  1. Actions: 1: Try for an Heir (male-Althen, female-Alethia") 2: Arrange a marriage between my new child and an NPC 3: In my PM
  2. Yay! I like not having the game drag on for ages when only a few players are left alive.
  3. Okay, the only thing I have right now is a minor comment about something Aman mentioned. He talked about the mechanics for both tied lynches, and for filtering inactive players. But he never mentioned that we could use the lynch to kill 2 people intentionally, 1 person that has been implicated by discussion, and another that, for whatever reason, we don't want to focus the lynch on but still want to kill. Maybe it isn't so relevant to inactives, since we do have a filter, but we can deal with Pirate or other claims with extra lives by using a double lynch.
  4. Well Nyali, if it makes you feel any better, then know that Penrod only has 3 players that can vote right now, since Zas is traveling and Phatt has been gone all game. So there are still plenty of chances for you guys to beat us. But I was actually thinking the same thing about Cloud's vote. I forgot that you had a third player on your team, so I justified that if you have 2 players, one is pretty sure to be spiked and it would make sense to target your own faction in that case. But with 3 people you are less certain and are probably better off killing a meme beer of another faction. I'm going to hold off on voting for a while until I hear from Cloud, since you guys basically did the same thing, Nyali just took the time to explain. And Nyali, you have been mentioned a few times now as the most suspicious player in Cett, by players within Cett.
  5. Conquestor suggested a similar thing in our doc. I think he misunderstood how the Koloss work.
  6. I'm gonna vote on Straw. He has done a few things that seemed like they mostly were attempts to create chaos, rather than to support his own faction victory or help find the Spiked. Although, I would also be totally willing to lynch Phatt, since he has been frustratingly absent for pretty much the entire game.
  7. Alain laid in his bed for hours after the Inquisitor had left, unable to return to sleep. Bother that skaa. He was supposed to give the Atium to his house, as a reward for their promotion of skaa craftsmen... This is the second time that the Inquisition has taken direct action against my House, and once again it is due to a lack of communication. All that matters right now is to get Alera back, though. We can put up with whatever foolishness the Inquisition requires, but I will go to war to save her. His mind made up, Alain downed a flask of metals and began burning pewter, partly to stave off the fatigue, and partly to stabilize his trembling limbs. Then he headed toward his study and began penning the letters that would determine the fate of Alera. Actions 1-3 Who: Alain Penrod What: Writing 3 letters, 1 to the Inquisition, 1 to the Ministry, and 1 to the Lord Ruler Why: To explain that the skaa craftsman was supposed to give the atium back to the House he belonged to, and to offer bribes and reassurances to secure the return of Alera to House Penrod Where: The letters will be written in Hadrium, and taken by Alain himself to their various destinations I'm going to try and write/post at least one of the letters here before the turn ends, and maybe work on them some tomorrow.
  8. Well Straw, you kinda forgot (or at least didn't mention) that there are Mistborn in this game, in addition to coinshots, as far as role-blocking ability goes. So I am not too sure that you will get other factions to reveal the name of their coinshot when there are other possibilities.
  9. I've been really busy with life stuff, so I haven't been on to pay attention to the thread or my doc for the last 30 hours or so. I'm going to vote for Sart, although I'm a bit wary after Aman's claim earlier. I think the main thing in favor of Elbereth telling the truth is that she was on first. I don't know what sort of time zone situation was going on, but I suspect that it is more likely that a coinshot would want to check the thread quickly to see the results of their action. I would like to know, from both Venture people, what roles did you two claim to your doc?
  10. I was actually just going to back you up with my own vote on Conquestor. (What is up with your vote coloring, by the way? I do like how it is visible, I suppose.) Whoever's faction he is in probably is really frustrated with him right now, and I don't honestly find any of the in-thread activity of any of the players up for the lynch here to be particularly suspicious. (And my faction wants some boxings)
  11. Haha, I just noticed in the writeup, "The Inquisitor rolled their eyes." That must have been a sight to see. Anyway, a couple things I have noticed so far in this discussion: I am going to hazard that Nyali is in Cett, since Straw seems determined to divert attention from her to Penrod. Straw, could you please tell us, if Burnt is your faction's least suspect player, then who is the most suspected? Secondly, it seems that most of the suspicion on Nyali comes from things that have been demonstrated to be false. So I'm going to wait to place my vote a bit longer. I'm honestly surprised that none of the factions have offered inactive players for the lynch. I guess that means that likely there aren't any in Cett, since the general group opinion seems to be to lynch a member of Cett. And that is most of what I can say without revealing my faction, although I probably shouldn't be bothering, since I'm obviously a Penrod :D.
  12. Bother. You know, that Atium was supposed to go to the House that had the best skaa, to encourage the Houses to treat their skaa well, not the the skaa themselves. Somebody in House Penrod should be executed for making a mistake like that... Oh well, it's not as if the inquisition was ever going to like me in the first place.
