  1. Mid Range 18 - Patji’s Caldron Rumors of an artefact found deep in the jungles of one of the islands of the Pantheon have made it to the Homeisles. While it generated some buzz, most have just passed it off as the ramblings of a mad Trapper, but not you. Under the leadership of Idoya, and with the help of Second of the Twilight, and First of the Noon, Trappers based on the island in question, you have all set off on an expedition to find this artefact, and bring it back, if at all possible. Three days after making landfall, people started to die. The first few seemed to be accidents, caused by the very real dangers of the jungle, and the creatures that inhabit it. Then someone was found dead, with a blade from the Homeisles left in their back. The Rules There are two teams: Researchers and Traitors. The Traitors are trying to prevent the expedition from succeeding, and ruining the company funding the venture, by causing the party to be killed in the jungle. The Researchers understandably want to survive, and will exile Traitors found from the group, trusting that the without a guide, the jungle will take care of any left behind. The Researchers win if all the Traitors are dead. The Traitors win if they outnumber the living Researchers. Each cycle will be 48 hours long, and will be a combined Day/Night cycle. Everyone may vote to lynch a player. Vote for a player by posting their name in red. To retract a vote, in a subsequent post (or edit it into the bottom of your post, if no one has posted after you) put the players name in green. If you forget to retract a vote, and end up with multiple votes on different players, I will be taking the earliest vote placed. 2 votes are required to lynch a player. If the lynch is tied with 2 or more votes, one of the tied players will be chosen at random to die. Please use players profile names, rather than their character names, when placing votes. Traitors are able to communicate privately with each other in a shared doc. Each cycle they can decide to kill one player. Once a target is decided, one person must put in the kill order in their role PM. If multiple orders are placed, targeting different players, no kill will happen. All discussion must happen in the main thread - there will be no player-player PMs. Once during the game, the Traitors can request the GM put in lynch votes on behalf of their team. Every living Traitor must agree to this action. If this happens, the votes will be posted ~3 minutes prior to the end of cycle. NOTE The purpose of running this game is to allow people to practice or learn the skills necessary to find/catch eliminators just based on what they say, and how they vote. I feel this is something that we’ve not had a lot of lately, and that it could be something that contributes to players going inactive in games, if they don’t have an interesting role. This is only going to work if players make the effort to contribute to the game. Please consider, before signing up, if you are going to be able to put in the time to keep up with the game, and contribute to discussion. Consider not signing up if you don’t honestly think you will be able to remain active for the entire game. P.S. I guarantee that there definitely won't necessarily be secrets. Quick Links
  2. Hmph. I thought that I might have had a local copy of some of the MR7 docs, but alas, seems not. @Kasimir You should come by the SE discord channel at some point, if you ever have the time. It'd be nice to chat again at some point. Edit: Huh. So not only was it my second action period of the game, but I was one of only three victims... More people died that night though, yes?
  3. The other publishes would have helped. I still would have waited till we had mastery of all of the planets though. Doc, what were your action changes that changed things twice? I assume first was the decision to spike yourself, stopping the CoA win. What was the other? Were you going to kill Clanky or something? Oh and while I think about it, if anyone had been on discord in the music channel about half an hour after the night 9 cycle was posted, and saw me queue "I see fire", that was because I had just put in my orders then.
