  1. @Arraenae Multiple times you took some small statement made by another player and turned it into, basically, an argument to lynch them. You have contributed, for sure, but I think you have made several attempts to sidetrack the conversation.
  2. Well, we have enough votes on Dalinar right now that we don't really need to discuss him anymore. I was going to point out the things that Wilson said about the night, but I guess I don't get to do that now. For reasons I have mentioned before, I think Rae is an eliminator, or at least very unhelpful. From there, I'd like to see the result of the lynch on Dalinar before I comment any further on the situation around him. And I will try and get some substantial reads on other players before I post again. Aralis stepped out from behind a building and right in front of Reginald. The man barely had a chance to react before Aralis's staff caught him in the gut, and he let out an "Oof" as he sank to the ground. Aralis gave him a thwack on the head for good measure, and then began to rummage through Reginald's coat. Eventually, after some somewhat shocking discoveries, he found the bottle of brandy that had been stolen from his cellar. By that point, Reginald was beginning to come to. "Do I have your attention?" Reginald let out a small groan. "Okay, you see this bottle here? My wife gave me this brandy nearly 40 years ago on our wedding day. Now, I'm not a man for drinking, since I value being able to see the world clearly, but now that she and our children are dead, that was all I had left of her. If there really were "Koloss" coming to attack us, I'd tie you up and leave you outside the city for them. As it is, your going to be dead by sunset. So I won't tell anybody where you are, and you won't take any more of my things, okay?" Reginald nodded his head gingerly. "Okay." Aralis knocked the man out one last time, and went back to his house to replace the bottle.
  3. A non-RP thought - Dalinar is almost certainly not a thug trying to continue delaying his lynch. Otherwise, he probably would have mentioned his thug powers last cycle. The mistborn claim seems reasonable, for all the information we have now. So we can revisit him tomorrow, after his extra life is gone. Aralis frowned. Of course people would try to kill Reginald, he was downright annoying. On a personal level, Aralis wouldn't mind being rid of the man himself. However, this was not a time for personal feuds to be dealt with. Actually, as he thought about it, the entire population had embraced the whole "koloss" situation with so much enthusiasm that he wasn't quite sure how he had put up with any of them for as many years as he had. Of all the foolishness he had heard today, however, the worst was from Nicki. Aralis had already given her the what-for when she twisted Nyah's insensible words into a plot, but now the woman was doing it again!
  4. People are waiting for Mr. Hoid to show up, but they aren't actually going to fetch him. They'll be as old as I am by the time they get anything done around here. Why is it that I'm the only person that has any sense in this town? First that Koloss nonsense, and now this... Aralis gave a solid thump to Mr. Hoid's door. Apparently, it was rather too hard of a thumping, because the hinges broke and the door fell inwards. After a quick glance around to see if anybody saw his act of destruction, Aralis peered inside the door. Of course, nobody was home. Well, when the man came back, he would probably get involved in discussion, for the very least to find who had vandalized his home. @Conquestor, you are wanted here! Figured I'd give you a ping just in case you are actually watching. Edit: Missed that Magestar already did this, but nobody in world has done it, so whatever. Also, to clarify my vote on Lopen, several people (including myself) found problems with what Rae posted, but he didn't point any of that stuff out, he just said he mostly agreed. Maybe it's not suspicious, but I did find it a little off.
