  1. Emergency rule clarification: With Specialized Lines of Making, you will be told exactly what your target did. In this case, you would be informed that they tried to grab an item, but failed. If your target is roleblocked by normal Lines of Vigor, you will be told they were roleblocked, and what action they were trying to do. If your target was hit by upgraded Lines of Vigor, you will be told what your target attempted to do, but will not learn they were roleblocked.
  2. Wei grew concerned. It was nearly dawn, and they hadn't organized their defenses yet. That could to lead to trouble, and so he did an early morning check of their perimeter. Everything seemed to be in order, but he still had an uneasy feeling. He glanced over his shoulder, and saw one of the other soldiers standing behind him. He tried turning around, but a gash had opened in his abdomen. The Forgotten slashed at him relentlessly with a knife, killing Wei within a matter of seconds. They briefly glowed white and the blood washed from their clothes. The camp may have been secure, but they had other ways to deal with these pesky Rithmatists, and with the discovery of a gun, hopefully the camp would turn on itself even more. Illwei has died. They were a Rithmatist. Camp Supply: Player List: This Day will end on February 8th, at 8 PM CST.
  3. And that's the end of the night.
  4. The ticking of the clock seemed ever present. It beat back and forth, almost hypnotically. Connie's head started bobbing to the rhythm. It was so relaxing to her. Even as the camp debated killing her, she couldn't keep her eyes off the clock. Sweat, and white condensation began pouring from her face. So this is what they were fighting for. The camp needed no further evidence, and quickly grabbed her. However, she had already passed on, with a smile on her lips. The first Forgotten had fallen. Vote Count: Condensation (6): Archer, StrikerEZ, Illwei, TJ Shade, Devotary of Spontaneity, Kasimir Gears (2): Araris Valerian, STINK Illwei (1): Ventyl Lotus (1): Shard of Reading Condensation has died. They were a Forgotten. Items Taken: Camp Supply: Player List: This Night will end on February 6th at 8 PM CST. The Strength of the Wild Chalklings is at 2.
  5. And we're closed.
  6. Rules Clarification time: PAFO. Order of Actions: Day: Vigor, Making, Silencing, Bribe, Acid, Giving, Gun, Lynch, Supply, Map, Steal, Revocation Night: Vigor, Forbiddance, Making, Warding, Clock, Supply, Map, Steal, Revocation, Giving, Gun, Kill, Crab, Teach You always forget something. Teaching goes at the very end of OoA. You only get the Specialization at the start of the next day. Teaching can be affected by LoV and LoF. The Thief must possess five valuable items to win. If they use up an item, it does not count to their win condition. They also must survive the turn they gain their last item, to successfully escape. For not-specialized Lines of Making, they see that their target targeted no one. For upgraded Lines of Making, they see that the target drew a Line of Warding. Yes. Both the target and the Non-Rithmatist learn what Specialization was taught. The rules are correct. The Thief's ability is random. The Book is immediately consumed, so a Crab would not see it. The Shadowblaze is a passive item, so that would be seen by a Crab. There is an exception with the Non-Rithmatist. When the Non-Rithmatist gets the Shadowblaze, it is immediately consumed, so it would not show up via a Crab scan. You see that they targeted no one. You also get this result if they forget to submit an action, or if they draw a Line of Warding.
  7. Nicole Cooper double checked the Defenses. It was good work, and would buy the camp enough time to make a tactical retreat. Unfortunately, she could do nothing except inspect, since she was out of chalk. She used her lantern to dash away the shadows, and once again looked for a piece of chalk. Perhaps there was still one on Joshua's body? She hated doing it, but she headed back to Joshua's grave. However, she was not alone. Something inhuman was hunched over the corpse. White light poured from the Rithmatist into the thing's maw, making it stronger somehow. As she shone the lantern, she realized this was no beast. It was one of the people from the camp, a body twisted into a feral state. It saw her with milky white eyes. Her lantern went out. And then, it was all over. Quinn0928 has died. She was a Rithmatist. Camp Supply: Player List: This Day will end at 8 PM CST on February 5th.