  4. Night 9 was going to be the first two unties. Next cycle, Doc and I would have untied two other worlds, and finished publishing (one of my goals was to have my faction publish on every planet, and we only had two done). Then I'd have jumped somewhere else to untie the last planet. The untie actually wasn't going to be as expensive as you might expect. Publishing gives {3} to anyone on the planet, and to anyone on other planets who could use the primary investiture. But I had an ability that meant as soon as we gained mastery on a planet (a requirement to publish), I could start using its primary investiture, and so when anyone else, including but especially doc, published, I'd get investiture. By dividing up the unties between us, and taking into account that I started with {15} and doc with {9}, we actually only needed {11} and {7} between us to start untying stuff (assuming we left our five publishes till we started untying). The fact that other people published, and we found ourselves delayed by not having people to interview, we ended up collecting way more investiture than we needed. In the end, time was our enemy, but we could have feasibly been able to pull off our win, had we done a better job of organising interviews and stuff - we wasted ~3 cycled over the game, and ended up needed 3 more cycles to win. So this game may have been broken/unbalanced, but I think our goal was fine, although had there been more lynches and night kills, maybe that would have changed. On the one hand, more kills would mean a higher chance of Doc or I dying, and as soon as either of us died, the amount of time required would have doubled (more if it was me, as it was easier for me to gain investiture, plus my death would have prevented Doc from completing one of his goals), plus it would potentially make it harder to gain mastery of planets if the relevant people died. But on the other hand, it may have given us more time too. But anyway, thanks Nyali and El for the game, twas good fun! And thanks to you doc, for putting up with me for a month. Now to go back on hiatus for a month till exams are done. After that, I should be back and might run some games myself, just as I incorporate the madness of the Old ones into game rules...
  5. He did need the items, if you were wondering. That wasn't a lie. Like he said, it was only used for an explosive ending. Also, no faction won (Independent doesn't count as a faction). And yes, very fond of my Haelfire (you can take your pick on if that's referencing balefire or hellfire).
  6. Heh. And that is what happens when you try and end the game before Khriss and Nazh are done.
  7. That... Is a good point.
  8. Issue is, Araris said he'd kill Ecth tonight anyway. So if he's not lynched, he'll need to be blocked or redirected, or Ecth protected.
  9. Okay, then. Ecthelion Araris. If you want the game to continue, vote Araris.
  10. How many more rounds do people need to complete their goals?
  11. My intention is to encourage lynching someone else. I will move my vote once a lynch is consolidated on someone else.
  12. Because I don't want the game to end, and blocking Bard from leading the lynch might help prevent it.
  13. Are we lynching him, or will it be a night kill?
  14. Lopen Conquestor
  15. Ecthelion{6}: Bard, Aman, PK, Araris, Lopen, Silverblade Lopen{5}: Dalinar, Wonko, Clanky, Dankness, Hael I don't know why Lopen - I don't think I've anything against you. Really, I'd be willing to lynch most anyone else ( or really, no one at all). I mean, I don't like Dankness'(?) comment last cycle about making fabrials to power the knot. That sounds like GoH to me.
  16. 4 on Lopen, 5 on Ect I'm not ready for the game to end, not even close. So Lopen. Sorry :/
  17. @Dankness Ascendant What I meant by that was LG26 is your first game of Sanderson Elimination. And I've not done much outside of SE for you to really have bumped into me.
  18. It may not have been in my user title the whole time (though it has for at least the last six months). But you joined in SE relatively recently though, right? I've been hiatusing for the last while.
  19. You might be able to awaken it? Not sure how that works, but it'd be a little hard for it do anything, if it were. I need to spend another 4 cycles of doing other stuff to mostly finish one of my goals anyway, and I only need 1 random unique (although I need to end with it). I'm sure I'll be able to find another one later, so feel free to trade it to Doc. I'll live (particularly if I don't have to make deals with you )
  20. :'( but what about me, Wonko? If anyone else is interested, I have an item which helps sickness which I'm happy to trade for someone's unneeded *unique...
  21. Ah. Then I was the Herald of the Brightness Ascendant 3 months before he joined the 17th Shard, so if anything, I should be asking him if it's a coincidence.
  22. I'm guessing Meta would rather you post when you have something to share then. Well, M'Hael is certainly a reference to the Wheel of Time. I'm often referred to as Hael, and then Kasimir began calling me M'Hael. But the M'Hael has no effect, and does not inform anything relating to my position as Herald.
  23. I think Meta's concern was the 'I have nothing to share, but might eventually'. The first three reserved posts (mine, Elbereth, Burnt) were a 'Wait while we go collate all the stufff we've done over the last year, that we can finally post all in one spot'.