  13. I'm sorry, but I find it rather funny how much people are saying that 1) We are ignoring the Spiked, and 2) We are unwilling to vote for our teammates. Guys, there have been 3 lynches this game, for the Lord Ruler's sake. Day 1 was somewhat undirected, as usual. Day 2 we had a claimed seeker claim to have scanned a Spiked, so people voted there, rather than sticking with faction votes. Day 3 we made sure that things like what Aman did are discouraged. Every cycle the lynch has been pretty similar to a normal, no faction SE game. Sure, the discussion has been different, but that makes sense because there is no distinguishable eliminator kill. But the end results of our lynches so far haven't been that far off. At this point, with 4 spiked players, there are basically 5 factions of roughly equal size. Some of the more vocal players have been eliminated, but that just means the rest of us can take control for a change. I personally am having a lot of fun with the game and the way everyone has been playing it, and strongly disagree with all the people who are claiming the spiked are going to win to stop their own faction from getting lynched.
  14. I'm gonna vote for Aman now, I've explained my reasoning already.
  15. @TheMightyLopen The thing is, Aman has a reputation for doing exactly what he did just now, in previous games. I'm actually mad at myself right now for believing what he said, but I was only online for a short while last time and didn't think of Aman's reputation when I went along with his vote. Also, by "smartest" I guess I mean the most productive option for his team, which is different for most productive for the village, since there is a bit of a distinction this game. And honestly, I don't regard Aman as personally dangerous to me. But I think it is silly for us to let something like what he did slide by. Hey everybody, I am a Seeker and I seeked Lopen and found that he is a Spiked, and didn't use a power last cycle. (But I didn't.) Would anybody believe me? No. You guys would totally lynch me next cycle if I claimed something like this. Well, Aman did (roughly) the exact same thing, so I am going to do my best to lynch him.
  16. @Amanuensis I totally understand that what you did was probably the smartest thing you could have done, regardless of your faction or alignment (and kinda mentioned that in my previous post). That doesn't change that it is also the most suspicious thing any player has done this game, at least in my opinion. You should fully expect to be lynched for pulling something like that off, especially with your reputation with hanging around as an exposed eliminator in a couple of previous games. As far as "wanting" to attack Penrod, you presented the idea as a serious suggestion. That is all I was implying, similar to what Orlok did. If Orlok really badly wanted to reveal faction lists, he probably would have started with his own. I think the comparison is still valid.
  17. Well Aman, I just don't trust you anymore. I'm not really sure if there is anything you can say at this point to make me trust you. My suspicion of Orlok was similar to my suspicion of you (that is to say, somewhat low), since both of you had posted somewhat controversial ideas in an attempt to spark discussion. You wanted everyone to attack Penrod, and he wanted everyone to faction reveal. Both plans were eventually decided against, and it can be argued that both plans also favor the Spiked team more. Now, we know that he is confirmed good, and all we know about you is that you lied. As a small side note, if you are actually the Inquisitor, and were going to have been lynched, then a lot of what you did makes sense (it also makes sense that you would lie to set your faction above another, since this is SE :D). If the Inquisitor can soothe, that would help him build his team. Alvron is a strong player, so knowing if he had a power worth converting would make sense, and the gambit you pulled off would let you live to spike another turn. Even if you are just a regular spiked, it totally makes sense to take another player down with you. If I recall, that worked in LG 1 and the fake seeker didn't even end up getting killed. But yeah, I don't think anyone else could really do anything as suspicious as you at this point, although I would be happy if someone could prove me wrong!
  18. It was a really small thing that came up in my doc discussion. If a single faction revealed their list Night 0, then the Inquisitor would gain less information from spiking a member of that faction than by spiking some other random player. So in that one instance, it could have been reasonable for a single faction to reveal their list of members. However, we have passed the point where that matters, and it is only relevant since Orlok posted his idea back during Night 0.
  19. I guess for me it has to do with the way you formulated your argument. Your last paragraph has weak(er) evidence than the one before it, and they both had the same general topic, which struck me the wrong way, like you were trying to wrap something up that had never been fully covered in the first place. But now I see that I didn't misinterpret you, so I just want you (and other players) to know that I have slightly elevated you on my suspect list.
  20. @Mailliw73 I guess House Penrod decided that ties weren't really in their best interest, haha. @jaimeleecee It was really your response to Rae that set me off. Of course people are going to present things as pro village. Different players emphasize that sort of thing in their posts by different amounts, and that kinda comes down to playstyle, since it is generally seen as redundant by the community. Also, this is a game where it can be argued that there is a legitimate reason to not pursue the Inquisitor. I disagree with those folks, but that decision is up to them. So it is at least nice to have claims from some people about which goals they are assigning the highest priority.
  21. I don't know where I stand on Orlok. I think there are multiple ways to go about faction reveals, some of which wouldn't hurt the integrity of the game. I actually think that if one faction had revealed their player list during Night 0, it could have insulated them from getting spiked, since the Inquisitor would already know what players that faction would have. Also, there is the possibility of revealing faction lists, but not the name of the faction, and maybe splitting each faction into 2 groups. So we would have some sort of idea of who was working together, but the Kandra actions that reveal player factions wouldn't be totally shot. In the end, my personal bias against info reveals means that I don't want to do what Orlok suggested, but I'm also not willing to lynch him for it. Instead, I'll follow up my vote from last cycle on Joe again, and note that I got a bad read from Jaime's most recent post, so I would be willing to move my vote there as well.