  8. Okay time.
  9. Time for another Rules Clarification post: I'm quoting some of them directly, but I've been paraphrasing others. A few of these I've been coming up with before anyone asks them. If both the Bribe and Line are targeting the same person, the vote is cancelled, and the Bribe is wasted. If the Line targets the person using the Bribe, the vote of the Bribe's target becomes a no vote. Specialized Lines of Forbiddance block Lines of Vigor, but the action itself can still be blocked. This is kind of tricky, so let's break it down. Let's say Player A uses a Specialized Line of Forbiddance on themselves. They cannot be affected by Lines of Vigor and kills. Now let's say Player A uses a Specialized Line of Forbiddance on Player B. Player B is immune to Lines of Vigor and kills. However, Player A is not immune to Lines of Vigor or kills. If Player A targets Player B with a Specialized Line of Forbiddance, and if Player A is targeted by a Line of Vigor, Player A is blocked, so the Specialized Line of Forbiddance never happens. In this case, Player B is now vulnerable to the kill or other Lines of Vigor. No. Unlike Lines of Warding, which must be done at Night, the Acid Bucket can only be used during the Day. Yes. This means a Forgotten can't kill someone and use an item during the same turn. The target will be told that they failed to grab the item, which is identical to the response when RNG doesn't favor you when grabbing from the Camp Supply. The Strength of the Chalklings remains the same. Nope. If you want to tame the horde, you have to deal with their masters. Yes it is. This means that the Forgotten would no longer benefit from the reduction in Defense.
  10. The Camp was all in a flurry. At first, the camp rallied against Wei, who had come down with a cough. He put up a fearsome defense though, and proposed that Evan Wallace be targeted instead. However, Evan claimed that he had no Rithmatic powers whatsoever, which would clear him of being evil. Wei then turned the crowds attention to Joshua, who had narrowly escaped death the previous day. The vote seemed at a complete deadlock. However, some back room deal was made, and Joshua found himself on the chopping block. The crowd's indignation was so great, that Wei's voice was lost among the crowd. However, this was not a victory. Joshua was just another soldier, and the chalkling horde had grown even more massive. Matrim's Dice was a Rithmatist. Vote Count: Matrim's Dice (6): Quinn0928, Flyingbooks, Araris Valerian, TJ Shade, Devotary of Spontaneity, Kasimir Illwei (6): Ashbringer, Ventyl, StrikerEZ, Random Bystander, Condensation, Matrim's Dice Archer (2): Lotus, STINK Flyingbooks (1): Mist Ventyl (1): Alvron Items Taken: Camp Supply: Player List: Apologies for the late writeup, but I wanted to make sure there were no mistakes. This Night will end on February 3rd at 8 PM CST. The Strength of the Wild Chalklings is at 3.
  11. This thread is closed. Give me some time to figure out what happened.
  12. Rule Clarification time Neither of those show up in the writeup. No, you will not be. Yes, they will. The Specialization is chosen at random, but the Non-Rithmatist does learn which one they handed out. No, they are not. Forgot to put it in there. The Lantern goes after the Defense is determined, but before the Supply is looted. So, if you grab a Lantern during the Night, you won't learn how much Defense the Camp had that Night. Night: Vigor, Forbiddance, Making, Warding, Clock, Lantern, Supply, Map, Steal, Revocation, Giving, Gun, Kill, Crab
  13. The mess hall was not quiet that night. Many soldiers stayed awake, tossing and turning, listening to the chalkling horde outside. Others saw this as an opportunity to grab many coveted supplies. When morning finally dawned, the Rithmatists took count of their number. No one had vanished during the night, and no corpses were found. Was the Forgotten threat truly real? One thing was for certain though. The wild chalklings were eagerly circling the building, and the Supply was now out of chalk. The soldiers would need to find a new, more defensible position if they all wanted to survive for much longer. No one died! Camp Supply: Player List: This Day will end on February 2nd at 8 PM CST.
  14. Alright, the round is closed.
  15. So, approx 3 and 1/2 hours from now. Get your actions in foks.
  16. Yes it can.
  17. Slightly. The Thief's action goes before Lines of Revocation, so if the Thief and a Line of Revocation go after a player with only one item, the Thief gets it. If you lose an item, you will not know if it was a Line of Revocation or the Thief.
