  1. The cheating is annoying, too. Timmy always sneaks his coppermind into tests. Violet Riots everyone whenever she gives a speech in English, and don't get me started on Fast Eddy. Steel compounding just isn't fair in phys ed - he's a telekinetic speedster!
  2. Or if Harmony involves reducing disharmony. I think smashing Shards counts as disharmonious.
  3. I would imagine that spanreed movement is calculated as compared to the center of Roshar. This should actually cause transfer of information from lower to higher altitudes to be enlarged slightly, but only a tiny amount as long as everyone is on the surface of Roshar, and it would scale, so you wouldn't be able to tell without examining a large sample of messages sent across altitude.
  4. "You misplaced the spike on zinc, and in the context of a doubles displacement reaction, I really think the feruchemical symbol would be more appropriate. Next time, I want to see Vorin numerals. 93%."
  5. May I suggest the Glyphs For Profiles thread for various professionally produced Sanderson profile pics? There's surgebinding, Allomancy, feruchemy, rithmatics, and more, all reduced to profile pic size and touched up by our very own Awesomeness Summoned.
  6. Buy. I can't wait to see his arc plunge him from the height of renown to the depths of monstrosity, egged along by the simplistic Syl. Kandrallomancers will be a thing.
  7. Read Pact. It's a surprisingly well-plotted and good web serial - and as like to give you nightmares as King.
  8. I'd guess the daughter of an officer in Kaladin's army?
  9. Sell The antagonist will be the result of the Allomancer breeding.
  10. Haha, we don't know (as far as I'm aware). Welcome to the 17th Shard, Vanavel! Also, your post contains many spoilers, so maybe could you put [*spoiler]Wordsyousaid brackets around it? Just remember to remove the asterisk! Thanks, and, again, welcome!
  11. Buy Wayne will be the ancestor to the protagonist in the modern trilogy
  12. Look on the bright side: Iron ferrings are now permanent human kites.
  13. On the psychologically normal bit: He may seem like it, but he's given up his wife's memory in exchange for...something. Or vice versa. That's hardly something you'd do unless a traumatizing event happened in the past.
  14. They've discovered a way to turn Feruchical charge into electricity, so all Feruchemists are forbidden by law to tap their metalminds. They have to store as much as humanly possible, all the time, and as a result often die early.
  15. Sell Lighteyes are going to find themselves on the sharp end of a cultural revolution - and the KR are going to have to pick sides.
  16. The President solemnly dons an aluminum foil hat before every speech, polished to a gleam, to prove that he speaks for himself.
  17. Buy. But he'll still question himself, and it'll make him a better leader. Syl's memories of her last Surgebinders will come back over time.
  18. Buy the first, sell the second. It will be Nalthis, but a part we haven't explored. Hoid can fly.
  19. We need a lolKurk with this caption: U can no has dreams!!
  20. Now, if anyone asks you if they can borrow your notes, you can warn them that your writing's hard to read. Then, give it to them, wait ten seconds, and admire the look of utter confusion plastered across their face
  21. Well, I still think industry would tend towards machines. Machines don't get injured as easily, and they don't sue you when they do. In addition, the relative rarity of thugs would be prohibitive - and using Allomancy 9-5 every day could have culminative effects on you - consider pewter dragging. This applies for Lurchers and Coinshots as well - there are just so many things you could do with those powers that are enjoyable that it would take a huge amount of money to tempt them to act as human electromagnets for monorails. I can see something like that happening in a authoritarian imperial reign of fear, but I doubt that's going to happen again on Scadrial. For pigeonholing - absolutely. However, I can see specialist "Allomancer Corps" operations springing up - companies that use Allomancers and Feruchemists for contract work - or special departments in public service. Of course, the application of the magic is wide enough that you could probably find academic work even as a thug - I'm imagining pewter-dragging to work on a thesis. You know, piles of white powder everywhere, scribbling furiously. Emotional Allomancy - that could be a problem. It would be something to conceal from birth, for certain.
  22. Buy. She's confined to a very narrow view of the world. Of course, Kaladin's gonna disagree with her at some point too - and he might have to choose between the Syl and the world. There are planets in the Cosmere populated totally by sci-fi style aliens, no magic, no humans, just high technology.
  23. Sell. I think Adolin has "impending heroic death" written all over him, personally. Hoid is unable to harm because of a magic system he picked up that he doesn't want to lose.
  24. Sell. He says he knew exactly what his boon and curse were, and having knowledge that you forgot something that simple would defeat the purpose. Sazed knows who Kaladin is.
