  1. As I read the question, the main question is wether it's possibly to use your hemalurgic spike as a coppermind and then compound with it. As someone pointed out, it's probably possible, but since using allomancy actually burns away the metal, you would be burning away the spike that's holding part of someone else's spiritweb onto your own now-damaged spiritweb. It would probably be a really bad idea.
  2. Or just put a giant bull's eye (or something else with markings) inside the bubble for the bullets to hit. I wouldn't be too hard to put a gun in a rigid position and line up the bull's eye directly in it's path. Come to think of it, this experiment would almost certainly have to be done with a Pulser (she can just Pulse for a second and give the scientist a few minutes to shoot a few rounds). From what we've seen from Wayne, when a Slider does his thing, time around stand pretty much still. Giving someone time to carefully fire a gun would require an insane amount of benalloy and also need the Slider to at least bring lunch while hanging out in his bubble...
  3. Being a "normal loony" wouldn't stop her from writing significant information, considering other people that are losing their grasp of reality (i.e. dieing people) also say imporant stuff. And and I doubt it's a red herring, Brandon doesn't usually imply there's something important somewhere and then let it not be important...
  4. That seems likely, considering the other magic system we've seen in the world: (Emperor's Soul comment, not an actualy spoiler, though)
  5. *checks what board this is before replying* You should go read And you'll see this isn't as limiting as you think.
  6. If a Radiant's sprenblade can change size and form, is there any reason to believe it couldn't make itself stop glowing?
  7. I would think iron and steel would help a bunch too. A hail of coins would be deadly to a knight without armour (we don't yet know if all orders get armour, do we?) and probably some annoyance to one with armour. An unaware knight might also carry metal on his/her body that the mistborn could push/pull on.
  8. Emphasis mine. This is why I love Brandon so much. This way of thinking ties directly back into (possible WoK/WoR spoiler):
  9. Do we have an example from the books or a WoB on that? I can't think of any...
  10. I actually suspect "bubble" is more a way to describe the shape of the time-effect than something phisical. I think throwing a spear into it, it's more likely to shatter the spear, because the front is suddenly moving faster than the back. Bullets probably survice because they're small and therefore break the barrier much more quickly.
  11. In saturday's Q&A at DragonCon Brandon mentioned that the way Szeth was reborn at the end of WoR was foreshadowed in WoK. Did anyone find it yet? (If not, I'm going to re-read the whole book ) Here's the whole Q&A: https://www.periscope.tv/w/apm9izF4blFyWE9BZ0Juall8MUJSSmpSandQd2dKdwzzXb9OjmLMVE4wuBThOy7igKnRGyihUezunRebVVhI Can't give the exact moment right now, because I'm at work. Edited to add link.
  12. I was gonna chime and point at pewter as the main cause too, since I'm sure it was mentioned somewhere in Mistborn that it also helped with fighting diseases a little, making it less likely of a frail old man to die of something. But I like the cadmium thing a lot more. It makes perfect sense for him to want to zone out if something gets boring. And being the Lord Mistborn, he probably had a bunch of boring meetings and stuff.
  13. I don't think the three clips themselves will really matter (although she will probably find them). It's more likely setting up her skill as an accountant to they can come in usefull later without looking like a deus ex machina.
  14. I don't mean the symbol itself, but the edge of it between, for instance the S and the inner symbol on the black-and-white map. Therre's no way that's not a thaylen R. http://imgur.com/V1FBQtT
  15. Did anyone notice that the glyph that surrounds the compass symbol on the WoR black-and-white map is the letter R (according to the translation thread)? This would the R for Roshar (imo). The Elantris WoB-hint gave me an idea that's going to warrant it's own thread in the Cosmere forum (unless someone beat me to it).
  16. It's been a while since my introduction post because I got a new job. But I just finished WoR a few days ago and spent some time reading around here to catch up. I've just spent 30 minutes figuring out which one I thought was Sebarial, only to notice you figured that out ages ago in your notes (though we disagree on which letter is the R and which the B ). Just after giving up I had an idea and looked at the plain tekst on the warcamps map. It lists the high princes as "Roion, Sadea, Aladar, Dalinar (why not Kholin?), Vamah, Ruthar, Thanadal, Hatham, Bethab and Sebarial." After comparing this to the list of glyphs, I noticed the first five of this list seem to be the five you'll find if you read up from the compass (presuming the top one is Vamah, which would mean the M isn't spelled out). This would suggest that the other five might have their glyphs listed down from the compass. However, this would mean we're wrong about which one is Sebarial, though.
  17. I read all of Brandon's books except for his earlier short stories. Oh, and I met him at JordanCon earlier this year.
  18. Hi all! Quick introduction: I've been a Wheel of Time fan since about 2002, active on WoT boards since about 2004, but sadly those seem to be slowing down, with WoT ending and all... WoT being finished by Brandon led me to checking out more of his books, and since my regular WoT home-on-the-web seems to be slowing down, I thought I's check out 17th Shard.
