened (like the Lifesense when Kaladin approached) I thought it was a Herald power. Looking back now, totally Vasher! Time to re-read Warbreaker! Only read that once.
  2. WoR Spoilers
  3. What's also interesting is that not all the orders have two connections, only orders 1, 4, 6 and 9 have two; these of which connect all to each other. This would mean Windrunners linked to Edgedancers and Lightweavers, Edgedancers linked to Windrunners and Stonewards, Lightweavers linked to Windrunners and Stonewards, and lastly Stonewards linked to Edgedancers and Lightweavers. In terms of certain temperaments the orders have, including spren, I don't see too much of a correlation? Perhaps they mean nothing, and instead the Voidbringer version of this diagram would be the flipside, like shadesmar? Random thought. Something must be going on here I think, Brandon doesn't just leave things for no reason.
  4. In Dalinar's vision where the two Radiants appear, one of them, the women with amber glowing armor (Stonewarden?), uses a glowing gemstone to repair the wounds of the wife. If she is a Stonewarden though, I wonder how she could heal with that stormlight infused gem? Would be cool if all orders could carry around healing stones charged by Edgedancers or the Illumination/Growth order. Or maybe something else is going on. OR, maybe the orders have similar colours, but I doubt that.
  5. That's not a bad idea. The fact that something is tying them there is definitely high on the probability list! The idea it was the original homeland is interesting! I wonder if more worlds or realms will be introduced as the story goes on. As a side thought, would it be improbable to think that this Hell place could be the cognitive or spiritual realm? Maybe their torture is mental and not physical; some strange kind of bond they have with another realm. As far as we know they don't seem to be bonded to spren, so something else is definitely playing a part in how they get their power/blades and what goes on there. The shard Honor yes, but in more detail; how? What bugs me is that the heralds are the saviors of mankind (theoretically or mythically) yet they get tortured all the time!
  6. The fact it says "may" gives us a huge amount of ambiguity; it could be that a character comes near to destroying everything but instead turns it around to save everyone. That could mean it could be anyone. In response to Dalinar being more dangerous; yes and no. Yes for a different reason from being Alethi; Dalinar is our prophet so far in the series, and the one with the most influence to bring about change. Essentially he's going to make the Alethi less Alethi by making them follow the Codes. This will probably result in WoR with a bunch of new Knight Radiants. The flow on effect here is that Dalinar is a massive Catalyst in bringing back the order of the Radiants. The problem with this is that (I think) the more KR that start to appear, the more bonding between spren and man and all other KR related activity; the closer we get to a desloation (the FINAL desolation? ). In Just's interlude; the supposed Nalan mentioned that by killing surgebinders he was keeping away the desolation; so that's where I get the idea for this theory from. So yes; Dalinar could be destroying us by bringing about the last desolation. However, he could also be saving us as it gives the opportunity to fight back against Odium and perhaps stop Desolations forever, horah!
  7. Hey guys, wondering if anyone had any ideas on this topic; Why, for one, did the Heralds have to go to this hell-like place between desolations, and what do you think it was like? The description of fire, hooks, burning fat and bone sounded pretty horrific. Anyone got any theories why they were forced to endure there between desolations? To me it made sense if they had a more god-like presence; where they lived in the world bringing their respective characteristic traits to the people of Roshar: teaching leadership for example. Obviously something weird is going on if Tanavast's 10 heralds had to suffer in this horrible place for millennium(?) between desolations! Perhaps to go back to battle against the 10 'anti-heralds' in the hell like place? Doesn't make much sense though since it describes them as being tortured every day; sounds more like they're stuck. One thing about the Oathpact is that they chose their burden willingly as Jezrien says; so maybe there was some kind of deal struck that had to be made to save the world countless millennium ago? Please post your insights
  8. Kaladin and Shallan!? No way haha they are too different in every regard. I'm putting my money on Shallan and Renarin! They seem made for eachother. It's going to be great
  9. I wasn't picturing those 2 together! More Laral or Tarah. But heretic with a branded lighyeyes hater.. I can see Jasnah finding kaladin incredibly attractive hahaha
  10. Hey! Been following for a few months on and off through my smartphone and pc and decided I should make a profile so I can comment when I want Love the amount of detail and theory that is explored here! Brandon is my favourite author and I CANNOT wait for WoR! I'm looking forward to learning more orders and their powers, but most importantly some juicy character development!!
