Long Game 28: The Awakening at the House on the Hill
Araris Valerian replied to Wyrmhero's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Arinian. Yeah, look through last cycle Wonko, there were only about 2 pages of posts. Unless Arinian was trolling, and had the support of the traitors, he is definitely an eliminator.- 980 replies

Long Game 29: A Mote in Adonalsium's Eye
Araris Valerian replied to Seonid's topic in Sanderson Elimination
@The Young Bard, it was more to just get a vote out there. I didn't know you were lurking, I just wanted to demonstrate that for the most part none of us should trust each other, and thus we should be fine with killing just about anybody. The people that aren't fine with that are the eliminators, so responses to that sort of thing can help find them.- 984 replies

Long Game 29: A Mote in Adonalsium's Eye
Araris Valerian replied to Seonid's topic in Sanderson Elimination
The reason it applies is that people seem reluctant to place votes, presumably because they could lead to the death of innocent players. But when given the Cursori role, nobody was reluctant to put in a kill order before the game even started. I just wish people had that same level of aggression here.- 984 replies

Long Game 29: A Mote in Adonalsium's Eye
Araris Valerian replied to Seonid's topic in Sanderson Elimination
@Master Elodin, somebody has to die this cycle, and the only person whose alignment I am sure of is my own. I'm curious as to why you think I would care whether or not Bard dies. However, I am going to switch my vote from Bard to Magestar. Not for the reason that Elodin mentioned, but rather because lynching an inactive doesn't give us any information. The eliminators are probably happy to be rid of one of their inactive players to gain trust, and there won't be any exchanges we can look back at in we find an eliminator to move forward with. Also, at least for me, part of the fun of SE is killing people that are probably innocent, and being perfectly justified in doing so. I wouldn't think that our community would be squeamish about lynching innocent, active players after the social experiment in MR Codex Alera.- 984 replies

Long Game 29: A Mote in Adonalsium's Eye
Araris Valerian replied to Seonid's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Well, for now, I say we should all pick somebody we don't mind killing, and vote on them. Then, we can decide of the people with votes on them, who we actually suspect. I personally don't mind killing Bard. Of course, there isn't really anybody that I wouldn't care to kill right now, except maybe Kasimir. I missed all of Day 1 due to Amtrak not having internet, for those who didn't catch my post at the start of last cycle.- 984 replies

Long Game 28: The Awakening at the House on the Hill
Araris Valerian replied to Wyrmhero's topic in Sanderson Elimination
@Unodus, it's a bit early in the cycle to be making the lynch "secure," since there are 22 hours left. Also, my question about JUQ getting roleblocked still stands. It is by no means a done deal that Arinian is an eliminator. C'mon guys, this is embarrassing. I've had the latest post for almost 24 hours now, and in a 19 player game there are only 3 votes. We haven't even gotten answers from Arinian about what happened the cycle he was scanned, or from JUQ about the possibility of him getting roleblocked...- 980 replies

Long Game 28: The Awakening at the House on the Hill
Araris Valerian replied to Wyrmhero's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I found it interested that Hael initially was unwilling to get involved in the Assassin/Arinian lynch, but then eventually decided to vote for Assassin. For now my vote will be on Arinian. Also, it is suspicious that Arinian was not able to be scanned. Wilson, does one of the allomantic abilities block scans? Has anybody else found an item/inherent ability that does something like that? Because a single role that prevents a player from being scanned seems a bit unlikely to me, since the only player that reads with no alignment would clearly be an eliminator. @JUQ, when your action failed on Arinian, do you know if you were roleblocked, or if the scan failed because something was protecting Arinian?- 980 replies

I have a physics final now, and an organic chemistry one in 24 hours, so I don't have tons of time to devote to this this cycle. However, I will try and vote in the next 5 hours or so, probably on Arinian or Ecthelion.- 980 replies

Long Game 28: The Awakening at the House on the Hill
Araris Valerian replied to Wyrmhero's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Well, exploring is nice, since it will eventually let us kill the Heart of the House. We can still spawn Omens, but that is an unavoidable risk. With all the inactives, and all the people that use items/roles, I doubt that much exploration will actually happen in the event of a "mass explore". I don't think there is really that much discussion to be had on the topic.- 980 replies

Unodus Bugsy, we have somewhat established that killing inactives, especially with the lynch, is not helpful. Of the current active/lurking players, who are you willing to kill?- 980 replies

Long Game 28: The Awakening at the House on the Hill
Araris Valerian replied to Wyrmhero's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I think I have mentioned before, but I also am a bit suspicious of Ecthelion. Now, since there is already a poke vote on him, I'll wait and go back through the thread for something more concrete if I decide to vote there. I just noticed that the Omen that would have converted Hael was found during the first night, so it should be a little easier to find eliminators by looking at people that changed their attitude towards him. Based on just the lynch from last cycle, I don't really like Unodus, DA, and Ecthelion's responses to the lynch. Each of them abstained entirely from voting, which is just not helpful to the village at all. It seems to me that in light of a claim like the one Wilson made, there are really 2 options, believe Wilson and vote Hael, or believe Hael and vote Wilson. Not doing either doesn't make sense to me, from a village standpoint. When you vote, we get information about you. If you are village, that information will probably make you more turstworthy. Thus, it is in your best interest to vote. Last thing for now, Hael's vote was moved from Wilson to himself. So there definitely is vote manipulation in this game, as Wilson said, and I would guess that it is from an inherent ability, since there doesn't seem to be much reason to waste a limited use ability on such a meaningless action. Do we have any idea what the Surgebinder role does (or did)?- 980 replies

