Oh that's such a cool idea! The ork-style ponytails have strong Mongolian vibes, so I can see that working really well. Innovative kit-bashing is probs one of my favourite things about the hobby.

Tbh I run far more grots than boyz so I have a lot of boyz arms and hair pieces and whatnot that I don't need, so let me know if you need any!

    All right, thanks!

  2. Sorry all, imma get on this as soon as I have spare time.

As a dedicated ork player, it's my duty to inform everyone that orks are objectively the best faction. WAAAAAAGH!!!!

My favourite squig type is the ones bred for long hair which then bite onto an ork's scalp and stay there, as orks can't grow hair naturally.

Low-key if I ever get into playing Warhammer I'll probably buy an army of orks. Though the boyz are probably gonna be bald cuz I saw a kit-bash YouTube vid where the guy used them to give a white scars space marine hair so that's how they'll be used.

That needed to be said, I think. Thanks.

    Aptly and accurately put.
I salute you for that observation.

Your post might have to be pinned, I think.

    I shan't press too much.
"The thought of going to therapy makes me want to curl up into a ball in my room and never leave. I would rather stay depressed than get a therapist."
That is a problem unto itself. I feel you need to identify and rectify those feelings before you turn your attention to your depression. That appears, to me, and hopefully you'll elaborate for a clearer picture, that you are afraid of opening up to an individual that is close to you (literally) in real life. Whether it be due to pride or ego, social anxiety, past trauma, etc. Doesn't matter.

Again, can't comment much more on this without more context.

In fact, and this is for everyone: Here is some reading material. No one said self-improvement would be easy.
    - The Concise Laws of Human Nature (Robert Greene) (Careful with this one. Leans into themes that could seriously tilt your development and perspective, and not in a good way)
    - The Courage to be Disliked (Some japanese guy) (Great book, Focusses on Adlerian Psychology.)
    - The Myth of Sisyphus and other Philosophical Essays (Albert Camus) (If you are religious, you will likely diagree with a lot of the core themes, but not the practical applications.)

Thank you. The reason I mentioned how I've been feelings is I firmly believe that I don't need a therapist, I need supportive friends, both online and physically. I'm working on both rn.

The reason I'm not comfortable sharing is I have done terrible, destructive things. I'm not going to go into specifics, but only me and my parents know, and that is how I'd like to keep it

Why? You realize that the problem with therapists isn’t that there’s any judgement or guilt, but possibly that they are too nice sometimes? Legitimately, it is a pleasure to speak ti my therapist every time, he always listens, sometimes I interrupt by accident and he’s okay with that, and he is incredibly understanding.

That’s what I used to think too

Then I forced myself to go. I was stressed, and wary, and didn’t expect it to work at all

    It did

Trust me, no matter how much better it seems to stay static from where you are, trust me. It’s always easier to do nothing. Professional help - even if you think you don’t need it - is worth it

    I'm sorry, no, I won't, I can't. Period.

    Okay umm

    I want to say something

I’ve read a bit - not a whole load but a bit - and I just wanna say some things

A lot of you are not ok

    That doesn’t mean you’re a bad person

It doesn’t mean there’s something broken in you

    It means you need help

And for storm’s sake, get out and look for it

And I mean real help, not online forum help

This thread is incredible. Having a space to share struggles, to carry the weight as a group, is incredible. Hell, I wish I had the time to be here more often to carry the weight with y’all.

But there is also something dangerous about a space like this. In an environment where everyone is stuck in self-loathing - in pessimism - the sharing of burdens can become instead an echo chamber. And though it’s nice sometimes to talk with others who go through the same we do, it should never be normalized.

I don’t give a flying fudge if you’re performing. I don’t give a fudge if you’re not worth the effort. If you’re reading this, and I mean this in the best way, get help.

Talk to a psychologist. It helped me so, so much.

Talk to a friend who isn’t struggling as well, and won’t bounce it back at you.

PM me. I’m always here, regardless of who you are.

    Please

@#1 Taln Fan I don’t know what’s up with you recently but I think if memory serves me you’ve got some experience with psychology and can maybe help out a little here

Depression sucks. Hating yourself sucks. But it only works if you accept that there’s no way out of it. And that isn’t true. And if you wanna get out of that hole you’re in, you’re going to need to do a good deal more than compare burdens with strangers on the internet

I’m sorry if this comes off as strong as aggressive

But I want the best for each and every one of you

    No

The thought of going to therapy makes me want to curl up into a ball in my room and never leave. I would rather stay depressed than get a therapist.

Okay, so Warhammer is a game where you paint minifigures or "minis" and use them to play the game. It's basically the saying "The only difference between men and boys are the cost of their toys". You use the minis as toy army figures and fight another army. You generally can split them into 3 categories: Imperial, Xenos, and Chaos. Imperial is the main human faction, Xenos is an umbrella term for aliens, and Chaos is demons. Warhammer is also a setting where there is LOTS of lore in the books and game suppliments.

