  1. Ah. Selling something on eBay, or some such thing, is likely to get you more than what a carrier would give you, as a general rule (I think), even if you put it up as 'for parts'. The ringer malfunctioning has a fair chance of being software related (something that a reset, update, or custom firmware could fix), and the broken button could potentially be replaced (not so sure, like I said, I don't know lots about iPhones). At least, that's what I'd imagine without having seen the device. But it means someone might buy it if they thought they could fix the problems. EDIT: Though I realize that things could work differently in the US. I forget how phone plans work for you guys - I was under the impression it worked differently to here, where you pay the full price of the phone off over 24 months, on top of the cost of your phone credit.
  2. Bah. What happens when you have two thoughts at the same time? Take your pick between: Namor (Marvel character), or the Master Hand (from Super Smash Bros).
  3. My interest is more in 'Is there cool stuff I can do with an old phone if I don't have to worry about breaking it?' My sister recently upgraded her phone, and so I nabbed her old one (an old Galaxy S2 which was dying on her). I've had fun messing around custom firmware on it, given it doesn't matter if I accidentally brick the phone. Not really into iPhones, so don't know if there's cool things to be done to an old iPhone. Although, you could probably sell it? Apple stuff usually keeps its value, right?
  4. What's the new phone? What's the old one?
  5. As far as reads are concerned, I'm wary of Elbereth as I recently discovered the hard way that I'm not good at detecting evil!El. But I've not had any reason to distrust her yet, so she'd be at 50 (on the 1-100 scale with 1 being definitely evil). Mail I said I was leaning village. Wilson feels... different, I think. It's possibly due to the fact I've not played with her for a little while, and I think it also relates to the discussion of the D1 lynch. I can understand being a bit annoyed about the discussion getting revived continually. I need to think a bit more, and reread her posts a bit more, before I can decide if there's anything worth pursuing. Sart, more research required. He's someone I think of as "experienced" but I think that's more because he started playing before I did. I want to go back over his previous games and compare them to his posts. Meta hasn't really stood out to me. I'd place him somewhere between Mail and Wilson on my list at the moment. Sorry that it's all a bit vague - I need sleep. If I calculated it right, I should be on ~ an hour before rollover. I'll try and get another post in then.
  6. Sorta @Mods, but anyone's thoughts would be useful: Would there be any chance of having another 'format' as it were - a "Break Tank", as Gamma suggested. Basically the idea would be to have 3 day games with 24 hours cycles, and only a 1-2 day signup period, that could be used to stress-test games before they are run, or to try out new mechanics that don't have a full game attached to them yet. They'd basically be whenever someone felt the need to test something, but only ever 1 at a time (and maybe only 1 a week), and the expectation going into these games is that they could be highly broken, and won't be played to completion. I know that my Codex Alera game could have benefited from a stress test, and I've had a whole bunch of ideas that would be interesting to try, but wouldn't necessarily fit in to a proper game. @Mods: Is this sort of thing something that could happen? @GMs: Would you find it useful to have something like this available? @Players: Would you sign up to games like this? As in, concepts that haven't been fleshed out yet, games that haven't been balanced, and games where there won't be a satisfying conclusion or a winner at the end? Not sure which is the best thread to put this, but the other question was: Would it be possible to have a thread where things like Day 1 lynches, advice for analyzing information in game, and other such things could be discussed, and possibly have "articles" written and linked to in the OP, so that discussions don't have to clog up game threads, and so that newer players can easily find the information?
  7. Eh. Fair enough. Edit: Oddly enough, it actually makes me lean a little more towards you being village...
  8. Brawl in the Family (webcomic)
  9. Okay, reading through everything, I'm finding myself particularly paranoid this game... :/ I'm thinking I'm going to vote Nyali for mayor - in a similar vein to Mailliw's vote for Elb, Nyali, while a newer player, as so far seemed to be quite insightful - think they'd make a good mayor, if a villager. I would have said Elb, but I'm wary of her now because of the last QF... Re: Day 1 lynch - if we lynch someone, it 'solidifies' some of the information from the discussion leading up to it - we find out their role/alignment, and we get a better idea of how much players will stand by their claims, if there's a chance of death involved. @Strawman - please actually give reasons for what you do. If you only post like that, I will lynch you. @Stink - trolling like that (the evil claim) only hurts the village. Please don't do it again...
  10. o.O Camping outside for release day soon?
  11. Coming SoonTM to web-browser near you!
  12. @Lopen: Ended up being out all evening too :/ But in the morning, it will be Saturday, so I'll have plenty of time to actually read what people say. Re: Mayor - I believe I'm obligated to vote Wilson for mayor, should she want the title.
  13. @Lopen: I've had classes, and will for the next few hours as well. So I'll actually come back and contribute in ~4 hours
  14. HamiltonNinja'd... (Well, more my page was out of date...)
  15. See, entry to factions would be based on player actions, if I could make it work. And there almost definitely wouldn't be secret factions.
  16. Well sure. But metacode is a more amusing thought.
