  1. The story of Taln's Honorblade's journey is the basis for the Stonewalkers campaign in the Cosmere rpg.
  2. There's an interesting concept from Althusser called overdetermination. In this framework, the Fremen jihad was overdetermined. From the moment Paul emerged from the desert, the massacre was inevitable. No action, even with perfect prescience on his part, can stop it.
  3. With the Allomantic atium retcon, I wonder whether that's pure atium TLR and Marsh are using or the electrum alloy.
  4. I think y'all are sleeping (pun intended) on the power of bronze feruchemy for certain people. For someone with bipolar disorder, you can tap wakefulness when in a depressive episode to be able to get out of bed (I know someone who sometimes will have episodes where they sleep 16 hours a day until it passes) or store wakefulness during a manic episode where the reverse happens. Or if you have insomnia, you can use this to actually go to sleep. It would absolutely be my choice at the moment, because there's only so much ZZZquil you can take before you have a problem.
  5. Breath would probably be way too connected to the person's spirit web. You might be able to invert the tone of your breath and give them an anti-breath to cause an explosion though.
  6. For a device that (I think) uses more investiture than a human can safely do, I'd wager the Intensifier counts. It's able to mess with draconic technology. There's no confirmation either way, but even a herald can take a Nahel bond, while a dragon cannot because of how invested they are.
  7. My pet theory is that there are actually three types of FTL. Skipping seems to not take any time and that would indicate travel via the Spiritual Realm.
  8. Reason + Whimsy would work decently imo. It basically just gives the Doctor from Doctor Who.
  9. I've read everything. Legit everything. My first Sanderson book was Mistborn in like 2008? I'm a huge fan and collector. I have bth WoK and WoR numbered leatherbound level of collector. I've already started posting a bit, but saw someone else get their intro post referenced by a mod. My Sanderson take is that I wish humans had a much longer lifespan. His best works are when he takes more time to write like Emperor's Soul (can't wait for Ghostbloods for that reason), but I'm a huge theory crafting person, so more is always better. Such a first world problem.
  10. My thought is that if you fully cut yourself off from the rest of humanity, you're letting them define you. Which isn't the most autonomous.
