earth has about 8765.81 hours in a year. Roshar year is 1.1 times longer so 9642.391 hours. 500 days in a year so 19.284782 hours in a day. If we assume that Roshar also has daylight half of the day that leaves 9.642391 hours of walking to do a day. If we take out and hour to setup camp and hour to take camp down that puts us at 7.642391 walking hours a day. It seems that the lower the gravity the slower we move as well(http://jp.physoc.org/content/528/3/657.full) I don't have a proper calculator with me to do the full calculation so I'm just going to go at 4.5 km/h for now. so that is 7.642391*4.5=34.3907595 km a day. So that puts us at about 6878.1519 km in 4 months(with estimated speed) or 7642.391 KM using 5 km/h. If we assume .5 hours to setup camp and .5 hours to take camp down that is 7778.1519 km (at 4.5 km/h) 8642.391 (at 5 km/h)

9/10 dead was before the KR. So it is still likely with amateur radiants we wouldn't see 9/10 dead in a desolation. But this isn't a desolation, this is the Everstorm. So who knows.

Aether, That is the point. Mr. T wants the world to think that the Parshendi are assassinating the world leaders. This way Mr. T can unite Roshar into attacking the Parshendi.

Dope, Now I feel better. I knew I was missing something after Adolins Dual when he gave away the blade. Now I know what it was.

Do all of the KR have nahel bonds? When does Kaladin say his 2nd Ideal, and really understand the first one? When he Saves Dalinar. Maybe Bondsmith is more literal. They help create and accelerate the Nahel Bonds of all the orders. Dalinar seems to feel like he can trust people, like Kaladin for instance. He just knows he can trust him. And Kaladin just happens to be on the path to become a KR. Dalinar trusts Jansah who maybe on the path to become a KR. It may even be that Dalinar's rough interaction with Elhokar may infact lead to some interaction with cryptics.

What is inside Shallan's father's safe
EvilKetchupCow replied to Kaladin Kal's topic in Stormlight Archive
Sly was a typo. -
Given Aether's work, I would say it would be after Kaladin stops Moash or turns him from his path of vengeance.

I vote for pirates. Because as far as I can tell there has been no mention of pirates in the entire book. And lets face it, Darkness is basically a ninja. We got to balance it out right?

I like the leadership path we are on here. I think it will come after Kaladin tells people about his surgebindings. It may be Dalinar, or it maybe the rest of the former bridgemen. I think the latter is more likely. "I will lead the willing honestly" or something like that.

We Need to Check Tor Next Tuesday 02/04/2014

My guess is artwork. There is still one unreleased shallan artwork from the Steelhunt. -
I don't think Eshonai was privy to the whole debate about the decision. When her sister brought up storm form she said "I'm bring this to the council." Eshonai may be part of the Council now but I don't think she was then. When she became the war leader she was informed of the reasoning?

What is inside Shallan's father's safe
EvilKetchupCow replied to Kaladin Kal's topic in Stormlight Archive
No, you didn't miss anything. I took the statement literally. I assumed he was a descendant of Tanavast. I never even considered that it would have been because of the bond. I think it is more likely that you are correct and that "Son of Tanavast" is referring to his bond with Sly. But against logic I'm still sticking to my guns and saying that Kaladin is a descendant of Tanavast. -
What is inside Shallan's father's safe
EvilKetchupCow replied to Kaladin Kal's topic in Stormlight Archive
I always assumed it was a Shardblade. We don't know how Shallan got it. But if her and her brother both had one, something tells me the ghostbloods thought that the Davar's would make a Nahel bond. It was there way of protecting an asset(or creating a debt). This makes me think that gentics may be a factor in Nahel bonds(We know Kaladin is Tanavast's Son). -
Why was shen put in the bridge crew? Was he randomly chosen or picked for that purpose. Maybe Sadeas's Wife found out he could possibly be a spy and gave the idea to Hashal.

We know from the released chapters that the Parshendi know about surgebinders. They might know about Kaladin, they might not. We don't have enough information at this point.

Will Dalinar learn how Kaladin became a slave, in WOR?
EvilKetchupCow replied to eveorjoy's topic in Stormlight Archive
Heres How I see things going down(sorry for broken thoughts, I'll smooth it out later). Amaram was recovering from his broken leg and fighting ghost bloods during his 2 year absence from the Shattered Plains. Possible that the ghostbloods were responsible for the battle that Tien died at. Maybe an early attempt to get rid of Amaram. Ok Kaladin is on guard duty. He is inside while the rest of his crew is outside. Dalinar/Adolin(and others?) decide its time to either take Amaram's shards or Take shards from someone loyal to Sadeas. At which point Kaladin would recommend Amaram as the target. Dalinar may not like it (given the Morse code passage) But wonders why Kaladin would have any knowledge about Amaram and his shards. He asks why. Kaladin says that when Amaram "won his shards" he was stuck under a horse with a broken leg. Dalinar/Adolin push further but Kaladin regrets that he spoke out and is very stubborn about it, until he recives a direct order. He starts the story about why he joined Amaram's Army and about Tien's death. And finally to battle where Kaladin kills the brightlord in attempt to make it to the shattered plains. and then the Shardbarer... Kaladin is very difficult about the whole process and doesn't want to keep going. Adolin Doesn't believe Kaladin, but Dalinar does. Starts another fight between Adolin/Dalinar -
I agree that it isn't soulcasting, but I believe that ones ability to control things in shadesmar affects there ability to soulcast

Elhokar's Shardplate's broken gemstones
EvilKetchupCow replied to smearedblackink's topic in Stormlight Archive
I'm gonna go off course and throw in my own wild speculation: The Broken gems in the shardplate were meant to harm/hinder someone borrowing his plate for a duel. -
I've always believed that Gavilar's lasts words weren't finished. He died before he finished his sentence. So he could be hinting towards the Knights Radiant or something else. We know he wasn't a great husband, but I still think someone would of noticed if he was having visions during the storms. I think he was assassinated with something to do with the void spheres he gave a way(one given to Szeth, and others he thought were fighting the ghostbloods).

Brandon releases teaser on Fantasy-Faction.com
EvilKetchupCow replied to Looter's topic in Stormlight Archive
Its barely 2014... What would happen if Rofuss decided he was gonna release the 3rd book in the king killers chronicles book in December? I think the race would be different as well. Not that I don't wish I had a copy of WoR, I mean Ive already red WoK twice this month... -
What if "the greater the truth, the greater the bond", indicates that a different spreen would bond with her. What if the political position of that individual spreen has an effect on the strength of the bond and the power that it gives?