  5. Aralis shuffed into the town square, leaning heavily on his staff. The night air had been particularly cool last evening, and that was never good for old joints. There he saw the wreckage of Whistler's shop. Whistler himself was a very likeable fellow, but he had an annoying habit of, well, whistling. So Aralis could easily see both shy someone would want to do him harm, and why fellows would go to the effort to save his life. Maybe now the man would realize how annoying his habit was, and put a stop to it. As Aralis pondered the night's events, he overheard Nyah and Nicki having a bit of an argument, and walked up to them. "These Spiked are going to focus on killing all the talkative townsfolk. The talkative ones are much more useful than the quiet folks that stay in their homes, so why bother protecting them?" said Nicki. "Why bother protecting them? Do you want us all to die? I bet you are spiked and don't want us to be able to put up a resistance when the Koloss come." Okay, this is going nowhere fast right now. Aralis stepped in between the two, found his balance, and then swept Nicki's legs from under her with his staff, and thumped her on the head. "Stop talking nonsense! We need everyone to be making sense so that I can get back to sitting on my porch." Nyah looked a bit surprised at how quickly Aralis had moved, and at his violence, but she was more relieved that Nicki was no longer being unhelpful. "Thank you Ara..." Thwack! As Nyah toppled over, Aralis took advantage of the Stunned Silence. Gesturing with his staff towards Nyah, he said, "Okay, Nicki might be talking silly, but you are worse. All this nonsense about Spiked and Koloss is getting us nowhere. And you turning peoples words around isn't helping either." He pointed at Nicki, who was sitting up and rubbing her head. He hadn't been too hard on her. "The same goes for you. Stop trying to confuse people that clearly know what they are doing, considering that Whistler is still alive." With that, Aralis hobbled off to the nearest bench to rest his legs. Okay, so I've expressed most of my thoughts above, but there are some OOC things that are worth mentioning as well. One iteration of this game I was a seeker, and I had a good trust group going. Then I got eliminator killed, not because they knew my role, but because none of them had PMs with me. So the lesson learned is, having a lot of PMs can keep you alive, since the eliminators might feel like they can manipulate you. Also, practice PM safety guys! Lopen. You have posted twice, both simple agreements with other players, and didn't mention any of the issues with Rae's suggestions that have been brought up by other players.
  6. Aralis sat on his porch as the mists began to form. When you were as old as he was, you realized all the superstition about the mists was just foolishness. Actually, evening was the best time of day, since there weren't nearly as many bothersome youngsters out this late. Earlier in the day, some crazy fool had come and said Koloss were marching on the town. That was utter foolishness; Koloss were just as real as the type of mistwraiths that could steal your soul. Aralis would have given him a thump on the head, if it wasn't apparent that somebody had already taken care of that for him. Clearly, somebody in the town was up to no good; that was the only explanation for the man's injuries and his insanity. And when Aralis found out who that was, they would learn that he had enough strength left in him to give more than a deadly beating with his staff.
  7. Thanks for running this game Wyrm and Kas! I would definitely be interested in seeing this game, or a similar one, run again. Having a random conversion triggered by the village is an interesting idea, and I think it is a good way to get around the current meta of the forum. While I kept up with it, this was also a cool environment to write RP in, and a spooky mansion is a great place for Aralis to hang out in for a while.
  8. I'm a little confused. But I think that Bard probably is Hoid, since he is only making a halfhearted claim to defend himself. I mean, claiming being converted by Autonomy seems like a desperate ploy to get a real Automite(?) to out themselves. Bard, if you really aren't Hoid, then can you offer an alternate explanation for what Elenion is claiming? Or do you claim he is lying about those actions? Because he can confirm his identity by simply passing his shard to somebody.
  9. Yeah, @Wonko the Sane went on a cruise. He is back now, so I would like if he would contribute, but I am slightly less wary of him than @Elbereth.
  10. Well, I don't like how she jumped on agreeing with what I said, as the only trusted player. Her immediate agreement strikes me as suspicious, especially when we have nearly 48 hours to talk about everybody. However, I would like to kill the lurkers first. What in particular do you dislike about Wonko compared to Elbereth? I really have no preference, but Wonko had RL reasons to go inactive, and catching up can be a bother in these. I don't recall anything like that from Elbereth.
  11. Okay. Well, that doesn't make you any more trustworthy in my book. But, since you are actively participating in this game, why don't we lynch somebody else. The eliminators still have to play a guessing game with their kill, and I think anybody that has stuck with this game deserves to live until the end. So I'll switch my vote from Seonid to Elbereth. Death to lurkers! I'm not going to lose this game to people that aren't even posting. Also, I can use my ability to kill during the night, so I can knock out Wonko as well, which would leave just the three of us! (as active players, anyways)
  12. Seonid, you mentioned that you have enough vials to do vote manipulation every cycle, and then you say that you would just end up getting lynched the next day. But the situation wouldn't change, so why couldn't you save yourself? From a village perspective, I can definitely see why you wouldn't want to save yourself, but it seems you are contradicting yourself here.
