Oh, the annotations just make it better! Well done sir. Well done.

As far as the Nokia would be concerned, would that still have the ability to cut through stones like water?? But on a more serious note, I don't think that Kaladin would be able to lash Syl. She's too heavily invested- the same reason you can't lash someone in Shardplate.

I'm always bad at finding them, but I'm certain we have WoB somewhere that says a Spren can only grow to about the size of a man- Which explains why Shardblades are only about 6 feet long. So this would limit the whole "Scythe on an army" idea. Love the MysSyl, love the handle, love the topic title. *Fist Bump*

Brandon's Next Book
loganmathewjohnson replied to DragonReborn's topic in General Brandon Discussion
Oh, have a little faith in the man. ;)He's only 38 years old, he's got some time. No, the thing that's frustrating to me is that "Stones Unhallowed" will be released approximately in 2015. That's fine, but I was hoping he'd publish it the next year. (Normally, I wouldn't want this, but I was just called to serve an LDS mission in Toronto, Canada, and I don't want my older brother mailing me Stormlight Spoilers while I'm out. ) -
Yay!!! I really felt like progression was slow in the old system, so thanks, Chaos, for going through all the trouble!! Of, course being moved from "Shardbearer" to "Ardent" kinda sucks. Long live Kabsal!!!

Stormfather Theory (Spoilers included)
loganmathewjohnson replied to Lightning's topic in Stormlight Archive
Maybe... It kinda feels like a reach to me. But it's certainly possible! I think... I don't know. Does anyone have WoB about a shard coming back from Splintering?? -
I was reading TWoK today, and one of the death rattles stuck out to me: 52: A Highway to the Sun "I'm standing over the body of a brother. I'm weeping. Is that his blood or mine? What have we done?" - Dated Vevanev, 1173, 107 seconds pre-death. Subject: an out-of-work Veden sailor. I'm thinking this may be a prophecy related to the potential "Adolin-Renarin Falling-out" that was mentioned earlier... EDIT: Also, @Seloun, Hoid has Lightweaving abilities, so he's changing his image, not wearing a wig.

Is Adolin going bad?(spoiler)
loganmathewjohnson replied to lopenscousin's topic in Stormlight Archive
Actually, I think Adolin DOES have a Spren. As has been brought up in other topics, during his duel, he distinctly hears someone or something say: "DUCK!" The prevalent theory I've been seeing (Which I agree with with 87% certainty) Is that Adolin is reviving his Shardblade. I like that idea. -
I think the biggest thing we have to look at have to look it is intent. When Adolin killed Sadeas, it was in a move of pure hatred and anger. It concerns me that he could end up being Odium's Champion- he is a duelist after all. That being said, I think it is most likely that Adolin will become a Dustbringer. My friends and I were theorizing exactly that this morning. So @drakesparda, it's good to hear of that half nod.

What happened to Sadeas? (Joke theories topic)
loganmathewjohnson replied to Lightflame's topic in Stormlight Archive
Bathroom break. He'll be back for the climax of book 10. Oh, and he left Oathbringer behind with Wit. Wit is pretending to be a flowerpot so that Grump, Blunt, and Thinker won't find him. -
Is Adolin going bad?(spoiler)
loganmathewjohnson replied to lopenscousin's topic in Stormlight Archive
Let me inject my personal opinion here: I LOVE Adolin Kholin! He quickly became my favorite character, and while I would love to see him go all "Darth Vader" on us, I honestly don't think that's what going to happen. Lest we forget, Shallan murdered HER OWN FATHER, and she turned out alright. I think he'll either end up a Dustbringer, a Willshaper, or dead. I do think that while I'd get a sick feeling in my gut from it, him turning evil would definitely be great for story progression. We haven't really seen any 'bad guys'- the conflict is pretty morally gray. I mean, other than Odium, who is ACTUALLY evil? The Ghostbloods? Maybe. Mr. T and co? Maybe. The Alethi Highprinces? In some ways. Even Sadeas himself... Ok. Sadeas was just a swine. I'm glad Adolin killed him. XD -