Now that was a brief overview of the factions. Here is a list of the main subfactions along with a short kinda memey summery of them, that's mostly lore wise cuz I've never played the game:

Also everything Imperium has fake Latin, idk why.

Imperial (The Imperium of Man, an oppressive, xenophobic Theocratic Oligarchy in which 99% of people's lifes sucks)

    1. The Adeptus Astartes or Space Marines (Honestly they're big enough to be a faction unto themselves) Meme (The blue boys themselves. Wait. What do you mean they come in different colors?)
    2. The Adepta Sororitas or The Sisters of Battle (Nuns with flamethrowers) Meme (Because everything needs to have sexualized bull crap)
    3. The Adeptus Custodians or The Custodes (The Emperor's bodyguards) Meme (Why are 3 of them worth more points than a Knight?)
    4. The Adeptus Mechanicus or The Admech (A cyborg cult that treats human life as expendable. It has occurred to me that the only unique part of that sentence is the cyborg part) Meme (THE FLESH IS WEAK)
    5. The Astra Militarum (The main military of the Imperium, they are a horde army with tanks as the main damage dealer) Meme (Yes, humanity is a horde army, now get back to shooting or the commissar will shoot you!)

Xenos (A mixed group of aliens, most of the times not allied)

    1. The Eldari  (A long lived race that's slowly dying out) Meme (They're just space elves)
    2. The Drukari (Evil Eldari that live in the webways) Meme (Evil space elves *gasp*)
    3. The Leagues of Votann (A hyper advanced society of short people) Meme (Not just space dwarves, Capitalist space dwarves)
    4. The Orks (A hyper aggressive group of fungi [yes, you read that right] that includes grots [goblins], snotlings [other goblins], and squigs [they can be breed for anything, and I do mean anything], and orks [orks]) Meme (Ya 'ave tuh say all der linez wiff a cockney british accent. WAAAAGHHHH!!!!)
    5. The Necrons (Space Robots with world ending weaponry) Meme (They turned themselves into literal terminators because a bunch of wizard frogs refused to give them chemotherapy)
    6. The Tyanids (aliens from beyond the galaxy with the single-minded objective to turn everything into biomass to fuel the hivemind) Memes (They're VERY hungry buggy bois)
    7. Genestealer Cults (A bunch of people brainwashed into cultists to help prepare for the tyranid invasion) (no meme but when the Tyranids invade and the cult finishes helping them, they willingly jump into a pool of acid. While they're falling in, the tyranids undo the mindlink in the cultist so they come to they're senses right before being desolved in acid)
    8. The T'au (A caste-based interspecies empire that works for the greater good) meme (most of the time it's a bunch of blue guys in Gundam mech suits)

I am going to stop there because most Chaos stuff I will link together with the space marines & other lore. If there is anything you want me to expand upon (besides space marines) let me know and I will prioritize that!

Erm. Are you seriously comparing yourself to someone who was never born? I don’t mean to be a jerk, but you realize how crazy that sounds, right?

Literally everyone struggles, no one is a perfect person. I’m an oldest brother whose younger brothers don’t respect at all. But you have to realize, they don’t have to, and you don’t have to feel bad about that.

I don't know why I feel that way, I just do

I get that. That's kinda where my recent depressions was caused from

I was struggling with school, but it's getting under control so that's nice ig. Mostly I feel like I'm failing as an oldest brother. I've been struggling with something that makes me feel so unworthy of anything good. I feel like a massive hypocrite for trying to tell my siblings what to do because of that. My mom actually was supposed to have a different son before me, and I can't help but feel like he would be doing an infinitely better job than me.

  9. 4 minutes ago, Denissimo said:

Perhaps identify where your anxiety is coming from. You mentioned a hectic schedule. Is it overwork?
For my friend, that's what it was.

    Well, you've just done it.
    Good job.

    In what manner?

Depression, feeling inadequate in all things, umm idk that's all I can think is if rn

  10. I don't have any good stories but there was this one time that I peer pressured my DM/GM to let my character, an artificer, make a mech suit

    That was fun

There is ooone thing tho... It spends like a good 15% of the book discussing a catheter. Not like... in detail or anything. It just KEEPS bringing it up, and tbh it made me kinda uncomfortable. more uncomfortable than almost any other book I've read, and I read all of ACOTAR

7 hours ago, First of the Tide said:

it kinda is only one scene, but the scene is like super dragged out by flashbacks so the entire first chapter feels like *confusion* CATHETER *Flashback* *Flashback CATHETER *confusion* CATHETER *More flashback* CATHETER CATHETER *flashback* noooo no more catheter. The audiobook also reads the first chapter slower than the more action-filled ones, so that's probably part of my problem, but idk, it made me like super uncomfortable

    Still a 9/10 book (I only rank Sanderson/Lynch a 10) but I just thought I'd put that out there

    What's a Catheter?

  14. Greetings and welcome!

    No, never stop reading.

    Book is life.

Plus the Stormlight Archive books are so big you can read them almost on repeat and they'll still have some entertainment in them.
