When you look at the word stick long enough, you begin to believe that it is spelled wrong. This is called semantic satiation, and it happens because your neurons get tired of firing in the same way, leading to them firing less intensely. That is what happened to my brain when I read that interlude. It appears that The Stick can only say one phrase. The only thing that changes is the punctuation. This could be due to a brain injury (post-concussive speech area disruption) or lasting trauma from when Shallan tried to force Stick to be fire. (C-PTSD can lead to selective mutism or limited vocabulary, especially in children. (ex. Groot)) Either way, Stick has been through a lot, and deserves to be treated as the sentient character it is.