  18. This is false. All roles besides the Non-Rithmatist can draw Lines, including the Thief.
  19. Rules Clarification Time: Nope. Acid and Lines of Warding contribute to the Defense of the Camp, and does not affect the Strength of the Chalklings. Unless you have a Lantern, you will not know how much Defense the Camp has each night. No. You have to wait until the following turn. So, you can grab a crab during the Day, and use the Crab at night, but you can't immediately Grab and Use a Crab during the same Day You get two actions. One for the Day Turn, and One for the Night Turn Yes it does. Note that if you are targeting someone else with your Line of Forbiddance, you can still be blocked though, and that would leave your target defenseless.
  20. The debate in the crowded mess hall grew louder and louder. A self-professed Servant of the Mad God claimed to be a Forgotten, but was ultimately dismissed. The crowd eventually set its eyes on Joshua. His arguments were flawed, and drew many criticisms. However, Joshua begged for his life, and set the mob on a different target. Dan was normally one of the most talkative people on the front lines, but he had gone strangely silent during this argument. The camp reasoned that this was proof enough that Dan had been possessed. Unfortunately, Dan was not possessed, and was merely unprepared for the deluge of words against him. He died quickly, not even getting to say any last words. Vote Count: Dannex (6): Ashbringer, Burnt Spaghetti, Illwei, Matrim's Dice, Quinn0928, Ventyl Matrim's Dice (4): FlyingBooks, StrikerEZ, TJ Shade, Devotary of Spontaneity Gears (3): Araris Valerian, Kasimir, STINK Illwei (1): Archer Random Bystander (1): Mist Dannex was a Rithmatist. Items Taken: Camp Supply: Player List: This Night will end at 8 PM CST on January 31st. The Strength of the Wild Chalklings is at 2.
  21. That's time. Please stop PMing while I figure out what just happened.
  22. Alright, time for a big old rules clarification post. First off, here's the Order of Actions Day: Vigor, Making, Silencing, Bribe, Acid, Grabbing an Item, Map, Steal, Revocation, Giving an Item, Gun, Lynch Night: Vigor, Forbiddance, Making, Warding, Clock, Grabbing an Item, Map, Steal, Revocation, Giving an Item, Gun, Kill, Crab, Lantern No it would not. it would see any items they grabbed during the night though. New items are also added if someone uses a Map. New items are not added at the start of the day. PAFO (Play And Find Out) It is a Night action. The target learns a random Specialization that they do not already know. They do not learn the identity of the Non-Rithmatist. You can pass an item during the Day or Night. If given an item, you will not be told who gave it to you. You cannot reject an item. That means if a Forgotten gives the Non-Rithmatist the Shadowblaze, the Non-Rithmatist must accept that "gift". It does not. This is a change from the original game. Most items are one-use only. The exceptions to this rule are the Shadowblaze and Lanterns. Based on the Order of Actions, that is correct. No. Taking a single item from the Supply is one action, and you only get one action per turn. I messed this up on the Day 1 thread vs the official rules, leading to some confusion. To be clear, there is no vote minimum, and I edited the Day 1 post accordingly. It's an interesting idea, but the answer is no. To function properly, this game assumes that the threat level will vary, and having no vote defeats that. Yes. For instance, you can use Lines of Silencing and choose not shut someone out of PMs. Just be clear about that in your action submission, since the default will be to use the powered up version. I'm actually going to extend this cycle slightly. Rollover is now going to be a 8 PM CST. It just works better for my schedule, and this will be the rollover time going forward.
  23. Okay, all role PMs should now be sent out. Let me know if you did not get yours.
  24. Survivors of the initial onslaught slowly banned together around an abandoned mess hall. The troops were exhausted, and eyed each other with weary looks. The mess hall still had some supplies, and more importantly, it had maps to other more defensible positions. However, the troops knew that there must be Forgotten among them. The camp was going to descend into chaos, but a semblance of order was established. It was decided that a Court Martial be held, with the express purpose of finding any Forgotten. Unfortunately, the survivors were from different platoons, so uncovering a Forgotten among them would be difficult. With tempers running high though, it would only be a matter of time before someone fell to the mob. This Day turn will end at 8 PM CST on Saturday, January 30th. The Court Martial has no vote minimum, and ties will be decided randomly. As a reminder, you can use your action during the Day to take one of the lovely items from the Camp Supply. Please be patient with me while I distribute your GM PMs. Camp Supply: Player List:
  25. This thread is closed. The game will be going up shortly. Good luck to everyone.