Nice write-up Wyrm! I'm a little too busy to RP right now, but I'm going to trust Wilson on this one. Haelbarde. As far as my other thoughts on players, I'm a little suspicious of Ecthelion, but I would have to go back through the thread to remember the specifics of that.- 980 replies

Long Game 28: The Awakening at the House on the Hill
Araris Valerian replied to Wyrmhero's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I have definitely not been "against lynching" this entire game, in the sense that I think I've voted every cycle, and I have encouraged other players to participate in the lynch. You also shouldn't have reasons for distrusting me that can't be stated in the thread, since I've sent 4 PMs this whole game, to two separate people, and neither of those PMs had anything that would make sense to share with anybody else.- 980 replies

Long Game 28: The Awakening at the House on the Hill
Araris Valerian replied to Wyrmhero's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I think I've decided to vote on Daniyah. I'm still interested in hearing who revealed Wilson's role, but at this point either Daniyah is a traitor, or somebody in this inforation chain was sharing things they shouldn't have been, and we can confirm or deny Daniyah's story by getting her alignment.- 980 replies

Long Game 28: The Awakening at the House on the Hill
Araris Valerian replied to Wyrmhero's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Aralis woke up to pointed fingers. None of them were pointed at him, fortunately. He was getting tired in his old age, and good chairs just weren't as easy to find as they used to be. So the last night he had stayed put and gotten a good rest. It seemed that Khaos and Yiferian were at odds with each other, although the details apparently involved some private conversation they had been having. Khaos, true to her name, was definitely stirring up a racket, but Yiferian didn't seem to have much to say in response other to attack Khaos as a person. That didn't make much sense to Aralis, since if being crazy wasn't enough to discredit somebody, then personal attacks surely wouldn't do the trick. Well, it seems like passionate!Wilson has showed up! I don't really like how Daniyah has avoid giving us information about the situation, but instead gone to attack Wilson directly. I don't really know how the role system works in this game, but the eliminators definitely gain roles upon their conversion, which makes me suspect that they don't have a protection role. In my judgement then, a WGG is unlikely. I suppose my stance is the same as Straw (Ookla the Paranoid)'s; I would like to hear from @Daniyah both what her action was and the item that she was going to pass, although I suspect the second is a Vial of Iron or a Mixed Metal Vial. And I'll hold off my vote for now, both to allow further discussion on this topic, and to possibly pressure other players later to not waste the rest of daytime discussion if we decide to lynch Daniyah early on. @Wyrmhero, if somebody has a role (from Exploring) and becomes a traitor, would they then have 2 roles?- 980 replies

Long Game 28: The Awakening at the House on the Hill
Araris Valerian replied to Wyrmhero's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I don't quite get what you are trying to say... You imply that lynching Nathan will expose the Heart, and the only way that can happen is if he is an eliminator. So we can assume that you or somebody you are in contact with has a scan role. However, you say that there is only a chance that Nathan is an eliminator, which invalidates everything you said previously. Also, the topic of inactives has been somewhat discussed, and there isn't much reason to lynch people that are totally inactive. (actually, there isn't much reason to scan them either) So, does your information come from a scan?- 980 replies

Wow, just 2 hours left. Sorry for my inactivity this cycle. I've expressed suspicion of Elenion earlier in this game, and that hasn't really changed. I'm kinda busy with classes right now, so I don't have time to look back through earlier cycles, but I trust my past self.- 980 replies

Long Game 28: The Awakening at the House on the Hill
Araris Valerian replied to Wyrmhero's topic in Sanderson Elimination
"Bother you all! If I've explained this once, I've explained it a thousand times! We should kill Nightspud because he took the time to speak up yesterday, but all he talked about was exploring the House, something we already agreed to do only at night. That sort of thing is less useful than a mistwraith that lost its bones, so let's kill him instead of somebody more useful." I'm using orange for my out of character text, since I'm trying to write most of my posts in character this game. I would like to point out that this game kind of has a balancing factor for inactives. Presumably, they aren't exploring, so they won't be finding Omens or getting any roles or items. I think we should leave them alone until the House is dead, and will not contribute towards the lynch of any (fully) inactive player.- 980 replies

Long Game 28: The Awakening at the House on the Hill
Araris Valerian replied to Wyrmhero's topic in Sanderson Elimination
@Assassin in Burgundy I voted for you because last day cycle, rather than helpfully contributing to the lynch discussion, you talked about whether or not we should explore. There is no "gut read" at all, there is me seeing you do something suspicious and unhelpful to the village. If that warrants killing me, then go ahead. Aralis doesn't have much of a tolerance for that sort of thing anyway.- 980 replies

Long Game 28: The Awakening at the House on the Hill
Araris Valerian replied to Wyrmhero's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Aralis turned around when he heard his name called out. "What's that? Speak up young fellow, my ears aren't what they used to be." Someone nearby whispered in Aralis's ear. "Quintus doesn't like me? I've spoken my mind on pretty much everything that has been brought up, which is more than most here can say. Nightspud was wasting his breath, so I say we don't give him anymore! I can't help if you disagree with me, since I'm a disagreeable old man, but please point your finger elsewhere, or I might introduce you to the end of my stick here." Aralis leveled his cane at Quintus as threateningly as he could manage, and then turned back to his contemplation of the nearby window. Jondesu, the thing is, I think the reasoning behind my vote is solid, and as far as other matters are concerned, I've voted each cycle with what I consider to be good justification behind my votes. Aralis isn't going to come out and say it, but we might just have to agree to disagree here. I don't really have a response, since you haven't really accused me of anything.- 980 replies