Words of Brandon (Q&A Responses)(*WoR Spoilers!*)
loganmathewjohnson replied to Trickonometry's topic in Stormlight Archive
Ummm... The title of the book is actually "Stones Unhallowed", last I checked... and yes. the confirmed order is Szeth, Eshonai, and Dalinar. The working title for book 5 is "Highprince of War". I'm sorry if this is off topic, but this should clear it up quite nicely. Here's the source. -
The Letter (WoR Spoilers)
loganmathewjohnson replied to loganmathewjohnson's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Yay!!! Thank you! -
So, I looked around in Cosmere theories, and I couldn't find anything about this... But there is a second letter in Words of Radiance, replying to the original letter written in the Way of Kings. I just wanted to check that everyone else was seeing what I saw, and that I'm not going crazy... I'm skirting around the issue, cuz I can't figure out how to post spoiler tags...
-
Haha, ok. Well, now that I'm done with WoR, maybe a Warbreaker re-read is necessary. Yeah, no, I definitely think he's Vasher. There's just no other crazy, color-obsessed, swordmaster lunatic expecting a voice in his head in the same world where Nightblood shows up that it could possibly be. XD I Also agree with @Stroniax. He probably let somebody steal it... Then "Colorful Stormfather" et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.
-
It's just marvelous. My opinion is that if this is after Warbreaker, but before Nightblood, then Vivenna is probably on Roshar with Zahel (Vasher). But, something nobody has mentioned so far... Now, my Warbreaker knowledge is a little rusty, but I don't believe we know Nightblood's origin. Is it possible that Nalan gives Szeth Nightblood, which Vasher then obtains BEFORE going to Nalthis?? EDIT: Found a typo. XD

So, I've been a member for a while, but a few things came up in my life, and I wasn't very active on 17th Shard. (Sorry Devil's Den players!!! XD Love you all! ) Anyway, after everything was solved, I just decided to avoid this place till I read WoR. I finished last night... It's good to be back.
-
Wow. This is a pretty hefty discussion. ... Can I just say "Adolin is a studmuffin"* and walk away from this quietly?? But seriously. Adolin and Shallan are my two favorite characters, as of WoR.... I'd love to see this work out. Sorry to be the shallow-est one in a sea of legit, analytic predictors. Love you guys. *A murderous studmuffin IS still a studmuffin, right??

Long Game 2: The Devil's Den
loganmathewjohnson replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Ummm, yes. Yes I would. I'll do the best I can, but like I've said in the past, I don't have much experience with forums and forum games... Maybe 3 or 4 games down the line, though. Sure. EDIT: I'm throwing around the idea of a Stormlight Elimination where players are in a bridge crew... Not sure yet, though. The problem with the Stormlight Archive is that the villians are less... Obvious. The conflict is FAR more morally gray. But i'm working at it. (And writing a second novel... )- 1232 replies

Long Game 2: The Devil's Den
loganmathewjohnson replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
@metacognition: Hmmm. Well, as this is not limited to Scadrial, would you be terribly offended if I started coming up with ideas for a Roshar based game? I can GM if you like, but I feel that such a game would be appropriate, with the release of WoR so close...- 1232 replies

Long Game 2: The Devil's Den
loganmathewjohnson replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Indeed. I seriously cannot wait. So, being a near-worshipper of Spook, I selected the High Imperial as my Cosmetic Role... But I can just feel that I'll screw it up. Is there a guide/forum that can help??- 1232 replies

Long Game 2: The Devil's Den
loganmathewjohnson replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Oh! Wasing the hoping for another game!!! Mathieu, a skaa that fancies himself a noble, but can't lose his eastern street slang, is in. He is NOT Spiked. Good thing too. He doesn't seem to serve a role in the crew, except as an extra body. There's absolutely NO WAY that he is a Mistborn. He is too forgettable. Again, as with Bartbug, I'll be happy to step out if there are others needing to have a shot at this marvelous game!!! Do Aether and Claincy know? EDIT: Posted, then discovered that yes, Aether does know. EDIT II: I've noticed it's Sanderson Elimination now... Maybe a Nalthis, Sel, or Roshar themed one next?- 1232 replies
