I think I'll have Heather join the RP once they get to Hogwarts, unless anyone really wants her to join them. I think we've got the train groups figured out, though, so I think it's better to wait. Thoughts?

Two things: 1. It's all fun and games until your earbuds get stuck on a doorknob. 2. It's actually kinda fun to write scenes where Aura has to give speeches, because she's so bad at public speaking she makes me feel good about myself.- 1963 replies

What makes my mind break about numbers is that from 0 to 1 there are infinite numbers, and from 0 to 10 there are infinite numbers, but... more. More infinite quantities. I try not to think about it too much.- 1963 replies

Well, a good place to start is mormon.org. If you have any specific questions about it, you can PM me or ask on this thread. Just don't Google search; there's some very crazy opponents of the Church around the internet.

Exactly to both of these. I was able to go last year, and those protesters made me so confused. Why are you doing this? What exactly are you protesting? Is it the prophet? The members? The church as a whole? For heavens' sakes, why? What did make me happy, though, was a group of people- I think they were some of the Temple Square missionaries- holding a mormon.org banner and singing hymns. Made my day.

My sister had dreadlocks for a bit while in college. I thought it looked terrible, but the words 'cultural appropriation' never really crossed my mind. One of my pet peeves is the great prejudice against books in schools; at my high school it's the worst I've seen it. They're weirdly lenient on cell phones but books are treated like the devil. In biology I had a book on my desk. I made pains not to look at it so that Mr. Teacher wouldn't tell me to put it away (or 'put it up', the strange phrase they use around these parts that drives me up the wall because my backpack is lower than my desk I cannot put anything up). And Mr. Teacher walks by and says "pUT tHe BoOK uP mIStrUNNer thIS iS nO TimE tO bE rEaDiNG!!!!!!!!!" I was not pleased. Just because I have a book on my desk does not mean I am reading it. It means I don't want it messed up by being jostled around in my backpack. And if I read after I finish my assignment, that's okay, because I've finished the assignment. You're allowing the entire rest of the class to be on their phones for practically the whole of class and you don't care, but heaven forbid someone is reading. Can't have that in schools.

No longer Honor Spren. Was tempted to change name to MistSpren. Thought it better to not.

Why hello, Honor Spren! Don't we look lovely today! Also, I've decided something. We're not only part of the forum quintuplet, we're also the forum immature younger sisters. *highfives other Honor Spren*

Pretty much what the others were saying. It's a biannual meeting held in Salt Lake City that's broadcast to churches throughout the world (and live on the internet!) where the prophet, apostles, and other church leaders give talks on things that are of importance these days. For example, this conference so far seems to be focusing a lot on the family. There's also a lot of hymns sung, of course. It's awesome. ...except when the internet cuts out.

Don't know where you got that idea from. I'm most definitely Honor Spren, yup yup yup. Here's Hufflepuffly Heather! Name: Heather Ackerman Age: 16 (5th year) Blood status: Halfblood Appearance: 5'8'', fair skin and hair, blue eyes, glasses (yes, they are bright purple, why do you ask?). Smallish scar on the side of her face from a childhood accident involving a sibling, an x-acto knife, and a few really bad ideas. Other: Loves football (the European kind); plays with a community team over summer holidays. Addicted to several muggle television programs such as Doctor Who.

Random Stuff VIII: The Admin Special
Mistrunner replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
Oh, thank you. I'd forgotten that. My sincerest apologies. Entirely plausible. Obviously. However, I'm not sure if magical rainbows can be produced in space, thus greatly diminishing the unicorns' powers. In related news, I drew a comic for an assignment in Spanish. It depicts an alien known as Darnold Trough winning the election (technically, he wasn't allowed to run, being an illegal alien, but no one wanted to vote for the other candidates) and solving all our country's problems. I think I may need professional help.- 1963 replies

Lizzie was late, as usual. She flat-out ran across the platform and onto the train, silently berating herself yet again for feeling the need to call her grandmother to say goodbye. She loved her grandma, but the woman was very lonely and very chatty. It was the last time she'd be able to talk to her until Christmas, though. Unless they allowed you to phone people at Hogwarts. Did they even have cell reception way out there? Jake had never answered that question. Lizzie was already in her school uniform. Was that too pretentious? She saw people wearing jeans. She probably shouldn't be wearing it; she'd gotten strange looks at King's Cross. It looked especially strange when combined with her bright purple backpack, but what was she supposed to do, leave it behind? It had books in it. And her journal (most definitely not a diary anymore, no matter what Jake said and no matter how much glitter happened to be gracing the cover). As she walked through the train, she spotted a compartment with two girls and a reading boy in it who looked to be about her age. She lowered her voice- she found disturbing a reader to be the greatest of sins. "If it's all right with you, do you think I could sit here?" she asked.

Mistrunner takes a few seconds too long to skid out of the kitchen, holding a pan of strange-looking bookies with an oven mitt that says "definitely not fire." She stares at the newcomers, then remembers that she has a job. "So sorry. I was finishing some ship bookies. I- it was a request," she explains. "You're both accepted, words of- gracious- wisdom- I'm sorry, I'm terrible at this." She is still staring at the very serious, slightly singed man. "You have a Seon? What's its name? Can I ask it about Sel? Can it tell stories? How old is it?" Mistrunner rushes up towards him, and after very narrowly missing an end table she ends up staring at Edo. "By the way, would you like a bookie?" she asks absentmindedly, attention focused on the Seon's glowing Aon.