  13. My gut says that you are the active eliminator, or at least one of them, Seonid. Based just on recent activity, you voted for somebody who was totally inactive (earns the eliminator team a free kill), and you have been following the thread enough to see that I posted about killing the House. You also said that if somebody found a role that can kill the House, then they should tell somebody. But there is no reason for that. If I had told anybody about my role, the only thing that could change is that I get targeted by the eliminators, which would have saved the House. I'm definitely not sure about this, so if we hear from other people I might change my mind. Also, thanks whoever protected me last night.
  14. While I am somewhat suspicious of Aonar for defending me last cycle, I think it is a bit premature for him to have 2 votes, both for lurking. Assassin, this early on in the cycle, a vote like that doesn't really accomplish much. I would like to point out that night discussion isn't always super relevant. I try to post a minimum of once or twice during day cycles, but quite often I don't say anything during the night. I'm going to bring back my vote from last cycle on Elenion. Nothing has really changed there, and I don't like how he jumped on me with so little justification.
  15. I will be Aralis. He is a Cynic (does not believe in Spiked or Koloss), Elderly, and is the Bearer of a Large Thwacking Staff. But, since he doesn't like young people that much, and pretty much everyone in the town is young (compared to him), he is happy to participate in the lynch if it means a few less people bothering him for the rest of his life. Cynic: Must mention in every post that Koloss don't exist, and there is nobody trying to sabotage the town Bearer of a Large Thwacking Staff: Must mention relying on a staff in some way in every post, and when directly confronting other players must hit or consider hitting them.
  16. All I'm going to say about Kas Forging me is that I can confirm it happened, and Kas is lying if he got "role-less" from me. Also, aside from Dalinar, I'm kinda suspicious of everybody that has mentioned me this cycle. I did post that I would be out of commission for nearly 48 hours, and lynching a vanilla inactive seems like a waste of a lynch. Likewise, defending a vanilla inactive based on the premise that Kas is misinforming us (intentionally or not) is also suspicious to me. If people defended me because lynching inactives is somewhat pointless, I could understand that. But that isn't what happened. Okay, I went back and read back until when Kas clarified his "scan role." It seems pretty clear to me that Kas was trying to keep my role secret, not to imply that I had no role. So I don't have anything against him. I am suspicious of Elenion, who seems to have jumped on me for little to no reason, and also of Aonar for defending me.
  17. Okay guys, I'm back. I should have been here before turnover, but Amtrak kinda stinks. I guess we still have 5 active players left alive, which is good, although that will be down to 4 by next cycle, unfortunately. Also, since nobody else has, I'm going to step forward and say that I killed the Heart of the House. I don't want to give other details, because I don't know what the Traitors know. But based on activity levels this night cycle we might be able to determine who the Traitors are.
  18. Haha, great writeup! I guess the Penrod's game of Settlers has been introduced to the wider Cosmere by now. I think that there are only around 5 active players left. Araris, Seonid, Elbereth, Wonko and Nyali. And at least one eliminator has to be active enough to be sending in orders, since somebody died. That rules out PK, Nathan, polking, Clanky, Chaos, jefrywlfersn, JUQ, and Mark IV, since none of them have been on the Shard since December 18th or earlier, and Night 9 started on the 20th. So actually, at least one eliminator pretty much has to be inactive, or this game is already "over". @OrlokTsubodai, you are the only inactive player that has been on the shard. Why should we not kill you? Orlok Seonid, killing Nathan doesn't really give us anything. We need to find the active eliminator(s). Please change your vote to one of the 5 active players or Orlok, since I don't see much reason in killing anybody else. Edit: I'm actually going to be offline for pretty much this entire day cycle. Since there are so few active players, can I request a 24 hour extension to the cycle?
  19. Sorry guys, I've been somewhat sick the last several days, and using up what remaining energy I had to spend time with family and friends. That being said, that is no excuse for the amount of inactivity I have had. I'll say right now that I actually have a small reason to trust Dalinar over other players, at least for now, but I can't really give details on that. He is probably the only player I wouldn't help lynch right now. Aside from that, I'll put my vote where it was last cycle, on Magestar. The reasoning is pretty much the same, and I'll try and be back on once or twice to consider switching to a better target. I kind of agree with Kasimir about Elenion, so he is probably where I would switch votes to if I did right now. Also, just to note, I have been active enough to hold onto a shard. I have to keep up with the other LG as well, so I've been getting in my orders or the lack thereof for both games, despite appearances of activity.
